Hey mate. Great vid. Would be good to get some tips from you on how to setup when you know how the opposition is going to play.. I.e how to counter, a counter attacking team, how to breakdown a defensive team, how to defend against a better attacking team.

What a channel so clear too! I support Chelsea haha

not just saying this but this is by farrrr the most informative FM channel i have ever came across. i have literally sat and watched about 3 hours worth of footage!. The experiments you have done are EXACTLY the sort of thing i have think of and wonder what the results would be. Your the first person i have came across who has done the this type of thing and has made me fall back in love with FM knowing its not all just random BS. Lower a players consistency to their worst and it reflects exactly as it should! i worried it wouldnt make a difference but glady it did. im learning so much watching your video, i thought i knew a lot about FM but you have shown me so much i didnt know! - i felt compelled to write a comment to say Thank you and great great channel! @@fm-life599 There is soooo much content i can see why you probably get that way but for me and so many other people who dont comment (because i rarely do and almost didnt coz im lazy lol) that will be thinking the same as me and find it so informative but havent left a comment. i wasnt aware of the players personality being so important in the CA improving. That experiment you did on the young watford player showed a big difference in having a more driven personality opposed to an average none leader style one. So far ive seen the Messi (consistency) vid and the Personality experiments, these were based on hidden attributes. do you have many other ones like that? its good to know that its not just put into the game for show or to fill it out and that it actually affects the game! dont feel pressure to make videos, do them coz you enjoy it.. never do it feeling forced... but know theres people out there who will be appreciating what you do :) even a year on from when you made it. im still playing 18 atm. think im going to look at your training ones next. i did notice you said consentration was one of your key attributes when looking for players. have you noticed a big difference on players with poor concentration?

Yeah concentration will make a player less likely to make a poor decisions during a match. Can be vital for you CDs

@@fm-life599 okay mate cool. i have soooo many fm related questions do you mind me asking them? first one, if im looking at a scout to find me a wonderkid (the next messi) etc and he has 20 for potential ability and 20 for current BUT the rest of his mental stats are terrible. so discipline, motivation etc etc are all like 1/2/3. can he still be relied upon to gave an accurate assessment and find a wonderkid??? like why are all the other attributes even necessery if he has 20 which is telling me he has the MAX ability spotting there is?? understand where im coming from, i know the other stats are needed for your coaches to be able to give 5 star coaching irrespective of if they are max for there specific training role... i.e attacking coach with 20 in attack wont give me 5 stars if his other key attributes are rubbish. i just dont get how it works with a scout as the attirbute is telling me he has max 20 for spooting X talent? will he or wont he though?? its confusing. its telling me hes the best at spotting PA and CA but has the worst other stats... i know it affects coaches but it doesnt make sense for a scout? make sense??

I can't get through the group stage with Ajax in the CL. Is it because the ability of player/team skills are just less compared to Arsenal/Liverpool/MAN U/MAN C, or am i just using the wrong team tactics? Also, in some periodes of the season, my team completely lacks of form, and can not even win ostensibly the easiest matches.

Bearing in mind 4 months have gone by since your post... how has this helped?

Some of the tactics that work best in game are usually the ones that have synergistic team roles and instructions on right? I'd like to create counter attacking tactic that plays deep in it's own half but then quickly closes down and uses wide forwards to transition. Doesn't seem like FM18 in it's current form encourages that. I tried a deep line with high closing down but any half decent team just exploited the space and scored. Whereas if I kept a deep line and refused to close down, instead moving with the forwards with tight marking enabled, they would have a lot of possession but very few clear cut chances and only long shots to speak of. Even then conceding 30 shots on goal every game doesn't seem like parking the bus. Is there a way to cut those out with out closing down? Playing narrower?

+Kaivalya Divekar you could try tight marking and moving the defensive line a bit. Also it depends on your formation. You might want a DM as a screen for your defensive line

Hi, talking about team instructions, my question is, based on what you said, you said to to clean it all, cuz it makes feel players confused about all that. The same thing is for persoanl palyer instructions? cuzi mean if i manage a little team and i have a guy who is better than other in passges, i put "take more risk" in his personal instructions, the same for "takling", or "long shots". If i have a player that is clearly better then the average to do something , i can instruct him, or he will get "confused"? thanks

and let's say if i put the team instructions, for example short passages to maintain the ball, and to the best player i say to make more direct passages and take more risks, he will follow his personal instructions or the team ones? cuz my idea would be to put short passages to all, unless for him. I manage a third norhtern ireland tie squad named Newry, and i have to say they all suck in passages xD

thats on FM18. its not direction its links with players that have played together

FM-Life how can i add that "bench" (7 players) in the right side of the initial team; and the analysis with positive and negative aspects of the formation that is being used below the initial team

miguel vilas the analysis tab is only there on FM18. If you're playing FM18 I'd say you don't have those things due to screen resolution. My resolution is 1920x1080. If you don't have a monitor that produces that you might want to try and zoom out the game via settings

I've a lot of pacey players in my team and I play a shorter passing style. Do I play with a faster tempo or slower tempo?

+Kaivalya Divekar have the pacey players got good "off the ball"? If so I'd play pass into space. The tempo and shorter passing won't really unlock their speed

FM-Life They do have good off the ball stats, I'll try passing into space. Another issue I have is my striker seems extremely isolated when playing I'm front of three others. It's like they completely bypass him as a passing option. All the goals either come from the attacking mezzala or the wingers. He's on a complete forward role on support but is there too many players in the same space? Should I set him as a role that just works far up ahead without getting involved much like the advanced forward?

FM-Life Also what combination do the newer roles work best in? Such as Carrilero and Inside winger? I don't see much use in having a midfielder who's only going to be a a lateral passing and covering option. Doesn't the deep lying playmaker do this already?

Simon Wright that's on for FM18 and shows a link between 2 players that have played together in the same tactic for a number of games

Simon Wright yeah maybe. Do you have the green, red and orange squares on the pitch. Otherwise you'll need to change the tactic pitch to analyst

great video just shame i wont be buying fm19 cos no point in wasteing money on the game if im going to lose every game again.

@@fm-life599 iv swapped tactics n tweaked them on every fm iv played n still havent won a single game on the game n iv even swapped teams n lost every game n iv been relegated with spurs liverpool. man u. chelsea. so may not bother getting the game at all.but if i do ill defo contact u on twitter.

@@fm-life599 i use a 4231 it was a tactic that i found on a fm16 video n it worked for the person in the video. so duno wat is going wrong but every game im losing 3-4 nil or can be 2-0 up n lose 3-4 goals.

The 4231 was overpowered a few years back. It doesn't work as well in FM18 but it all depends on the balance of your player roles and team instructions
