These are just a few of the ways I try to minimise food waste whilst also having those fresh foods all throughout the colder months. A video where you create backpacking meals would be great!!
you can go to the bakery departments of large grocery stores and they will save their icing buckets for you. I have several I just picked up from my local grocery store and am going to plant arugula in them, but I may try your hydroponic method, too. What I love about re-using the icing buckets is they are food grade and are no longer ending up in the landfill!
Please you don’t even know how useful these are. People should really start watching and PRACTISING these things from you. I feel like you are going to be one of the persons who’s going to safe this earth.
Whenever I have a shitty day and I see you posted a new video, I know I will feel better. Thank you. You just calmed me down, literally in matter of minutes. You are my internal anger manager whenever I get mad at the world for not doing much better :)
You could cut a few more holes in your bucket and use it to grow strawberries in the spring. I have a similar setup.
Just made my first batch of fruit rollups from fruit that was destined for the bin... wowee they are GOOD. I'm so glad I gave it a go!
With the insane food prices of the current times, using up all one’s food and veggie scraps just makes sense and more cents!! Ⓜary💕🌿
Ask for buckets from a burger place. I do that from pickle buckets from my fast food job that just get tossed. They are five gallon food safe plastic
I love dehydrating fruit!
I've been looking for a consori second hand around my city to start doing this. No luck yet. So glad you did a video on these topics!
Your videos make me so calm and inspired to do better ❤
Hi, Immy. I am a recent subscriber and have been inspired by your videos to approach food preparation with a sense of fearlessness. Even if something is not perfect, as least I have learned a new skill. Regarding knitting: are you familiar with the work of Elizabeth Zimmerman? Her books taught me how to customize a pattern (or to make my own pattern) so that all my garments fit me! Most of her knitting involves circular needles, and her thumb trick REVOLUTIONIZED the way I knit mitts. I look forward to all your meal prep videos and to hearing about your reading journey
Have you ever tried sun drying fruit? So good
I love my Lomi - thank you for introducing me to it.
Hello i am from India, and i love your videos and your voice, as well as you so much inspired me 😊
Love the pasta idea! Looks delicious! I have that same dehydrator, and it has saved me BIG time food waste.
I am going to get those small baskets for plants and do that bucket-method of hydroponics you showed in this video!
I haven't started gardening yet, but I saw HAWAII URBAN GARDENER set up a Kratky Hydroponic system that looked interesting.
This was as an awesome video-I love seeing all of your experiments and awesome ideas!
Watch Keep On Growin' With Mike VanDuzee to learn how to stack buckets growing from the sides with pool noodles. Home Depot also sells food grade white buckets 😁
