Great video for independence day. %99 of guys I know that drive truck couldn't run a lathe to save their life. You're at the top of your industry.

I drove for 25 years. I can use a lathe, weld, and any other machine shop tools. Guess I'm the 1 percent, huh?
Yelling at Seri, I was die’n ova here.😂 Funny how she’s always listening when you don’t want her to then when you’re stuck under a truck she’s rock’n out not paying attention. 😂

Firstly, happy Independence Day, to friends and family. Sam, my buddy, back in the 80's turned the cooler sideways, and made up a set of louvers, for one side. The fin side, was towards the transmission about 2 inches below, with the louver openings towards the rear. With a gear pump, run by a modified wiper motor, to circulate the gear oil. Air flow, due to the venturi effect, was all that was needed. This system worked wonderfully in the Canadian Rockies, fully loaded on the long 6 and 7% grades. The temps would stay roughly 10°F above normal.
Your Grandpa would be so PROUD!!!
Back in the 80’s and early 90’s I worked at a shop that specializes all things tow trucks and as a result I installed lots of PTO’s and Hydraulic pumps. One of the things we did was I make our own mounting bracket/tab instead of that two piece weld together setup was we would tack the two pieces together and then use that as a template to trace our our 1 piece bracket/tab. Additionally we fabbed up a cutout for the PTO that was based off rpm of the engine and a pump cutoff switch based on hydraulic pressure
Love to see a man actually finish a good job unlike some other sites .,Pride is alive in you and it wont die ever. Thank you for this work story
Got an 89 LTL in Australia. Still working. Great old trucks.
Good to watch someone who really knows what he's about.
I liked this video. Thanks for taking us along.🏁🏁🏁
Great job Sam keeping your equipment maintained and up to code takes a tremendous effort and you take it a step further by keeping it clean and looking good Shows you take pride in what you’ve done and own
It's always a pleasure to watch someone else doing the work! I learned that lesson the hard way too -- as soon as you're finished draining the oil, the drain pan gets removed and emptied. Most of our trailers work off the truck hydraulics. On the quad axle float the ramps and lift axles work off the truck hydraulics, but the massive winch (30T from memory) needs an auxiliary power pack. Originally it was all plumbed to work off the little onboard Honda power pack (now removed), but the winch barely moved and the truck hydraulics weren't much faster! The big trailer mounted unit powers it in/out at a decent rate, although we hardly ever use the winch. Better to have it and not need it, than vice versa!
One of my favorite channels.
Nice work. Really nice work. The truck looks spectacular. Happy hauling. 👍👍👍
Great job on the additions and the maintenance. The old Ford is looking all shiny again!
Scrappy Sam, it's good to see you have a video out today.
Damn i hate using dump pumps for wet kit application. I do agree on the hate for "scotch locks", those should be illegal. Ford is looking amazing, and your tank mount spacer idea is perfect! Old trucks always need work! Reminds me of the adage of how girlfriends and go-karts are alike. You ride them for a half hour on the weekend and work on them the whole next week.
Good morning Sam! Happy 4th of July to everybody. 🎉🎊🎇🎆
Happy Independence Day Sam. Thanks for the update 😊
I have used the field replaceable fittings on many hydraulic lines, and I have never had one fail. You are the first person I have heard with failures. I use a double wire hose, and the fittings that match. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Love these old Ford trucks. I remember when they were a real competitor in the market. We had an old 850 that was bulletproof! Thanks for the video! 👍
Thanks Sam, was really looking forward to this update. Really enjoy watching your videos. Can't wait to see the next Mini-Mack video!
Great job Sam keeping your equipment maintained 😀
My gf loves it when I watch your videos when we are getting busy. 🎉
The polish job looked fantastic 🦘
The only USA channel who I watch that uses a 5 inch grinder with the guard on. You only need 1 cut off disc to disintergrate and cut you up before thinking, YES a guard IS a good idea..

Man , that’s what I want to do on my Mack! Thanks for showing me how to do it 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
That is a really nice lathe, no bearing noise, and looks like the runout is good.
Great job the truck looks great, we had a 1986 9000 brings back memories. Have a happy 4th of July
Great job and best of all: you always finish the project - congratulations
One of the best that I have seen. Well done. Very entertaining first thing in the morning in NZ.
Excellent outcome!!!
Give Loctite 545 a try on your fluid fittings. I had a leaky 3000 lb hydraulic fitting on a John Deere tractor 6 years ago that I could not get to stop leaking. I tried Teflon no go. Someone told me about 545, used it and to this very day, it has not leaked one drop. I use it on every fluid fitting on the farm except residential plumbing. Not one single leak on anything ever.Try it you'll like it!
That is a great looking truck young man. Nice set up on the wet line kit, I like your attention to detail and your thinking on repairs and upgrades, thanks for the update, enjoyed watching, appreciate your time.
Well Sam you are getting an education on this install, and we just had to put our 7 year old Beagle down, she had a tumor on her spleen, if they took her spleen out, she'd only have about another 8-9 months of life, so we decided to put her out of pain and discomfort I'm still missing her. Dave D.
We can see better with new lights you put in..them small projects do add up...but we get some good to watch...with the inspector. 🐾🐕🐾
Great work this will be a dry work shop or ur planning to put some heat for the equipment u will be storage in . Thank you for all the hard work and blessings to u and senior plus fam 🙏

well done
Love the old trucks, the new one's are nothing but Chineseum Krap
Good one Sam
I run an old truck as well. My low air buzzer doesn’t work either. Worried I’d get popped for it I did a little research and found that: as long as you have a pressure gauge and either a buzzer OR indicator lamp, mucho bueno! Good to go

Sam you two beautiful trucks
Great video Happy 4th of July
Nice!
Well done 👏
Happy Independence Day Sam. Looks great !!
Loved the video! Would love for you to do a video on how the lowboy trailer works, is attached together.
WILL do
Sam, that was a fun watch. That Ford is almost too purtty to put it to work. Love how well adjusted to shop noises your dogs are, obviously you trained them well. Reminds me of when my Lab was a puppy, I would bring her into the garage and showed her the noisy equipment and while petting her I would place one of her paws on the running machine, she leaned and never was afraid. Thanks for sharing 👍 - HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO ALL 🇺🇸
👌👌👍👍 Nice! Thanks for the video.
Old truck that is newer boy it sure looks and sounds awesome well done Sam now to see a big load on looking forward to that video you have a gem there enjoy 👍👋🇨🇦

Funny that both you and Yogi are tappin you feet to the music @24:30 😆
Awesome Job Sam Happy 4th July
Now what you need to get is a high-idle for the ford
I have a PTO on my ten speed freightliner .Run a vacuum pump with right angle gear box and a Lovejoy coupling. When I engage my PTO. I put clutch down to engage the clutch brake. Also put transmission in gear while flipping the PTO switch put transmission in neutral while letting the clutch out. It seems to grind less that way
Happy 4th ofJuly . Greetings from Germany
Happy 4 th. Looks like your dripping liquid gold out of the 5-gal pump. HAVE A GREAT DAY!
Love The old Ford
