the bit about the bees reminds me of a past neighbor of mine who threw a fit that 'my birds' were stealing the nesting material that she put out for 'her birds'. ALL BIRDS INVOLVED WERE FULLY WILD ANIMALS. She wanted the nesting material to be solely for the birds that come to her bird feeder, and she was mad because she saw some birds hop over from my yard to take some. Nevermind that the birds that hang out in my yard also ate at her feeders, because they are birds and they have no concept of property

people like to strip away the humanity of anybody who’s convicted of a crime, it’s refreshing to hear these two talk about their clients as the multifaceted human beings that they are. we are all a product of our surroundings. the horror is often not in the crime being committed, but in the system that forces the hand.

Genuinely broke me down into tears just to hear her talk about how it's actually someone's life in their hands, and most people in the system do not care. We're still fighting for our lives in court, and ended up having to represent ourselves (and won those parts that way) solely because any time a lawyer was involved they just did not care and we lost so much because of them... I'm glad there's people like her out there, even though I know it's incredibly draining to exist that way

Listening to Olay and Lolo talk about being public defenders was so cathartic. I worked in care facilities for people with disabilities and had such a similar experience of having everyone wasting your time, writing clients off, and being hostile in the worst ways.

I was a court marshal the same 4 years Lolo was a PD and got burnt so horrifically watching so many vulnerable people have their lives decimated by the system. I've since left and become a licensed therapist

Skip Intro has a couple of videos on Law And Order, specifically about how the show has warped the public's perception to one the prosecution as "seekers of truth and justice" and the defense as "sneaky lovers of criminals", among many other things the show has to answer for.

I keep comin back to hear Olay say “I know you f**kin lyin” at the guy who cooked in the plane bathroom, that whole last 5 minutes had me cackling.

The best thing about having an andriod is that you never have to deal with the green messages bc on your phone. All texts are the same color regardless of who sent it. Honestly, i only switched bc I really wanted the cool flip phone. Totally worth it

this is officially my favorite episode of Sad Boyz.

This isn't relevant to the episode, but I had a dream about Sad Boyz Friday morning and I wanted to share it. So it was actually 2 dreams. In the 2nd dream, I was aware of the first dream, and thought I was now in real life. The first dream was about a brand new Mario Kart coming out. But then it somehow turned into a special episode of Sad Boyz. For whatever reason, Jordan was going by "Dom." "I'm Jarvis" "And I'm Dom." In the 2nd dream, I actually met Jarvis in person. He was just walking around in my neighborhood, and recording another special episode on his phone. Taking selfies is one of his hobbies, so I'm not surprised. He was basically just joking and saying random stuff while walking around. Jordan (Dom) wasn't there, but I can confirm that he was still called Dom in this dream, and I still thought it was weird. I don't think Jarvis was gonna upload this special phone episode. Then I told him about my dream-- how it was Mario Kart and then turned into Sad Boyz, and he thought it was funny. That's basically all that there is to it, aside from loads of small details. I can't believe this explanation is so long, because it's a very simple premise.

I once had a dream that Jordan and I were best friends and we went to university together for dentistry, and then there was a time-skip and us and a bunch of our dentistry student friends went out in the middle of the night looking for people to practice dentistry on. Like...we were freelance dentists? Taking people's teeth in the night? Fixing people's teeth in the night? I have no idea. But I suddenly had this terrible feeling that Jordan had been kidnapped by a local dentist. And then I woke up.

I think Jarvis was correct regarding airheads mystery flavor; this is the "in between" flavors when the machinery used to make it is transitioning from one flavor to the next. "Mystery" here is just genius marketing of previously discarded purge product. Changing the shape of the airhead didn't change the flavor - that changes from batch to batch on its own.

Ok, the airheads thing is important to me for no reason, but it really bothered me. Shaking them DOES NOT change the flavor at all. The "mystery flavor" is just a combination of leftover flavors that haven't had the dye added yet. That's what makes them taste different. Shaking it into a smaller little pod is definitely a more fun thing to do, and I did it a lot as a kid, but it's definitely not the "intended way" to eat it. I don't know why it bothered me so much, but I just really felt like I had to say something.
