    I've watched a few of your videos with fascination. I'm an advocate of science in my own little way by trying to support real science and explain why I disagree with the pseudo scientific woo woo that is so popular with some people. I managed to complete about two years of a chemical engineering program so I have quite a privileged scientific perspective compared to others with no formal education to speak of in math and science. What drives me nuts is when someone honestly and genuinely asks me a perfectly reasonable question like "How do they know how far the sun is?" I feel so embarrassed when I cannot give them a reasonable and satisfactory answer. Thank you so very much for collecting and bringing this information in such an accessible, straight forward and easy to digest format.

    In His Image - Speed doesn't do ANYTHING to us. Why would it? Only acceleration does something to us. Ever flown in a plane at 500 mph? Do you feel constantly pushed back to your seat? Nope. Is it impossible to walk up the aisle? Nope. Because the movement is constant. You only feel it when accelerating or decelerating. All our motions on the spinning and moving earth are constant. No acceleration.

    In His Image - Yes, we are on the outside of a sphere, with GRAVITY holding us to the sphere. Earth's gravity is much stronger than any effects from our constant movement. Of course the atmosphere spins with the earth. This is because of gravity and friction. Think of a blender with liquid in it. The tiny blade at the bottom gets ALL the liquid spinning, because of the friction of the water molecules against each other. Same with earth's atmosphere, it is pulled by gravity, which causes friction against the ground, and friction all the way up air molecule to air molecule. It would take a counteracting force to PREVENT the atmosphere from spinning with the earth. There is no 67k mph wind because the air moves with us.

    This wouldn't do anything to convince flat earthers. There are so many simple things they could do on their own, little children's experiments, that would at the very least disprove their flat earth postulations. But they don't do them because they don't want to face the truth. They could also spend a little cash and fly *nonstop* from Sydney to Johannesburg on Qantas flight 63. According to their flat earth map, Sydney and Johannesburg are 14,500 miles apart, and yet the max range of the airplane (in this case a Boeing 747-400) is 7,300 nautical miles. Hmmm...the plane almost doubles its max range without crashing...every single day! Never mind that the maximum cruising speed of a 747-400 is mach 0.85, or 652 mph, much less than the 1,000+ mph it would have to travel to make the flight on time. Flat earthers are really not into logic, or facts, or simple math.

    it was not Coppernicos,but Aryabhata hindu astronomer mathematician and inventor of zero who proposed the heliocentric model in year 500. 1000 years before europeans.

  • @berylperil8183

    @berylperil8183

    As mentioned, Aryabhata advocated an astronomical model in which the Earth turns on its own axis. His model also gave corrections (the śīgra anomaly) for the speeds of the planets in the sky in terms of the mean speed of the sun. Thus, it has been suggested that Aryabhata's calculations were based on an underlying heliocentric model, in which the planets orbit the Sun,[33][34][35] though this has been rebutted.[36] It has also been suggested that aspects of Aryabhata's system may have been derived from an earlier, likely pre-Ptolemaic Greek, heliocentric model of which Indian astronomers were unaware,[37] though the evidence is scant.[38] The general consensus is that a synodic anomaly (depending on the position of the sun) does not imply a physically heliocentric orbit (such corrections being also present in late Babylonian astronomical texts), and that Aryabhata's system was not explicitly heliocentric.

    While a moving Earth was proposed at least from the 4th century BC in Pythagoreanism, and a fully developed heliocentric model was developed by Aristarchus of Samos in the 3rd century BC, these ideas were not successful in replacing the view of a static spherical Earth, and from the 2nd century AD the predominant model, which would be inherited by medieval astronomy, was the geocentric model described in Ptolemy's Almagest.

    "Correcting" him about Copernicus you just sound like some one who want people to think they are smart. Just because you looked up some fringe information from other cultures doesn't change anything. I'm sure many people had the independent "idea" that the earth or the sun was the center of the universe. It is what anyone would infer from observation. Copernicus WAS the first the create the mathematical model and make it work. Even though he was wrong. Focus on the science sir. Not trivia.

    +Jim Abraham Copernicus was the first to put the sun at the center. I did not say his model was correct. I said he was the first and it did work just not correctly. I said in my post he was wrong so where is my history incorrect? To make a statement that I need to learn some history is just rude and inflammatory. I would be happy to discuss it with you, however the concept of friendly debate seems to escape your thinking. His theory was radically different than Ptolemy. Ptolemy's model was NOT heliocentric. Kepler was a lot later and worked out the laws of planetary motion. Kepler did not come up with the heliocentric theory. If I am wrong about Copernicus, please educate me on what Copernicus did then? And while you are at it correct the following websites too. They desperately need your help! Good day, sir. scienceworld.wolfram.com/biography/Copernicus.html kepler.nasa.gov/Mission/JohannesKepler/#anchor784359 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolaus_Copernicus

    Early Theodore Ritter All I said was that I think Copernicus is OVERRATED. Not that he was not the first to publish the idea of heliocentrism. You understand, don't you, that Copernicus, in his model, puts the sun central, so props for that, but otherwise DOES NOT CHANGE the Ptolemaic system? Do you understand that Copernicus DID NOT provide a WORKING model of the solar system? Whereas Kepler DID. That's all I'm saying, is that in my opinion, it should be called the Galilean/Keplerian/Newtonian revolution, not the Copernican revolution. That's all I'm saying. Not taking anything away from Copernicus. Only recognizing that the idea had occurred to many people, and that being the first in print with "sun's in the middle" is hardly worthy of the same esteem as the accomplishments of Galileo, Kepler, Newton. Galileo have us inertia, Kepler the laws of planetary motion AND elliptical orbits, Newton the foundation for it all. Copernicus just put the sun in the middle, which many had speculated before him. The revolutionary ideas were not Cs, but the other guys. That's all. Take a pill and calm down. What I'm saying is hardly, um, "revolutionary."

    None of that shows the Quran is some kind of science guide. You can talk about "extend" and "expanse" all day long. The context is nothing regarding the expansion of the universe, but merely making a point that yes, even in those days people understood that beyond the firm earth is an infinite heavens. The expanse is mentioned in the Bible in Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning god made heavnes and the earth. The earth was a void and the face of god hovered over the face of the waters of the abyss. You use the word "expanse" to refer to the "heavens" and "the firmament" . No, your Quran does not tell us anything that either wasn't speculated already or already discovered before 615AD IN addition, most of these kind of concepts were 1. In the Christian Bible FIRST. 2. In Greek cosmology Second. 3. In Earlier Egyptian mythology third. The Quran did not discover these concepts, but copied them. From The Bible book of Job 9:8 "Who alone stretched out the heavens..." Split apart - Revelations 6:14 www.iflscience.com/space/ancient-egyptians-knew-about-distant-flashing-star-3000-years-earlier-thought/

    max5250 he absolutely has a point. Which doesn't exclude your argument...(without the insult part of course). Here is a thought: what if, just what if hunger, warfare, human life, are way more complex math equations than any mathematician is capable of conceiving (for now)? My point is when it comes to knowledge, beyond the limitations of our own conditions, any statement can lead to better, deaper, higher understanding. Math is one of the tools, imagination another as Einstein himself stated.

  • @max5250

    @max5250

    @@FromTheHeart2 He has no point at all, since he is mixing science and space exploration with things that are not related (natural science with social science). We already know that predicting events in social science is far more difficult than predicting events in natural sciences, because social science is mor complicated because it depends on much more variables that are difficult to observe, measure or predict its values. When we speak about the knowledge, it is not true that any statement can lead to better understanding, because, if was true, any idiot could contribute to science, but that never happened. In order to get deeper and higher understanding, you first need to understand current knowledge, and find something new that explains observable events better then current knowledge. Imagination sure does help us much, but first we have to understand previous knowledge to acquire some new one.

    max5250 everything is related and intricately intertwined, especially when it deals with the Sun. Every human being is the center of their universe. Your source of wealth including food is as vast as the universe. The Bible clearly tells you, the Lord was the Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end The Offspring of David the Bright Morning Star. Notice it says, Bright Morning Star. It does not say bright yearly star. Also note, that history is part, of social science. Galileo and Isaac Newton we're all part of History and social science, which shaped our economy and way of thinking. I say this with Dynamism, they were hypnotist. Global warming means, the Earth is supplying more farmland. We are about to go to War World War 3 over food. The biggest lie today is there is not enough food to feed the world. Go figure🤔 The Great Eclipse of Aug. 21 2017. Sign of the end times. Life Blocked out. Future blocked! California fires, Las Vegas shootings, tsunamis, hurricanes earthquakes. All life comes from the sun. Food comes from God. To misquote the Sun is to misquote your future. I have proof that this drawing, in this video is nothing more than a hoax. An instrument to prove superiority, of knowledge. If you took the time out to actually look at the solar system yourself, you would see that there are days when the moon is gigantic and 1 day later; it is half the size. This obviously was not caused, by an orbit change. The same goes for the Sun. The Earth, the Sun and the Moon are a living things. They are the most important Trinity that you will ever know. The Sun goes around the Earth every day. The Sun goes around the Moon every day, if you were on the moon ( which = 30 earth days) It takes 29 days for the time relativity, time change. Just as it is 3 hours from the East Coast to the West Coast. Each month or moon 30, days × 12 = 360 Which is a perfect circle. The Earth the Sun and the Moon are perfect circles. Your eyeball is the only other Perfect Circle. God Made You In His Image. 😊 Galileo and the people of the fake moon landing are liars. Math can never be correct if your variables are incorrect. Our society which is social science wants you to believe that months's have 28 days or 29 days or 31 days or 30 days. This is deception! Moving the clock up and down is also another means of deception. That is what makes up the extra 5 days, making it apear to being 365 days a year. Nevertheless most people are happy with this unprovable drawing. That is the real reason why you have starvation War and poverty in the world. And needless to say Godless people; who fail to see, how beautiful they really are and that they are the center of their own universe.

    I have just watched it, am progressively working my way through all. Do you have this set available for sale in HD / on DVD? As a gift for either my 77 year old father, (a life-long amateur), a 16 year old son (looking for somewhere to focus mental energy) or my 24 year old PhD daughter (who is in at least this way a chip off the old block), they would be considered by all a bargain. I really cannot recommend this series enough, thoroughly enjoyable; presentable to audiences from near beginners or just more information and examples to serious amateurs, it's the best out there by a margin. I'd just like to point out to others reading this that I consider myself a low end semi-expert, I was a guest evening lecturer on deep space a a significant college in England, and have tested my own calculations for distances, magnitudes and Supernova masses etc. but still many points are clarified by this series - the best I've seen. Thank you again,
