Summary 1. Stay present a. While listening to other people, don't try to translate every word. b. Don't try to make a response. c. Perfection is the enemy of fluency. 2. Make English a necessity a. Make English speaking friends b. Make a commitment to yourself to practice. Whatever your daily life demand might be, try to find a chance to listen. For example, listen on youtube on how to repair a laptop, a recipe... 3. Movies, TV shows, audio books... that you are interested in. 4. Listen in many accents. That's all. Thanks Teela with Deep English!

Yes, you're a teacher and you speak clear and slow so I can understand you a little bit more, while different people on KZread speak anyway with half words, etc... Crazy!!

"Stay present", It is the best tip I've ever heard.
"Perfection is the enemy of fluency" is so true. Thank you so much
Four tips: #1 Stay present - don't translate every word the other person says in your head. - don't try to make your response to what they're saying while they are still speaking. - perfection is the enemy of fluency. #2 Make learning English a necessity - make a friend who only speaks English. - try to use English to solve daily problems. #3 Movies, TV Shows, Audio #4 Listen to many accents

I've to confess that i understood a speech literally first time. I am a Turk and i was good at speaking or writing and reading but wasn't at listening and i just improved my listening skills thanks to you. And exactly the first tip is more helper to enhance my listenin' skills. Thank you so much for this video and your sincerity. I will watch your all videos as possible as i can. I hope that could write correct. You are a perfect teacher 🖤
I also appreciate this one : "stay present". It will be very nice to apply it while speaking as much it requires many efforts from the speaker.
Nowadays, KZread is the best way to practice a listening skill. There are many videos on any subjects.

What about russian :)
I understood almost everything you said😁✌️Hi from Russia
All tips are really helpful. But one tip that I want to follow immediately is 'Stay present'. Sometimes I concentrate on a word which I don't know the meaning or I can't understand. It makes me not to understand the whole meaning of the sentence and context. And it also stresses me out and then I get tired. From now on, I will not foucus on a word and be obsessed with perfection. Thank you teacher Teela. Your lessons are really really helpful to me.
Thanks for your useful tips! And I was really blown away when I learnt your last tip: "Listen to many accents". I never thought about this but when I looked back, this seemed to be the reason I failed in my IELTS exam.
I loved #4 "listen to many accents" tip because it's very important to advise people that English is not only British or American. There are other people around the world speaking English, so the variety of accents is HUGE! Thank you for your videos. They are great!
Hi there Teela, I just wanted to thank you a lot about the way you teach and speak the English language, I have already learned tons over your amazing videos posted here. I will pretty sure try the tip you shared about watching series and movies with and without subtitles through Netflix. I hope I would be able to improve my listening skill in this way, it might be both fun and helpful. Blessings to you and your crew, Teela.
perfection is the enemy of fluency. This frase to me was awesome!
Stunning!!!! Listen and.watch ... In the language you're learning!!! 1. Books in audio 2. Videos 3. Movies 4. News
Listening with subtitles is my first step to become fast learner. Especially in listening and Reading. Thanks a lot for your help teacher Teela. 😊
thank you Teela. frankly I am interesting to follow your video lessons. your advices are valuable.
Stay Present! Excellent suggestion! Thank you

Hi Would you like to pratice english with me?
Thank you very much .you’re great. I think your tips are very helpful, and in my opinion the first tip I’ve to use is “stay present “.
Thank you for the class. Listening has been my hardest part to learn. I will use the first tip you gave. I try to listen the words and forget the persons: the gestures, the tone. It is a good point.
Hi, Teela, your advice to stay present and to listen to many accents is so useful. Thank you. :)

I will stop translating every words the others say and stop thinking with what i have to respond while they are talking Big thanks for the wonderful tips , l truly need it
Its easier said than done ! Beautiful
I just listen conversarions and videos on youtube, trying to catch each word, It doesn't matter if I don't undestand all about they are talking, but every day I undertand more words. In a week It has helped me a lot.
My tip is listening to your voice. And watch you on KZread every day. 🌷
I have never seen such a beautiful English teacher before.
Teela speaks very clearly, I really enjoy listening to everything she says. I wish I had a teacher like her when I was in high school.
Stay present is the tip I'll staring for improvement my listening in English thank you so much for indicate the best point to me
For sure, I'm going to use every single tip, probably at the same time if it's possible. And thank you so very much, your recommendation is very helpful for every ESL student.
I've listened a lot of english teachers in KZread, and this madame is fantastic, the best teacher. She has the feel, the "touch" that every one is looking for learning english. Thanks. Greetings from Mexico. (Espero que sigas aprendiendo mucho español. Felicidades).
All of your tips are helpful and so clear. I try to listening more and more English videos in KZread. Thank you so much.
Thank you very much, dear Teela! Your advice has slightly reduced my confusion. I have been studying English for many years. I understand everything you say (or 90-95 percent), but I need English subtitles for confidence, otherwise I feel like a person without support. At the second listening, I set the speed to 0.75, so that I could also mirror repeat after you. The fact is that I read: working on pronunciation improves listening comprehension. I am a Russian speaker, and the problem of most Russian speakers is that they hardly speak English. Stupor in speaking. I don't know why, but it is. I have reached the Intermediate level in learning English, and I am stuck on it. I started learning German from stress, and I really like it. Only now I was able to return to English. Thank you again.

I'm so proud to found your #1 tip by myself (by force myself to watch news TV channels) And it looks like the tip #2 did actually bring me to your video. Thanks that KZread and YOU exist. I still learn so much and being more grateful at the same time. Love how you speak from the 2nd language learner's view which means you speak listener's mind 🤘🏼😊
Thank You Teela, Very good, I'll try to listening to the KZread my needs.
Thanks professor, i Loved to hear you talking english, and everything you told us is very important, in special when you sad about don't worry to be perfec. Thanks so very much!
Hi Teela... I think the tip number #2 is the most important. Because when you have a necessity to use english, don't stop at the first obstacle or first difficulty, you need to keep moving until reach your goal. This's my thinking ! Best ...
Thank you so much for your tips😄😄 I’ve been learning english for years, and I watched your video in English to know how to learn English. Also, I’d like to comment, and I did it in English. Maybe there would be someone replying to me in English and I might need to response in English. And I think these are necessities🤣🤣
Very nice tips! Thank you so much!
Thank you for your sharing. ”Don't try to be perfect.” is very good advice. 👉🏽Tip#2 and Tip#3 Thank you and keep doing it.

Great lesson , thanks.
