Heavy load is where you want to maintain constant voltage, sudden voltage drop under boost may drop fuel pump rpm and can lean out some….maybe not enough to harm anything if you still have the O2 making corrections but last thing i would want to do is shut my alternator off when i stab the throttle on the transbrake with all the electrical stuff pulling pretty much at its peak. Lower voltage draws more amps so i would let it charge 14.8-15.5v going down track so it wont affect fuel or spark under its highest boost level and highest demand on the injectors and coils

Hmmm good point. Didn’t think of it that way. My thought was it’s just dropping back to 13.6 when off like it’s been at this whole time.

@@ThePaintPaperHustle depends on your load demand, be nice to be able to log current demand vs engine load/boost and RPM then you could scale up the charging at the high demand points, like tq spikes on shifts, to possibly aid in some consistentency through out the run. Most likely overly excessive data but i will be logging ours though. Btw double check the one way clutch in the alternator pulley, if belt routing is opposite of factory clutch will roll over and slow the alternator down and not charge right until it melts down lol. I changed to an old school solid pulley before it became an issue. Good luck man

Yes that would be nice. And if you recall awhile back we changed the pulley on the alternator to get rid of the one way pulley

I actually built it myself before I was doing KZread. Very first trans I’ve ever built. Followed a lot of KZread videos and took my time. Spent about a month building it slowly

Be careful wearing your wedding ring using paint thinner because it will make silicone rings expand and they will fall off. It's happened to me several times

ur alternator basically works same as a ford 3g alternator ...iv also heard looping the exciter wire to constant 12 could possibly over charge the system or burn up the alternators built in voltage regulator
