Three hours is fast to do that repair, glad the video helped. Our 5000 was back to turning with in three months but the brake plunger is a problem in it.

No I did most of the stuff on camera myself, some of it is best or safer with two people though. the lift cover is best with two people if using a loader, cherry picker one person could do it though.

Mine its a ford 6610 but it has similar clutch pack, it start runs normal but looses speed along the run and when the tractor pulls off right and looses speed on the run again. What could be the problem?

Hello, very good video. I have a 5000 too, and now I see without taken out parts, from my own, there is a opportunyty to speed up pto! Upper gear bigger, and lower smaller. Single speed about 800rmp?

Post 1968 Ford 5000's you could get a 540/1000 pto, this one is early 1968 and just has 540. you can change the gears but its a lot of work.

@@fyrciakfarms199 It is a -71, and there is service opening down under pto lower gear, does that gear come down from that hole? I know, I have to use 2 sets of gears to take inner parts from and somehow put "faster" outrims from a 1000 gears. Wonder why anyone havent try this before?

What were your symptoms that made you fix the PTO clutch pack?

We though we had to replace the hydraulic pump so we though we would fix the PTO also, hydraulic are still bad and the pto fix lasted for about 6 months.

symptoms are the pto clutch will disengage but the shaft will keep turning if it is with out a load to stop it.
