Dated a girl who literally was all that you described. Thought I could save her, that she just needed love. My Mother, family and friends all told me don't do this...proud and vain, thinking I could do God's work I didn't listen. I gave her everything and it was never good enough. She'd use God against me but when I brought up that she wasn't in line with God she said "why are you bringing God into this?". I learnt my lesson.. In the end I was left broken but Jesus used this to humble me and draw me closer to Him. God used this to make me realise how far I was from HIM. To anyone in the same place- REPENT and turn to God and HE can turn even a horrible experience into a blessing. God is good.

I had an experience very much like this. Although the girl I dated wasn't Christian at all. I thought I was meant to save her but ended up miserable in the end. But it did really put my faith in perspective. I've been Christian my whole life and never really had it challenged to that extent before. It made my realized how grateful I was to have God in my life and how it was something I wanted to maintain going forward.

I needed to hear the last two. My last relationship was full of both of us constantly unsatisfied with each other. I wanted a better body out of her, she wanted a voice deeper than her ex's. Everytime I met her I treated her like a lollipop that when I was done I just throw the stick in the trash. Above all, I was lost. So I never loved her because I never knew God and I wanted things to go my way because that's all I knew, ME ME ME ME ME. Women are a whole blessing from God and since that's the truth, then I no longer want to be in the place of the real designer❤️

Hello brothers and sisters in Christ! I'm just asking for some prayer - recently one of my sisters has started exhibiting symptoms of Alien Hand Syndrome, except she's had no trauma to her brain. I refuse to believe that this doesn't have a cure, and if the neurologist says we can't I believe God can. I don't know what's causing it but I know that somewhere deep in my soul it feels diabolical, every time I witness the symptoms I have an almost uncontrollable urge to just grab her arms as tight as I can and pray so I feel like it may be demonic? Whether it is or not, I refuse to believe it doesn't have a cure. Thank you for your time everyone, all glory be to God. 🙏

It’s very hard to do these days, don’tcha think? A lot of women in my generation couldn’t care less about God, are hyperfixated on their baby-daddies, would rather be for the streets (as the women of this world say it), and would rather settle for bottom of the barrel when it comes to men. All of this from personal experience, and especially since I’ve tried so hard being my authentic self. Though I am dating someone of the same sex, there was sufficient reason, and it’s because I have dealt with way too much hurt from the opposite sex, which I have undoubtedly gotten *VERY* tired of. So y’know what? God help me if my choices have ended up failing me in the end, but chasing after lost causes & women who mock God only leads to inevitable failure. I’m tired of trying, and God bless me for getting out while I still could.

Kinda hard to tell what the argument is but I'm going to say a dude gotta follow teachings of God first and foremost and I'm pretty sure he said that molding someone or forcing someone into what you want to be ain't the right thing to do. Pretty sure not wanting to get with someone who's got no self respect and has shown her butt to hundreds of random dudes on the Internet for attention is valid. If you're gonna be in a relationship ya gonna be bound to want your partner to dress appropriately or at least talk to them about a compromise or something. Just cause a lady doesn't want to listen to the opposite gender doesn't mean the lady is right. Well that's my thoughts anyway if ya think I'm wrong or hateful ya got the free will Jesus gave you to do so 👍

I love how you talk about how God molds us!! Like, no one (except for Jesus of course) is perfect as we are, and everyone needs Jesus to sculpt us into the men and women of God we are meant to be. I heard this once and LOVED it: I think for singles it’s important to remember that rather than constantly obsessing over the person you are meant to be with, focus on the person you are. Ladies, rather than endlessly searching for your man, become the woman of God he is looking for, And men, rather than endlessly searching for your woman, become the man of God she is looking for. As a single lady myself, this can be really tough, and I get distracted way too much, but I know it is worth remembering and valuing!!!❤️

As a single Christian guy, thanks for the advice, but I'm not interested in dating and I'm also not interested in a relationship. I have went through so much Hell when I was dating (Like how I got accused of something I never did. That was worse than going through an Act of Congress and I'm surprised that I didn't get in trouble...) that my heart has pretty much turned into a heart of stone and has turned down the idea/thought of dating then marriage. I don't care to date any more. I don't care to get married anymore. Younger me wanted a girlfriend so badly (I was lonely and wanted a girlfriend badly) but me now being 19, I don't care to have a girlfriend and I don't care to get married and I've been like this for about about a year now. And I'm fine being "alone", I got my Father, my Savior, and my Spirit, 3 in 1, and that's more than enough for me. I've turned down many girls politely and I've explained to them that I'm not interested in dating. And these same girls still have huge crushes on me- it get's annoying sometimes if they make it obvious. If I even notice I should say... I've gotten to the point where girls can give off obvious hints that like me more than as a friend and I will be completely oblivious to it. Like I won't notice at all. I can catch on to many things pretty quick but when it comes to the idea of dating and marriage, you lost my attention

Being single is a blessing, you don’t have to worry about dependents. Also if you choose to be a eunuch, you get a greater reward, perhaps even something His Sanctuary. So either way single or married, both are a blessing.

The hardest thing I’ve heard in a recent teaching was “would you want to marry a person who isn’t serious about the Lord or who isn’t content with Jesus alone?” That hurt bc, as a woman who is waiting, I don’t see any where in Scriptures where we see a woman going after a man for a husband. So it’s kinda left in the guys’ court. And I def don’t wanna settle for an Ishmael when God has an Isaac for me.

@@calebpagan2226 nothing wrong with the desire in and of itself. But it still stands and boils down to this: even if you never got married, would you be satisfied with Jesus alone? I think many people get stuck when posed with that perspective. Nothing wrong with wanting to get married. God said marriage is good! But does one think a fulfilled life is in marriage? Or having kids? Etc… is it “Jesus AND this or that?”

You trust God to prepare and send him while you're submitted to Him and doing His will. It's not doing nothing but there is a degree of passivity that's part of the order. You really don't want to do the man's part for him or you will be carrying the relationship and end up resentful.

No, but you just need to acknowledge that the behavior of your father heavily impacts your perception of men and society as a whole. So long as you can realize that and not let it impact you in negative ways then you'll be fine. Daddy issues are real and they cause lots of problems for women. I would be fine marrying a woman that had an abusive father so long as it didn't cause her to lead a destructive lifestyle from those experiences.

No contention is not about what the other person has done, it’s also whether you have dealt with the situation l. Most people have father issues of some sort but it’s whether you’ve worked to release it in you. Most people don’t get counsel on things, myself included because we think we fine. These things show up in our marital relationships a lot and with our kids. So if you’re open to counsel/therapy it helps bring awareness to HOW those things affected you to you don’t have to affect your future relationship too❤

  • @pinkroses135

I would add emotional maturity/availability, some domestic skills, communication skills, conflict resolution skills, some skill(s) that could bring money in, financial responsibility, childrearing skills if you want them. Submission (with an added on board facet if there aren't kids in the picture), which is really being receptive and putting the ball in your court while trusting God, having her own life or interests yet an ability to gel with you easily...and probably some others I'm forgetting right now. Besides putting God first. Women should have their house somewhat in order in their own way.

If I may, the Bible states that songs were meant for the Lord, and that music is holy & pure. Explicitly, listening to heavy metal isn’t a sin, as long as you listen in moderation. Like, balancing between heavy metal & gospel music. At least, that’s how I view it.

I've just accepted that I'll be single forever. I'm sickly and underemployed as a result, not attractive, and shy. I'll make myself useful to my church by laying down a 4 on the floor beat to mediocre CCM for 30 more years, and then I'll die, buried by the grandkids of people I hardly know now. But after that is the good part anyway, I guess. :')

Focus on God's love for you. People will always let you down, even your significant other. God's love is unconditional. Humanity's "love" is not. Remember that. Throughout the entire old and even new Testament, God choses people based on their hearts and not their appearances.

I’m genuinely curious and wonder how I can respect my father in a Godly way. My father thinks he’s a prophet, but he is evil in character. He thinks it’s funny when people suffer or get hurt, he drinks to drunkenness, curses like a sailor, he’s violent, very abusive. When he divorced our very steadfast mother we worried he would hurt or kill her. I used to want to say awful things about him but now when he is mentioned I don’t try to disparage his name but I do tell people what he’s doing cause I don’t want to lie. I want him to be saved but I can’t talk to him, he’s a very scary man.
