    Be interesting to see how the cylinder head looks after the stage two clean. Doubt if that black stuff just melts away into thin air.

    @@ServiceMyRide The reason you get this sludge buildup is that it is not running a dual port/DI common rail. My Hyundai CRDI1.6 Turbo is at 178,000 KM's and NEVER had the inlet side show more than a light grey soot powder and beautiful clean inlet valves. Runs as sweet as a nut and pulls like freight train off the bottom. This engine uses port injection on start, low and low/medium revs and only goes to 100% DI at WOT.

    @@ServiceMyRide thanks guys, I'm in Melbourne but on the Central Coast a lot (when travel allowed). I'll be in touch (have a 3.2l Everest)
