Most people don't put in the effort you do with metal fabrication and it shows in your work, its not just beautify built, the attention to detail and the quality of your work is always just that much higher than it needs to be. I hope the people that hire you are aware that they are getting the highest quality available and they pay you accordingly.
Hey Matt, thanks so much for taking the time to post this video when everyone is in holiday mode - and so you should be too with your family. Appreciate that you are putting so much time and effort into your channel. Memories from the old cow shed!!
He's doubled the value of that Ford. Judt kidding He's quadrupled it!
The reason why I originally subscribed to the channel and always look forward to watching an urchvid when a notification comes through
And that....ladies and gentlemen is how you do it properly...the Urchfab way...best wishes to you Matt and your family for the coming years ahead..always great videos..great tips on welding and fabrication and quite honestly a bloody decent all round bloke.
I missed this build previously and I'm not sure why. Will definitely go back and watch now! Can't imagine how satisfying it must be to step back after all that work.
Guess who's back, back again, Matty's back, tell a friend
Got my eye on a mk6 transit with a view to building a tiny home on a chassis cab. This was inspirational, cheers Matt.
This is what got me hooked to the channel , Matt is a top class fabricator , haven’t missed a episode since , well done Matt !!
Excellent work Matt
Remember watching the actual build series for this van. The work that went into it was superb
Nice job!
This would have been a great series video with voice explanation. These are great as learning videos as well.
Nice job Matt!
Man what a sweet build ,looks awesome.
I don't care what you put up Matt, it's always bloody interesting and full of creativity 😁👍 I really need to get into welding!

Quality work. Thanks I enjoyed that.
Nice work Matt. 👍😎
Great looking deck you built Matt. Continue on. Looking for more Ford videos soon.
Thanks for putting that together, nice one. Looking forward to seeing more of the Mongrel now you’ve got it back.
Matt, your fab skills are a joy to observe. This vid was a dose of peace and tranquility during the holidays and just a nice breath of fresh air to relax and watch. Miss the lighting in the old cow shed, but I’m super stoked you have a nice place now with a lift! Looking forward to watching in 2020 and beyond man
Another awesome fabrication video, well done.👍

Cheers Matt Thanks for entertaining me this year ... Nout better than wolfing dinner down while watching you create some thing.. Happy new year
This is the build that got me to subscribe to your channel. Sorry you had to sell it. Maybe another ramp truck build is in the future? :)
That is way cool and , I think, one of your best video's. Thanks and great truck. Mike
Great work Matt, keep it going bud 👍👍👍☺️
Excellent work once again.
Super cool @Matt! Thanks for sharing!

Cool build. Some really clever details in there.
Good stuff!
Thank you for doing a time lapse as well!
That’s mint mate, beautiful job
Thats alot of work, really nicely done Matt! Without any drawings i suppose? Always good to have a timelaps camera rolling 🤛👍
Plasma torch wouldve been a massive time saver on that project!
Hope santa was good to you lol wish you and family and your fellow followers the best new year possible A massive thanks for your videos 👍👍👍😜🏴🦄🎣😁✌️
hi nice work.
Never missed an episode brilliant 😎
Man, that is some excellent work! I would like to do the same some day.
wow that's a dream truck good job
Was a nice bit of work that project, look forward to the next custom recovery vehicle and what you learned from the MK1.
nicely done... just keep away from 3 wheeled morgans and robin reliants :-)
This is beautifully done, Very helpful too I was looking into doing this on a truck of my own and this helped a lot. Keep it up!
Fantastic video.. I still vote its time you built another transit lol was a great series of videos.
Cracking job Matt. you managed to get around all that heavy lifting and positioning all on your own..i actually turn work like this down as i'm just not able to physically do it anymore..getting old and fat is not good for business lol.
Pretty fair effort there Matt. So far you have convinced me the workshop needs a Colchester student. That’s organised but now I find an irresistible urge to build a wee transporter. Whatever you do, please don’t get married for god sake.
Wow impressive, nice job
Respect Ironmaster omg ;-)
Man that looks sexy I personally like the pouch at the front made from checkerplate

I assume some holes were added to drain out rain water or oil leaks from whatever's being recovered.
Hay dude video I enjoyed it it was nice to see in time laps. appreciate all of your work and time to post videos hope you had a good Christmas and santa got you lots of toys 👍👍👍👍👍

Noyce!!
Brilliant workmanship as always, it just a shame we can't work at the speed normally! 🤪
INCREDIBLE.....Well, to me anyway. Just watched this on my phone connected to my truck stereo... good sounds too, Matt. Now wish I had not binned metalworking etc at school.. could maybe build stuff to a good level... instead I can tell you about Keynsian Theiry and Plate tectonics....FML 😆
Great stuff!
Sweet! I’ve been missing the recovery truck.
This was the build that got me watching and subscribing to the channel, great stuff. Happy New Year Matt.
Good side line for you Matt. Nice work, as always.

Nice one Matt! That was an excellent build! Happy New Year to you and the family! :-)

Oh and off, yeah.
You're a very skilled man, great workmanship. You should really not seat on the bare floor. They make very good kneeling pads which are great. You're not as old as me, but believe me it's good advice.
Two questions please: 1) What is the max weight you can put on it? (What is the heaviest car? 2) What driving license you have to have to drive the truck bed. Please ;)
@petelattimer6808
4 жыл бұрын
in the UK a normal car license covers you for a truck that size as its not over 3500kgs gross weight. weight you can put on it depends on the weight of the truck and body as these vary from body to body. most weigh in at around 2200kgs empty (as i believe this one did from memory, i think it was weighed in the original build series but cant be sure) which would mean a maximum of 1300kgs load. looking at modern cars, cars such as the Ford Focus/Mondeo/Kuga etc are all too heavy to be legally put on the truck, as are many others. anything bigger than a Fiesta or Corsa is probably too heavy nowadays, despite what the scrap guys tell you, its illegal. no amount of spring upgrades changes the plated weight

I painted it but galvanised would have been better.
Since I saw this thing a year or so ago I've been looking for a long wheel base van to build my own. Quite rare and expensive in Australia unless you want an absolute pile of garbage.
I would like to know how much the build weight? Awesome build homie
Great video, subscribed. What was the wheelbase on that van?
How is it holding up after a year of use?
Hey Matt, could you do an update on your customer's Pop? It looks like an interesting project, and would make a good filler when you don't have updates on your personal cars.

Urchfab just a quick heads up the link in the description for your camera brings up an HDMI cable for some reason, the mic and tripod links are good though 👍
some nice work there matt, but how do you get the ramps in the store point with a long load on the back? 0.0
@Jonathan_Doe_
4 жыл бұрын
chrismechanic B Crouch down lol. I doubt he’s gonna have anything long enough on it to overhang the back of it anyway.
@Urchfab
4 жыл бұрын
It was a bit of a reach but manageable.
What was the length of the original bed you had on it? My tipper has just failed its mot on a rotten bed. Been thinking of turning the truck into a recovery truck and getting a tipper trailer for a while so now seems like the time. Held a 16 foot length of timber up against it though and it just looks wrong. Think I must have a medium or short wheelbase. The tipper bed is 10 foot 6in and that already overhangs the back wheels 2 to 3 foot at a glance.
I miss the FORD RECOVERY TRUCK :-(

@wd40 again me son you should be a member of the board the amount of advertising you give them 😂
What did it weigh empty this Matt?
Cool build but I did some research and you can only have 15percent of the wheel base as overhang. But who is checking
@chriscoulthard4947

Wheelbase or overall length? My iveco van has 11 foot wheelbase with 5 foot overhang.
@Urchfab

It's well within the limits.
Have a question. The storage box below the winch. Did you put a drain hole in it? On your next recovery truck build should build a mount that can transfer the winch pull from rear to the side. Mount it by the rear axle somewhere.
