Thank you so much dear for another great lesson . Definitely these lessons are quite nice because we use all these verbs and vocabulary in daily conversations and situations, I crawl when I play with children , I jump rope daily I also squats while I do exccersie I use to hop with my friends when I was as a child and it was a kind of play in our country. children kick the ball when they play football or usually they kick whenever they fight with each others .

Yes, it's good to study different vocabulary. There are words we need for more academic/professional situations, but there are also words that are useful to know for our everyday lives. Thank you for sharing your examples. Yes, I could have mentioned the game hopscotch. I played that as a little girl and with my own kids where they were much younger. Small corrections: ...it was kind of a game in our country. / whenever they fight with each other.

Hi Jennifer.! Again I appreciate your dedication with us and consider it is a very useful class. Thank you! My answers to your questions: 1. I'm not good at kicking a soccer ball. 2. I can sit patiently most of the time. However, sometimes I lose control and then I get up and pace back and forth. 3. I never walk and text at the same time because I could trip and fall. 4. I think crawling can be good for phisical fitness in the sense of moving the body, but I do prefer to squat down or lunge when I'm exercising. 5. I walk quietly and fast in order to not disturb people and make good use of the time. Greetings!!!

@Englishwithjennifer
5 жыл бұрын
Yes, there's quite a lot to describe. You can go to YouGlish and search for words like trip, stumble, fall, etc. and you'll see different uses. Remember that "trip" is also a noun and can refer to our travels to another place. Context is very important to understand how words are used.
Very nice and useful. I walk slowly without making any noise. I think I'm a slow walker. I never prefer to type and walk at the same time; it's really dangerous sometimes. I jog and run in the morning. I've never been on a soccer team. I was very bad at it but I used to play it with my street friends when I was at school; they often made me stand at the goal post.
@Englishwithjennifer

It's great that you jog and run each morning. You're in better shape than I am. I played kick ball as a kid, but I wasn't very good at it either. I didn't really play soccer. You can say, " I used to play it with the kids on my street." You can also say, "They made me play goalie."

Another amazingly helpful video! I’m just curious that why “stamp” and “stomp” have similar spelling and mean the same... You can say “stamp the foot” or “stomp the foot”, either is ok, right?
@Englishwithjennifer
5 жыл бұрын
Hi Susan. How are you? :) Yes, "stamp" and "stomp" are basically the same. In dancing, cheerleading, etc. we talk about a stomp and not a stamp. See examples: www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/stomp www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/stamp One pattern I see is that you can stand in once place and stamp OR stomp your foot. But personally I think it's more common to stomp up and down the stairs, stomp across the floor, or stomp out of the room. (stomp = walking noisily)
'You're going to have to put a carpet on that staircase, Jennifer. A carpeted staircase is a must for everyone with a stomping daughter :>) Stretch your legs' is also a popular expression for getting some exercise after a long time in a seated position.
@Englishwithjennifer
5 жыл бұрын
LOL I asked my daughter to stomp up the stairs. She readily agreed to film that scene. :) A carpet would soften sounds, but we have a dog, so it would also trap all the fur. "Stretch one's legs" might make it into a future sequel. Again, I had to stop myself from continuing the list. Arch one's foot, etc.
