This the best how to fix video on you tube I have ever watched. No rediculus intro with weird music No talking about the dogs, weather and other personal event not related to the subject matter. It was a pleasure to learn more without the loud music and unrelated commentary Thank you for the help.

Bloody perfect! I just rebuilt my 1967 Ford 3000 Diesel engine and I put the clutch in with the pokey out side toward the engine, the same way it came out. Looks like that is backwards. It still works fine though. I had a Ford New Holland dealer put a new clutch in it when they were doing other work and split the tractor. For the engine rebuild I did all the disassembly and reassembly work myself saving a ton of cash. The problem with the the engine was the #1 cylinder had a broken ring at one time and wore the cylinder so much there was not enough compression to light up the fuel. It worked ok for a while but eventually it started wet stacking, unburned fuel being blown out of the exhaust causing a black goo to dribble out of the vertical exhaust joint. It started missing too so action was required. It runs great now with a .040 over bore, new pistons, rings and bearings. The bearings looked fine but while it was all apart I decided to install new ones just because.

I am impressed by how well she explains things and how comfortable she is in the shop. Her dad has done well . I have two of my own they are not as interested in the shop as she is. But I have tried to show them as much as I can wen they do show an interest in something I'm working on.

Young Lady , I'm so happy to hear you say "throw out bearing, yes mam , and not a clutch release bearing , another thing you stated the adjustment may have been out causing the problem .... but when some one...oh I'm not saying this is what happened , but when you have someone riding with their foot riding the clutch pedal the very same thing will happen ,I think you are great thanks for having a video's out like this one...Philippine John

Another great video!!!! I was watching this one, and my dad started to watch it with me, and he said at the end of the video... "I now want to buy a clutch."... Mind you, he doesn't own a tractor, he was just that impressed with your channel and high class presentation of how you all make things look so possible and easy... Watch, something tells me, he will be a Hit & Miss engine show some time this summer and come home with a tractor now... LOL.... Good job, It really is neat to see my ole man get fired up to play in his shop.. keep the videos rolling..

When tightening down the pressure plate, lift just a little bit on the alignment tool. Everything is sagging a bit, and you want to counter that. Get the clutch disk adjusted so you can pull the alignment tool out with a couple of fingers. Good show, good clear communication, probably one of your best presentations so far.

I was thinking the same thing. If you have to pull it out and it has very much resistance it could be out of line and binding.

We had a 3000 diesel for years. Really used it hard! 5,000 + hours when I sold it. Never had any clutch trouble. Those clutchs MUST be very durable. But of course time and age takes it toll on anything!

A couple things the video doesn't mention, unless I missed it is clutch finger adjustment, or measuring runout on the flywheel. Also, if your going to go through the arduous task of splitting a tractor of this age it would probably be a good idea to replace the rear main seal too. Good video however thanks.
