A FWD Camry with snow tires will do way better than AWD with crappy tires.
So let me summarize this video, a modified bronco outperformed a stock ranger, what a shocker
@randalsweeting661
Жыл бұрын
Well note the ranger has a rear locker. So better tires and the outcome will definitely change. I do like the price comparison and I'd like to see a baby bronco priced the same as the big bronco and see what happens
@lhurst9550

And how was the bronco modified?
@truckertoddllc
Жыл бұрын
@@lhurst9550 did you watch the video? The bronco had larger and better tires. Also one of the main things that Andrei liked about it was the lights because it increased visibility. He even conceded that the bronco would have done much better with different tires
@backwoodstherapy

@@truckertoddllc tires are so important. Hell, that's why we put lifts on vehicles. So we can put bigger, more aggressive tires on them. Going from a stock all season to something like a ridge grappler (even stock size) will just give you so much more grip off road it's crazy.
@truckertoddllc
Жыл бұрын
@@backwoodstherapy yes I would like to see them redo these tests with ko2s on the ranger. The ranger has rear lockers in this bronco didn't and I believe it would be a much more interesting comparison
Here we go again, comparing "vehicles" on slippery surfaces when honestly you are only comparing tires. One has street tires not made for slippery mud, snow at all and the other is an all terrain off road capable tire. Both of these Ford vehicles would do just fine if they were both equipped with the BF Goodrich All Terrain A/T tires.
The bronco needs more lights
Love you guys, but saying "only one makes it" on all your off road comparisons is a bit excessive

Yep, those poses in everyone of their thumbnails is a bit annoying.
Maybe put foam pads around those fence posts. Seems like every video there is concern about hitting them. Pool noodles are cheap and easy to cut to size...and would make those fence posts more visible.

This is more of a tire comparison
Don't do a snatch recovery in reverse. The helical cut gears in your diff are designed to be stronger in the forward direction, because of the angle they are cut. It's a good way to damage your differential gears.

The mass of the vehicle takes a lot of the load of the snatch..
6:16 In the future, ruts on the inside of tight trail turns will be known as “Bronco gouges”
One of the first things I did with my fx4 ranger was level with Fox AND put 32 inch KO2s on it. Tires Make a big difference.
Have you guys ever considered doing some 4x4 off road driver training? The programs are cool, but so many no no's in what you did in this video. Or things you could have done very differently. Doing some off road competitions is a good way to learn too. 🙂
Hopefully Andre never does real off-roading, he would need a lot of undies to change 😂.
Why, since you own the property, would you fence it with rebar? That seems to be an unnecessary risk. If you need to clearly mark the course, pylons wouldn’t cause damage.
Great editing and musical choreography in the intro! Destin was a hoot too! You guys always keep getting better! I enjoyed this comparison.
Next time you do one of these tyre comparisons in the snow you should probably just use the same vehicle as the ‘control’. Other than that, this video as a ‘comparison of the the two vehicles’ is completely useless.
I love the BFG all terrain tires. They’re awesome. I had a set of half worn ones on the back of my ‘89 Ranger and it was a beast in the snow. In 5-6 inches, I never even needed the 4WD. It had regular street tires in the front, so I really had the best of both worlds. Also, I had a limited slip rear end, and that was a big help.
The Ranger actually changes power with fuel type too. For some reason Ford never put it out there.
@rayzor9035

Could you explain that more, please?
@WalterPidgeonsForge
7 ай бұрын
@@rayzor9035the powertrain control pulls timing and boost out when running low octane fuel.. just like every other turbo Ford sold today.. like the Bronco.
When dealing w/ dark, snow, mud & ice NO pickup truck will compare to dedicated off rd rigs like Broncos / Jeeps etc. Weight distribution is a huge factor & tire types make a big difference. Ranger has been well proven off rd esp in Tremor models tho FX4 is PLENTY for 90% ppl out there. In most extreme elements only purpose built off rd vehicles will prevail. Im a truck guy. 4wd crew cab trucks are all i own. Hard to beat esp these new Gen Rangers in my experience!
Between the 2? Bronco all day long, for me. I probably would have gone that route, actually, had they not been dehind 2 years on orders. Went with a Wrangler 4XE, instead. I really like Ford's packaging structure, and the fact that you can get Squatch on a base Bronco makes me think Ford wins over Jeep on the lower end models.
That Bronco did well and man, those steelys look great!
The Ranger would of beat on the Bronco with the right A/T tires and a small lift. This test isn’t a fair comparison.
KO2s aren't great in mud but awesome in snow. Certainly better than those tries that came stock on that Ranger. This isn't really apples to apples. Get some proper off road tires on that Ranger, please. I'd love to see you guys build it for overlanding - a lift, some Nitto Recon or Ridge Grapplers, then run this course again. Maybe even a series where you guys upgrade your "affordable" trucks (this one plus Stubby). Keep up with the videos!
Thanks Andre! That was great!👍
Good luck finding a Bronco for that price. Cheapest one I've seen around here locally has been in the upper $50K range.

Andrei: Can I drive your Bronco? Bronco guy (recalling previous video with orange Bronco and door scratches): ...... Yeeees. Andrei: He is not sure. Why?
As much as I like the Ranger, its a slap in the face by Ford locking the LED lights to the Lariat trim.

100% agreed. I have a '21 ranger....it just seems so outdated compared to other vehicles of the same year. No LED lights, the interior...with the new Colorado coming out, the Ranger is falling behind.

@@SergeantBowls but not only that though. The Colorado has multiple types of trim levels I would like to see Ford competing with them. It would be pretty nice to have a factory lift and a bigger selection of options.
You got me liking the Ranger more and more if someone offer me good money for my Ram I might down size to a Ranger dont no for sure , the Danger Ranger will get me in more trouble
Maybe someday a youtube truck comparison will be done with both trucks sporting the same tires...a man can dream...a man can dream.
The only fair way to do these tests is if BOTH vehicles have the SAME tires.
Watching now. Hope yall have killer day 🤙
Just a heads up Destin, never pull in reverse like that. Good way to grenade your diffs.
Ditch those hankooks, or at least let some air out for those conditions

We really want to be a Bronco+Ranger family but a decently priced and optioned Bronco is just unobtainable right now. My wife needs a different car. We will probably just get her a used unmodded JL rubi until the Bronco’s come back down to earth. Who knows, maybe she’ll love the rubicon?
The biggest difference is the RTI. Ford ranger RTI is about 360. Bronco base is probably 450+. Although built Rubicons boarder on 1000 RTI, 360 will get it done for a LOT of cases and if the ranger hikes a wheel , it will probably keep going anyway.
What you are probably neglecting is the Off-Road traction control on the Bronco. I am willing to bet (especially considering that the rims and tires are interchangeable, that the Bronco would have still out performed the ranger on the rims and tires from the Ranger. The Bronco without lockers has a very competent traction control system... yet, no one seems to talk about it much.
Great video..loved it!
0:48 I can see the resemble especially in the headlights.
Loved the video! Just hoped y’all would use all the tools available in the Ranger and test them all throughout the course. I.e trail control in 4H and 4L plus in reverse as well plus locked vs unlocked.

I was wondering if he locked the diff. Thank god I don’t have the stock tires on my Ranger. She would have drove that better than the Bronco! (No disrespect to that Bronco) it’s going to be my next purchase!
Holding your wheel at full lock while in 4WD is really good for trucks. You should keep doing that. But like always, you guys don’t care because you don’t use your own personal money for these vehicles. This is a write off/expense.😊

Isn't it fine at slow speeds and on slippery or lose terrain?
Love that bronco!!!
Very Informative!
I really think the only way to do an honest comparison is to have both vehicles use the same tires. The stock tires on my Sahara 4xe were terrible in the snow. I had no traction at all. The first time I drove with them in the snow was the last time I drove with them in the snow. I swapped them out for triple peak rated Duractracs, and it was a world of difference. This comparison didn't compare vehicles, it compared tires. I was hoing to see how a real world ranger would react in the snow and those tires are not what people would use in real snow. Still - love the channel
The inside tire was spinning on the Bronco. He did a donut turn. Pretty sure you have to apply the brake slightly or go easy on the go pedal for the trail turn.
Bronco! With steelies! Awesome!
Great video. I wish the ranger would head towards a bigger, wider more off road aggressiveness tackling the trails. It needs a better design. Love the bronco.
Looks like the Ranger could make uphill with a bit more momentum and the throttle down: from the video it seems that he left the gas right when the rear right tire was about to pass the log.
I would love to see this repeated with the Ranger on the same tires or get a Bronco on factory tires. Then a true comparison can happen. Thanks TFL.
In the mud we need Nathan become one with Nathan Andre lol its funny to watch him struggle a little 🤣 😂
More of a tire test than anything. Glad I have K02 on my taco
I really enjoy the night videos
Would love to bug a basic or next upgrade Bronco.
Looks like someone needs to take Kinetic Rope Recovery 101 class.
Yeah I don't like the stock tires on the Ranger. They seem to really slip on wet grass and leaves. Also spins easy in the wet. But airing them down to just regular pressure helps a bit bc from the factory they are so over inflated
I love that Bronco. That's the one I'd buy.

Just add the Sasquatch package for 35”’s, bilstine shocks, front & rear locker with 4.7 gear ratio. Perfection !
Hey Bronco guy: It's LOCKERS before lightbars!!!!
Hey guys consider differentbrands of tires like falken wildpeak M/T's and what alot of wheelers use milestar patagonia's
As a Ranger owner my advice is getting rid of the factory tires on the truck.
Put those tires on the Bronco or a Jeep and you get the same results. I just upgraded from the stock Dynapro tires to 33" Nitto Recon Grapplers and now the truck drives off-road like a Wrangler - with the same tires, of course. Love my Ranger FX4 but that was not an apples to apples comparison.
Did the Bronco owner disconnect their BOV recirculation hose? Gotta hear dem turbo noises!
So yes, lights and tires mattered the most..both of which can be added to either. And if you can get a Bronco for 35k, God Bless you ;)
I love my 21 xlt Ranger fx4 package with other options And catch can, the aluminum trans pan, fox shocks upgrade with level kit Want some diff armor and more and better under armour and rock rails and the Ford performance tune and all the lubricants drained and filled with whatever the best stuff is I know more than the average person about vehicles and off roading but not near as much as most of you Does this all seem like good choices? Are there any other things you might suggest? Also i forgot want some extra lighting as well and better off road bumpers
I know someone who had those hankooks on their f-150 and they were trash. I’d say change the tires and give it another try.
That hood deflector really works for bugs.
So essentially this was a tire comparison not a vehicle comparison.
Drop your air pressure down to 25 or 30 psi. It gives you better wheel patch and 4L out of it. It will walkout with no problem.
Doing the video at night makes this video mostly a nice ad for the sponsor
Bronco to the rescue. Always.
Can't wait to see the Ranger Raptor offroad...
If I still had my 2019 ranger with 33 I would love to have put it up against my bronco black diamond on 35 . I also have a base bronco with a 7 speed 2 door..
I'd suggest throwing some proper tires on the Ranger, use like a Goodyear Duratrac or something that isn't terribly common in KZread land. I'm running a 32" duratrac on my '19 ranger with a Fox 2.0 leveling kit, pretty sure it would walk everything that your ranger struggled with.
My dads Mitsubishi Triton could get up that easy. My dads Triton had 31 inch wide car tyres not suited for offroad and got up a slope with mud and pull a nissan navara. Would love to a Mitsubishi Triton vs ford ranger.
Air down to 15-20psi on All Terrain tires when it's slick.
Why didn’t you try the terrain control feature?
I have s 2022 Ranger lariat FX4 and love it. I wish the Bronco had a better towing capacity, would have liked to bought it

The Ranger is better. You did good. Don’t disrespect you Ranger man.
Those Hankook dynapros are junk compared to BF Goodrich KO2's
Turn your front wheels side to side a bit Andre!!!!
The outcome was slightly predictable, but the video was still fun to watch, as always.
BFG KO2 beats whatever the hell was on the Ranger. This is a tire test, mostly. Over before it began.
Obviously this was made for your sponsor but night videos don’t work.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD VIDEO POWER WAGON VS FORD BRONCO ?
Apples VS oranges! Only one of them tastes good in a pie!
bronco has a shorter wheel base ,a one legger but ranger can be had in a super cab with a 6.5' box FX has lim slip dif
Not a base 2019 Ranger. Base Ranger no led lights, no trail management. Put non stock KO2 tires from the Bronco on the Ranger and the results would be different. Also learn how to properly use recovery gear. Dont snatch recovery in reverse.
A Ranger Lariat Tremor should have been used in this comparison. The outcomes would have been completely different. This wasn’t a fair comparison
You should get all terrain tires for the ford ranger
Does he have a blow off valve in the Bronco?
I think is a bit too much light, it need minimum 1 set of yellow or amber light and a green one to match all the green detail on the Bronco.
Many places in America today have fewer and fewer places to actually go off roading today unless you're trespassing on someone's private property, which can often result in GETTING ARRESTED OR SHOT. Ridiculous facts of today's world and $38K for either of these vehicles is just obsurd.
Remember wait is distributed equal on bronco🤯🤯🤯🤯 less wait on back end off ranger🤯🤯🤯👍👍
Push button start switch is not a premium item in my book, nothing wrong with a key in my book.
Going out on a limb here. The Bronco with the better tire makes it. I'm shocked.
“Fordshadowing” 👍🏼
Just started the video and it already doesn’t look very fair since one has bf Goodrich ko2 tires on it
Use the locker & 4-low in the Ranger & you would not have these problems!
Tires tires tires in this situation. The Dyna Pro's are garbage in off-road
Don't give up on the Ranger put better tires on it BFG MK3 I think is the best for Colorado
