I'm an English teacher in a country as beautiful as yours, Brazil. I can say that you are one of the best teachers I have ever seen. I found your channel last week, and I'm already a fan. My wife even said that you explain things like I do, with a light spirit and humour. I'm very happy that there is a professional like you; and you helped me a lot to find a way to better approach Phrasal Verbs, which is something very difficult for Romance language speakers to understand. God bless!

I've always looked for a someone who could explain the logical perspective lying behind the phrasel verbs such as break up, look up, go on, keep on, come up, better off - because I can't lay any knowledge in my long-term memory if I can't get the basic logical reason of why this or that is used that way. I thank you for this great job. We learners highly suffer from the lack of teacher doing it the way yo do. I suppose that almost all native speakers don't chew over the reason of why they use "better" with "off" when they want to talk about improvement. Because they've embraced it as it is since their childhood, but for anyone who's trying to keep any phrasel verb in their word reservoir, it's crucial to get to know its underlying perspective.

Altre Frontiere - I am not a native speaker myself, but, on second thought, I think you’re absolutely right. Good point. “You nailed it” is more like a chunk of language, a ready to use idiomatic expression, more naturally used without a correct verb tense concern. Thanks!

This was exactly the explanation I was looking for. Thanks for such a great lesson and mainly, for the will to really help beyond the marketing. When someone gives you a list of phrasal verbs, that won't really help as they are countless and depending on the situation or person, will be relevant or not. But understanding the basis behind them, gives elements for us to understand any meaning. Thanks!

Do not worry a lot man! I was actually the same way as you. I was not proficient at English as of now. This is going to happen to you a lot but the more you watch and listen the better your brain and your mouth are connected to spill out some sentences without even thinking in them. Do not get frustrated and keep going I bet your doing such a great job so far!
