Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. thank you! It's something I only realized fairly recently after 30+ years arguing with people over incidents! Makes no sense when we are literally watching a different game!

Kind of. But also even those who understand it can see a completely different thing from another person who understands it. Level of understanding, past experiences, inherent bias and other factors all affect what people see when watching the same incident unfold (so they are basically watching a different incident).
