I'm watching this because my return hose from engine block to header tank burst just where yours burst. It was very close to the connector so it couldn't be capped. I'm about to install this same kit. Thank you for the tutorial, much appropriated.

Do you know by any chance what the connector on the side of the engine is called with the nozzle witch the coolant hose connects to with the green clips. Just bloody snapped mine😐

@@st225_dom Not sure what it's called but you don't need it. Just push on the hose onto the nipple and use a jubilee clip to fasten it on. If you've snapped the nipple, good luck. I had to cut my green clip off with a saw.

@@st225_domhow did you go with this mate can you buy seperate or with genuine hose? How did you connect the new silicone hose ? Don’t know if it’s just as easy to go genuine hoses ?? They then all just fit up nicely with all the correct fittings

@@swanracing i need more than luck buddy hahaha, I broke the green clip connector for what attaches the header hose to the engine block. I managed to remove the clip in the end. Do I need a new clip or can I attatch my silicone hose onto the block without it do you think?

I'm assuming there is still a metal 'stub' sticking out the cylinder head? if so then yeah there should be enough to push the hose on and do up with a jubilee clip

@@swanracing thank god I still have all of the metal stub, my face was priceless when the clip snapped. Hopefully I get finished today, all else seems to be jubilee now. I started with the harder clips first 🤞

Yes definitely replace those heater hoses as I’ve just done mine, they are a weak point after doing all other hoses. Mine split at 6k rpm loosing loads of coolant and nearly cooking my engine.

Hey man. Quick question... I just changed the heater hoses on my LT XR5 focus - bought genuine from Ford. During the process, I obviously lost some coolant. After putting on the new hoses, I just topped up the coolant reservoir with only water to MAX level while engine was off and cold, I then put the reservoir cap on and that was it. The next day I thought I'd check the coolant level and found that it was very, very low. Way below minimum. Couldn't see any leaks or anything. So I just topped it up again. From what I've been told, I should have let the engine run after changing the hoses and then top up the coolant as thr level dropped. Would my method have damaged anything you reckon? The temperature gauge didn't indicate any overheating at any point.

I know I'm late with this answer but this just sounds like air in the system. Maybe you didn't run the heating when first running the car as air will be in the heater matrix pipes.
