Say what you want about matpat but it’s just insane in the best way that he’s able to put in 100 hours of research based on the question “is coffee a soup”

Well tea isn't water flavored by seeds, it's usually leaves so it might be more of a broth than a soup. I personally don't recall any fruit being a leaf of any plant.
@MarcusBuer

Teas can be flavored by cereal seeds, like Barley tea. But as barley is starchy, it would be a porridge.
@grabble7605

@@MarcusBuer "Barley tea" is not tea. People are just too dim-witted with their vocabulary to use words right.
The issue with the sandwitch thing is legality, you can't have 2 restaurants too similar next to each other in like a mall, because they become redundant, but if the main difference between two restaurants is debated, someone has to decide if it's similar enough
We are all part of the Soup Group now if Coffee AND Tea are soup
Can't believe MatPat ruined hot bean juice for me!
Going by this logic, tea is a broth made of leaves which you 'boil' in the water and then remove.

Now for the follow-up question... IS THE OCEAN A SOUP?
The cold and hot meal stuff is the bane of snap recipients, can't tell you how many times an item was a "heat and eat' (microwave) version of a warm meal and I couldn't buy it with snap

"Fact"
Coffee gravy is a thing, just usually not just coffee but coffee with pan drippings from ham or bacon like red eye gravy. It can be added to other things, too, just not a large amount; like chili or black beans for some depth of flavor.
Matpat did also make a video about tea so
@MorePatterrz

hmmmm
MatPat also just recently made a video about the proper way to drink tea. You should watch that as well.
A pizza is a sandwich. So is a hotdog.
Imo coffee is technically a tea. As explained, soup (put very simply) fuses the water with the other ingredients that aren't necessarily in the final product, though they are, to some degree, mixed. But, as Mat stated, soup is considered a food, not a beverage. You know what is almost the exact same thing but considered a beverage? Tea. Thank you

@rafi...___

its not tea, i think its more like choco
@Raevahn
Жыл бұрын
Coffee is made from water going through a filter of ground roasted seeds with a base of steamed milk added afterwards. Tea is made from cut leaves put into a boiling water base. Soup is typically made by boiling (non-)pulped meat, vegetables, and/or some other stuff in a broth or water base. So no, coffee is neither a tea or a soup, but its own thing called 𝒸𝑜𝒻𝒻𝑒𝑒 which includes hot chocolate (unless you're a madman that uses water instead of milk for hot chocolate)
Tea is more soup than Coffee since you use tea leaves and not grounds.
Coffee is a solution. "a liquid mixture in which the minor component (the solute) is uniformly distributed within the major component (the solvent)"
"Can you have a hot juice?" Haven't you ever had hot apple cider? If not, you're seriously missing out.
@8:55 i'll remember this when he trys to say its not a soup then.

Watch his Theory on Chuck E Cheese
Video went from "Is coffee soup" to "would eat the Bible be sacrilege?" In a record amount of time
I kinda expected coffee to end up being a tea, completely offending Patterz in the process.

Your definition of soup supports that cereal is in fact a soup
@postonian425

it is
"I don't think there is a certain way to make a sandwich, 'cause there are so many kinds of bread to put stuff in!" - You just described a certain way of making a sandwich. "It's context-dependent! It's what you FEEL! That's all language is!" Well, no, and it's dim of you to even say that. Language is specific. That's what makes it functional. We call Subway sandwiches because the primary thing they make _matches the definition_ of a sandwich. Pizza, on the other hand, does not match this definition. It doesn't matter at all if you _feel_ like a tree is a sandwich, if it is definitively not a sandwich.
Coffee is a soup, herbal teas are broth, cereal teas like barley tea are porridges.
Just admit you got it wrong Patterz; there's no shame in that.
8:10 Mat Pat said the wife is wrong because of the bean part and not the soup part, which means that early on in the video, he already said that it is a soup 😮
he has also recently made a video about how to make the perfect cup of tea.
Haha can I just classify coffee under the classification of “the elixir of life!?”
I skipped ten seconds and it went from patterrz explaining his opinions on the definition of a sandwhich and then he was talking about weather or not it was sacrilage to eat the bible
Matpat ruining something? Wow, how unexpected.
Beans are seeds, so if beans count as vegetables, coffee does too. Therefore, it’s a broth.
I didn't expect to hear patterrz's based perspective on language in this video but I'm glad I did
3:36 well, I mean, there was a whole 2 videos on how you can eat trees, so if the ink is non toxic, then you could technically eat it, and it’s only sacrilege if you’re Christian, so almost anyone could technically eat the Bible. “Excuse me, while I split the sea.” “What, are you Moses or something?” “No, literally. I’m going to split the word sea as im biting the page.”
By this logic, tea is also a soup.
Can't wait for you to react to the tea Food Theory video too~~~
"I would say a soup is..." **proceeds to describe literally any type of balanced meal**
Coffee is a tisane. Same as tea, chamomile and all that other 'soak plant in hot water for a while then drink it' stuff. It's exactly and entirely that simple but people can't be bothered to know words.

2:30 I imagine if you were to eat a Gardevior it would most likely taste like Celery. Mostly water…
Tea is hot leaf soup.
I’ve always called coffee bean water. And nothing will change that
coffee is broth. if you make coffee by just cooking water with beans in it, thats a soup, then you strain out the broth.
I forgot about this episode of Food theory
I recently had an argument with someone that said that Lasagne wasn't pasta...
Pat is a genius
A prisoner on death row did eat a Bible as their last meal
Great video
We use Latin for scientific names because the language is dead and doesn't change anymore. The word 'bean' might eventually mean something else, but that just means you'll use a new word for what 'bean' currently refers to.
That was definitely not the Pokémon to use as an example to eat.
See I would argue the opposite here. I'd say tea and coffee are broths, with a slightly expanded definition in coffee's case, because a soup requires the finished product to contain some sort of solid mass (even if pureed).
@slverskull
Жыл бұрын
Soup doesn't require solid mass in the final product, tomato soup at least what I've had is smooth with no mass
Since broth is add the ingredients then take them off i feel like tea is leaf broth
If coffee is a soup then why does coffee suck?
Gardevoir would taste like green onion
lol I live in Colorado and I had no idea lol
It's an infusion... like tea.
So is instant coffee a puree then?
How did you just say Banana Bread like that?
I'm sorry, a chicken wing? It's a wing though. Who the juice is coming up with this?

If you think your tea and coffee is ruined hohoho. You have no idea. Do you know your bread is also extremely unhealthy. ESPECIALLY in the us who still use chemicals in their bread which has been banned by Europe .

99% of what Matpat says is either just plain wrong or deliberate misinterpretation of data. The man made a video about how pasta can be made less dangerous for diabetics and trying his method actually DOUBLED the amount of sugar in my blood than just cooking it in a pot! Frankly his food channel is dangerous.
@Gelert_AT
Жыл бұрын
Can you, like, explain why that happened? Not doubting you or anything, but if I remember correctly the only thing he said in his video was to re-heat pasta, and I can't really see why that would have such negative effects in terms of sugar-levels
@Tolly7249
Жыл бұрын
@@Gelert_AT I did exactly what he said to do in the video, which supposedly makes the sugars in the pasta more difficult to absorb. As far as I can figure out the re-heating actually made the sugars EASIER to absorb because I had a much higher reading afterwards than I do after just having pasta cooked normally.
@Gelert_AT
Жыл бұрын
@@Tolly7249 Well...I'm honestly skeptical about your experience, mainly because it's based on empirical data that only you know and the fact that it's the first time I hear about that particular issue. There's other food theory of his that got attention for 'being wrong' for example, the one where he talked about milk, and that time he got a lot of negative responses to which he had to respond. But for this one...this is the first time I read a complain about it. Have you tried replicating the experiment a.k.a. eating re-heated pasta multiple times after that? Not a full plate, but just a little bit? You know, to see if the pasta was the thing that caused the issue or if it was another completely different thing that just happened to coincide. Again, I don't want to doubt you, but to claim his channel is dangerous in the way you're describing is a serious accusation. But if that were to be true and his video is truly misinformative he should be called out for it, like people already did with his milk video (or, at least, tried to. It was a bit weird in terms on who was right and who was wrong at the end but at least he was called out on it).
@Tolly7249
Жыл бұрын
@@Gelert_AT It's also been proven that microwave meal pasta results in higher blood sugar in diabetics and that's literally the same as re-heating pasta in the microwave because the companies aren't allowed to sell microwave meals that haven't been pre-cooked. It's a well-known problem for us, especially those of us who can't always afford fresh meals because of the current cost-of-living crisis here in Australia. Frankly your skepticism is a little insulting since you assume that because I happened to talk about my own experience that I don't know the science and data behind it.
patters how dare you misgender me
I have never seen one of your videos, and i don't know who you are, but by the first 1 minute of the video, you don't understand what a soup is, so that makes you not worth watching because your opinion does not matter anymore. Just a little bit of feedback . :)
