    Sadly my 2012 Raptor is downshifting and deleting the gears visibly that it downshifted from. Happens intermittently but since fords recall only addresses vehicles 10 years or 150k miles, I’m on my own! Good stuff!

    Hi , is it relatively straight forward to split and flush the valvebody on the 6R80 in order make sure all valve passages dont have any blockages from the metal paste in the transmission fluid? thanks in advance

    Is it much different to remove the valve body in an E4OD transmission in an F350?

    That green marker that you marked towards the end of the video is that where the out put shaft speed sensor goes ? If so what year is this truck? My truck has this speed sensor issue right now

    Is this the same transmission and process for a 2014 F150 with a 3.5L?

    Thank you so much, watched several vids on this and yours was the most helpful. I got lucky, my problem turned out the Ford dealership maybe either flushed my 6r80 with dirty fluid, or got the in/out flow backwards on their machine, I had filthy trans oil (black, not red at all), and it was overfilled by 3 quarts (not sure how they managed it, very messy, I took out 11-1/2 quarts, and only had to put in 8-1/2 quarts). Was having some strange p0705 errors intermittently and gear selector not lighting up right after the local dealership did my 200k trans flush. Turned out I didn't need to replace the Lead Frame (which is out of stock everywhere atm anyway). I did a filter replacement, and cleaned up the gear selector sensor part with the magnet (after i wiped what little clutch material there was from it) and cleaned everything with a shop rag real well. Problem solved. I also replaced that round electrical sleeve piece with the 3 o-rings.

    Hey man thanks for this awesome video. I’m thinking I need to replace my valve body on my 16 f150 5.0 ;97k miles, 6r80. I’m having intermittent shifting issues particular at faster speeds on highway.sometime when I press on gas to go faster tranny gets stuck in lower gear and the only way to get it back to normal is to let off the gas and cycle back through gears. Anyway was hoping for some insight if you think that could be the problem and also if I change this part will I have to do any programming or reflashing of anytype? Im replacing the entire valve body and lead frame. Thanks!!!!!

    Should I change those tube seals and the bridge seal while the valvebody is out? Also is it common to get a failed solenoid? My 6R80 has no evidence of a service and has 193,000 km or about 120k miles. I'm thinking of changing those seals and solenoids when doing a trans service (then reset adaptations) I currently get clunking shifting to 2nd gear. Thanks

    I have 6r60 220k mi with same issue. Did you end up changing the gaskets (4 tubes and bridge plate connector) or just do filter without removing vb ?

  • @somenutjob

    @somenutjob

    @@testaug2011 I tested for bad solenoids and couldn't find one so I replaced the whole valve body and solenoid assembly. I changed the 4 tube seals the bridge seal and mechatronic sleeve seal + of course the sump gasket and fluid. After programming the TCU for the new solenoids it drives like it's got a new trans. It was expensive but well worth it.

    You ended up changing out VB. I may try solenoids & seals first. I'm not sure if my friends scanner could reprogram the tcm. Worth a shot.

  • @somenutjob

    @@testaug2011 it is worth a shot if you can avoid changing the VB you'll save a lot. If you change solenoids you need to reprogram the TCU or just drive it gently for 1000km or so for it to relearn so you won't know if it's fixed for a while after. Best of luck with it.

    When you call the "Drive shaft" the Axle, you probably shouldn't be working on cars, let alone filming it.
