This is a Dutch vocabulary lesson in a series of 40 videos, with each video lesson containing 25 Dutch words, a course with the goal to speak Dutch, developed by Bart de Pau "1000 most common words in Dutch".
The Dutch course (cursus Nederlands NT2) is aimed at beginners, who want to learn Dutch vocabulary fast. Of each word, you see the Dutch word and the English translation, and a picture. For learning Dutch pronunciation, each word is repeated twice.
Best way to study the Dutch language lessson is:
- watch the video 1 or 2 times
- study the word list www.learndutch.org/online-dutc...
- do the test; repeat it if you made mistakes
- no mistakes in the test - then go to the next lesson
This is a free course. Bart de Pau is an online Dutch Tutor at learndutch.org and program manager at the Dutch Summer School, www.dutchsummerschool.nl (Intensive Dutch courses in Amsterdam and Drenthe during July and August).
This course deals only with vocabulary. Learning a language is more than that!

Hi Bart, I really like your lessons and they help me memorize what I've learnt in class. There's just one thing I'd like to point out: Many of your videos contain gender stereotypes. I'm sure you don't mean any harm, but in my opinion it's something you might want to consider for future videos.

Hallo Bart...very nice lesson...but, i think you need to incluse other important words used on football.Like(Pardon, ik weet dit niet in Nederlandse...)...you'll need to translate - tecnico do time, maca, drible,banco de reserva,intervalo,arbitro de video,chuteira,camisa do time, substituição de jogador,apito(apitar).I hope to help you.Dankuwel!

I used to live in Cuba, and like football but know baseball better. Netherlands won the Baseball World Cup in 2011 (Gefeliciteerd!) and I hope you win the football one also soon.

Hallo Bart, ik hou van voetbal, and i certainly did like your lesson! "Oranje" and such was an important one to add here for sure. A suggestion: could you please add "totaalvoetball" somewhere? And say something short like "this was the style we used to become the team we are" or something? And possibly include Johan Cruijff somewhere in there? Because, i mean, it is very important to Dutch football. Without Cruijff and Michels and their totaalvoetbal, perhaps we wouldn't even be learning a lesson dedicated to almost entirely football in Dutch! Dank je wel, and i have to say your lessons are so helpful to me :) tot ziens!

Hoi Bart, Ik merkte op dat veel Nederlanders spreken de lettergroepen "lf" en "lk" (bijvoorbeeld heLFt, zeLF, woLK) met een bepaalde klemtoon uit, zoals [luff] en [luk], terwijl in het Engels zouden ze meer vloeiend worden uitgesproken. Misschien geldt het ook voor andere tweeklanken. Is deze de genormaliseerde uitspraak dat we zouden moeten leren of alleen een eigenaardigheid dat kan blijven genegeerd?
