    The conclusion to this engine was a faulty fuel filter housing it was drawing in air are causing the diesel not to pull through from the tank and not to refill the filter we replace the whole filter housing with a second-hand unit and the car is still running over 3 months later with no issues just something worth checking as well symptoms pointed to a blocked fuel tank but in this case it was not

    @@armandonika I tested the fuel coming out of the fuel tank and it was clean normally when there's a big blockage you comes out dirty I also double checked all the o-rings on the fuel filter housing they were bad and the fuel filter housing was Miss shape and old eye pressure tested the fuel housing and I saw fuel coming out of it so I replaced it

    Nice mate. Seen a few feed pipes not in their retaining clips rubbing on the pulley at the back of the engine. Think it’s the power steering pump can’t remember. Normally after an engine has been fitted. Another great vid. Keep them coming.

    hi leon hows things ? i have a 2006 1.8 transit connect r3pa engine ,van starts everytime but loss of power ,as if the turbo not kicking in but it seems to be working take the turbo pipes of at the manifold and really strong pressure ,only engine code is 0087 low pressure ,i changed the fuel filter ford one and it was one hell of an engine to start had to jump start it ,eventually started but will start everytime 24 hours later still starts but one i remove the fuel pipe feeding the pump from filter it will not start same again flattens battery etc then have to jump start it ,so i connected the fuel pump up to a gallon can of fresh good diesel and sorted the other pipes so that they would not draw air but same again no start ,the fuel pipe is only 15 inches long from pipe to pump very short but it is still flattening the battery and taking forever to start ,i have checked the fuel pressures 300 bar at idle at 2000 rpm 700 bar and at 3000 rpm 800 bar but it still hard to start ,i did a leak of test on the injectors and all good very slow to put diesel into the measuring containers ,i cant understand why it will not start even with its fuel lines and filter by passed and i have what looks like good fuel pressure ,can you shine any light on it before i start changing the pump etc ? sorry for the long message but i had to explain all of what i have did on the van ,i also did a compression test and it is 100 % every cylinder ,hpefully you or one of your other followers can help many thanks paul

    Ever woorked on 2016 Ford Focus Flex GDI SE 2.0L ? I had a collision on curb high speed and had underneath dammage but still ran . Had it at home for a few days and i'd start it and ran normally for 10-15 minutes at a time . ran it to check engine and charge battery . Then took it to a shop and damage was fixed and verry surpprised it won't start . Mechanic said he couldn't diagnose problem so I took it home and called mobile mechanic . He used a tool with a tablet and said it was fuel pump so I got one used and put it on still not working. Used test light to check fuses and entire rows of them not working and I told mobile mechanic but he didn't pay attention. Said he's almost 100 % sure it's pump ..Shouldn't the fuses light up ? and yes I took them out and checked with ohmeter and they're good . Fuel pump fuse is good and mechanic said it's getting some fuel but probably weak pressure ? Please help me I need my car . Spent too much already and over a week no

    Hi Mate just subscribed to your channel as I find it very informative, I've got a similar problem where the Mondeo was driving ok then just stopped and now wont start, Id like to ask a couple of questions if I May, Firstly if I crack the nuts on the injectors after having cranked it over I get a dribble of diesel but no real pressure release, Does this sound normal?? Secondly if I disconnect the main pipe that supplies all the injectors I get the same result after cranking, Should the fuel jet out of here under pressure as it only seems to trickle out? there's no evidence of any gold in the filter housing so I'm hoping my injector pump will be ok....Any advice you could give would be most appreciated

    @bodgitandleggitgarage

    Hi mate what you need to open up your diesel filter see if you can see any gold glittery bits if you can your pump is gone and you need to replace that and your injectors this is very expensive then plug in your scan tool on live data on your high pressure fuel pump make sure it's at least 300 bar at startup that is the first thing you need to do

    thanks for the reply mate, I've hooked up my laptop using forscan and it throws up a number of codes, P0087, P0193, P0238. Whilst cranking the engine there is plenty of fuel pressure and the fuel filter is good with no bits of metal. Any ideas mate?/

    @@bodgitandleggitgarage brilliant I've been having trouble with my 1.8tdci engine code kkda in the morning or for long periods of time its really struggles to start and sometimes doesnt start at all, so I've changed the glow plugs the battery and also the fuel filter but still the problem persists and I also have changed some of the fuel pipes as the ends were corroded or broken and I've done a compression test once cold and one hot the cold one indicated that cylinder 3 had a dodgy injector so I took it out got it checked and it came back as fine so I'm not at a lost as to what it could be do you have any ideas ?? I've been told if I blank my egr valve it should course it but its seems like a fuel problem not an exhaust problem so any advice will would be great full thanks 👍👍

    hate those 1.8 lynx engines with a passion they should have called them the 1.8 jinx total crap really poor engine components oil seals ,turbos , flywheels( go around 60k) wet timing belt great idea that a belt that is soaked in oil and the dreaded delphi fuel system are not worth a toss , leon must really love them though , my advice to anyone looking to buy a diesel car would be if it doesn't have a bosch fuel system forget it

    Hi mate I will have to disagree with you on a couple of points of this the Ford 1.8 lynx engine has been developed over a very long time and he's a great engine the wet belt side of things yes is a disaster once you change it to a chain it's far better and like anything as long as the engine has been looked after properly there really is no issues apart from normal everyday running wear and tear

    I suppose when you look at all this engine and all the parts you realise how much better a electric engine is if only the batteries were 10 times better you wouldn't have all this diagnosis to do
