I saw this movie opening night and the theatre was packed. When the final dance scene came on everybody in the theatre got up and started dancing. When we got in the car to leave, I turned on the radio and the theme song to Footloose was playing. I dropped the windows and cranked the stereo to ear bleeding overdrive, as I did so everybody within earshot started dancing in the car park. My friend and I got out and danced along with them. What happened to those great times?

He was really good and thats an understatement. Went to a party one night and he had everyone's mouths open to the floor. The brothas was like god dayum! Who is this dude! I was an amateur popper and I packed up my game when I saw him! That's how good he was in person. You just watched. I always wondered what happened to him. The plot of "Footloose" was loosely based on events that took place in Elmore City, Oklahoma dancing was banned in Elmore City for almost 100 years but in 1980 the ban was lifted and the graduating class of Elmore City High School was able to have their very first prom.

The amazing thing about this scene is that it takes all day, possibly several days to get the lighting, camera angles, and blocking right for every single shot when you're shooting a movie. And then it takes about the same amount of time to edit it all together into an actual movie scene. These poor people must have been absolutely exhausted.

That pop dancer went to UC Berkeley. He lived across the courtyard from me back in 1983 in Unit 3. Unless he was visiting, but I am pretty sure he was a student. Haven't seen many come close to his ability.
