@Clockwork0nions market studies and greedy dealers decide who would buy them first and then set the price. When the first Maverick was set to be sold under 20k dollars, I would have looked at one to replace my small compact car. But prices quickly shot up when they hit the market and popularity. When interest rate ease down, many Americans will be shopping for new. But with the population waiting for lower rates and lower prices it most likely will be a feeding frenzy as the market picks up in affordable easy on the gas vehicles.

I hate my current car, bought a Jeep because it was literally the only new car I could afford 6 years ago. Hasn’t been the greatest car. I’m used to the old Fords, but with today’s prices I’ll probably drive this Jeep forever because it would be cheaper to just replace motor etc than buy something new. I’ve been trying to get back into a truck and sadly I’ve seen 15-20 years old trucks going for 20-25k which is insanely priced as well. Your screwed on all ends as far as cars go. It’s literally cheaper just keeping and replacing broken parts as needed

The goal of the governments is to get people out of their private vehicles WEF style and onto public transit. This is done by making it unaffordable by: interest rates, taxation, vehicle capital cost, insurance costs, fuel costs, maintenance costs, income tax. No disposable money left. The solution WEF style is 15 minute cities. No need for private transportation.

Are auto manufacturers and dealers working with the government to bankrupt their own companies? 🤔 Every year they raise the prices of their own vehicles, add markups and add-ons. I could be wrong but my theory is the government is raising interest rates to force manufacturers to lower prices.

Bought a used 2022 Escape AWD Titanium w/ under 20K miles. Got it home, took it out a few days later and the check engine light came on! Dealer I bought it from refused to take it back. Took it to a Ford dealer, left it there for 2 weeks, they replaced the purge valve under warranty. Drove it a couple of times, check engine light back on. Took it back for several more days and they come back and say the EVAP canister is broken due to a road hazard, and they won't fix it under warranty. Said it would be $900+ USD! Found a local dealer that would sell me the canister for $300, replaced it myself, then sold it for a slight loss when everything was added up. The EVAP canister was located right on the bottom of the vehicle, driver side protected only by a "cardboard" type cover. Seems like a bad design decision, cheap plastic charcoal canister required for emissions inspection located where it can easily be damaged then they won't cover under warranty and want to charge you $900 to repair! Ford stinks, never buy another again.

I would never buy anything from Ford with a 2.7 . This engine has a rubber band driving the oil pump. All of it running in motor oil. When the rubber band breaks, it's done. I suspect it would last about 98k miles. You Tubes " I Do Cars " has a video on the subject.

Since The Lovely Bride and I don't care about being entertained by any vehicle an AM/FM radio with a couple of speakers is fine, we can both read a road map and road signs, so we don't need GPS, rubber mats and manual seats, windows and transmissions work too. We only need the basics in any truck or car for that matter so a "fleet" level pickup with real 4X4 capability would be ideal for our uses if we had any intention of buying anything new. Thankfully though, the two pickups The Lovely Bride and I currently own are both paid for, and both give us everything we need and we don't have a truck payment that exceeds the one we pay on time every month for our home.

@@kathleenking47 We've only rarely found the need for GPS on our phones such as when driving (looking for a specific VA parking garage in Baltimore, for the first time, was a thing I must admit to) "in the big city" but thanks to street surface work the GPS could only get us to within three blocks of the hospital. The lady in the phone nearly had a melt down and had to be put in a time out because we were unable to/refused to follow her directions. After that, we just figured it out on our own and by following the detour signs. I know of several folks who have totally freaked out when their in-car/phone GPS systems did not/could not put them at "the front door" of their desired destinations because such systems do not, and as far as I know, cannot keep up with road work changes to an already mapped traffic pattern.

The cause is the brain dead management, not just at Ford. I work in manufacturing and these vehicles don't have to cost more than $30k- $35k considering the numbers that they're produced in. The problem is and has been in management for decades. What's happening today is simply the maturation of their incessant incompetency over the decades. The death knell first sounded loud with the 4 door Chevelle followed by the 4 door Charger. The Charger worked because there was no other choice. But the designers and engineers are out of touch. They're out of touch by the direction of the brain dead managements.

When interest rate ease down, many Americans will be shopping for new.

I’m in Arizona. Bronco Raptor MSRP + $20,000 dealer markup.

My 2002 Ford F350 XLT Crew Cab Power Stroke just three days ago turned over to 38,000 miles. "Barely Broke In" by diesel standards. In the fall of 2001 when no one would buy anything, I paid $37,480.00 for it fully loaded. It is still in mint condition and garage-babied. With the absolute sticker shock shown here, me and my F350 are gonna be together for a long, long time!😂
These companies/dealers are smoking crack if they think the average person is buying any of these vehicles.

My 2017 4Runner with 100k runs perfect, paid it off a couple years ago. Prbly run for another 100k.
The problem is in a few years these trucks will still be 30k-40 used with 100k miles. What banks going to give the average person a 72 month loan for a vehicle like that. This is a long term problem not just a now problem. This is just a disaster in the waiting. Thanks for the videos speaking the truth brother.

I own a 4Runner with 425,500 miles. I took care of her, but she is getting old. If I actually knew someone who would properly restore....I don't; but at least I would have a rebuilt engine, noise mitigation and all the little stuff fixed. I would pay that rather than buy a 4Runner with a lawn mower engine. EPA has ruined these companies. Problem is that even though I know mechanics, they are getting rich right now so a proper restoration is damn near impossible. Paid one joker $525 to replace my leaking Valve cover gaskets!!! Lasted about about 6 months. Shaudy work and over-confident pillheads. I'm screwed. Guess I will buy a hooptie

The first Lariat was a custom order that was not picked up …Also those are not tie downs on the hood, they are tire guides. Yes Ford has increased the price of their product to rapidly and it is not working for their potential customers.

Cellphones read GPS you don't need the one in car
@furmanmackey5479

I'm keeping my 18 year old stick shift Pontiac (Toyota inside) Vibe. A bullet proof engine, great reliability, screen free, non turbo- simple, rugged and affordable. Unless the auto makers offer something very similar, I'll keep it until I fall off my perch.

I haven't bought a new vehicle in a few years and I sold them during the used car over price time. Now if I need a vehicle I buy used after research.

Would it be any cheaper to import new vehicles into Canada from USA? The prices for Canadian seem to be a lot higher even with the currency exchange rates.
@markholubetz
27 күн бұрын
I have looked into it, but we lose on that exchange and then inspection/transport/ admin costs. There are little incentives in doing that. A few years ago when the Canadian dollar was close to par, there were many doing it, but not sure we will see that for a long time.
Ford pickups now cost more than what I paid for my house 😂… insanity…. I can’t believe these prices….

Too funny, I agree way over priced-I was a Ford dealer in Michigan in the 90 s selling F 150 s xlt for 14,000 ,ceo Farley said you need to make 125K a year to afford their trucks now- based on other costs to -Housing , food , car -the industry is dead- when the average guy cant afford a basic truck-repos way up- and going higher-I went to the auctions in Detroit every week and watched 1000 cars a week go through the repo lines of Ford motor credit and GMAC-in 2 years you wont recognise the world-auto and Home owners Insurance the next shoe to drop-going through the roof ,TIC TOC =BOOOOOOM -The world was far better off when Henry Ford only paid 5 bucks a day wage-its not how much you make- its what you can buy, with what you make thats important
Still waaay to much. Going to keep driving my 2004 Buick

Nothing like buying a new vehicle and having the smell of a gas leak in your garage. Its like everything is going backwards or becoming junk. A gas peak is something you expect from leaving a petcock open. My 1950-60's cars didnt even leak fuel.
And yet in California Ford dealers still want 10K markup on some vehicles
Do automakers have economists and finace people? What's the median single and family income in the US? What percentage of your income should they spend on a automobile? Where are the automobiles that align with these two numbers?
