Learn how to install a new 12V battery in a Ford Explorer or Lincoln Aviator. We’ll show you how to replace/change/remove with simple tips and tricks to help get you started!
Tool List: 10mm wrench, 8mm wrench (socket and extension are recommended), flathead screwdriver or fastener removal tool.

-This video shows a 2022 Ford Explorer battery replacement. The steps are similar for Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and beyond.
-The following battery sizes are used:
- H6 AGM (Explorer)
- H7 AGM and H8 AGM (Aviator)
-Even if your vehicle did not come with an AGM battery, you can upgrade to an AGM battery for up to 2x the life. AGM can be found at most retail outlets. You can learn more about AGM here: autobatteries.com/battery-tec...

Hi - Thanks for watching! Depending on how the vehicle is equipped, several system resets may be necessary. We suggest that you check the vehicle owner’s manual or a service/repair manual to be sure.
Hi dont need to reset the BMS after changing the battery?

Is this the same process for newer explorers? 2024/2025?

Thank you for watching. For a 2024 we do know the battery is located in the same general location but have not gone through a step by step process of replacement.
Mine didn’t come with a new vent plug, and the OEM has a different style. I can’t find them for sale anywhere either. What should I do?

Thanks! I ended up getting the plug. But I bet ya what, my factory battery didn't have the second hole plugged. I think 95% of the time that second hole isn't being plugged. Anyway, thanks again@@TheBatteryShop

You think this is bad...look up the escape battery swap....it's so much worse
