Dr. Mark Hyman on functional medicine
In this A-Fest talk, Dr. Mark Hyman reveals that food is the most powerful drug, and how to properly use it to biohack your health and restore complete balance in your body.
In our modern world, most people suffer from FLC syndrome - Feel Like Crap syndrome. For our human biology, this FLC syndrome is incredibly abnormal. So, why then, do most of us suffer from it?
We suffer because we focus on the symptoms, not the system. We focus on the organ, not the organism… Catch our drift?
Introducing… Functional Medicine.
Rather than looking at the just the symptoms, Functional Medicine looks at the cause - it looks at the system as a whole; from a holistic, functional perspective. It approaches the root causes of illness and completely biohacks our bodies to achieve peak, optimal health.
After applying Functional Medicine for just 10 days, FLC symptoms in patients decreased by 62%.
No pills, just food.
In this video, Dr. Mark Hyman dives into Functional Medicine, gene expression, how greatly not just food, but our social spheres, affect our overall health and biology, and much more.

I feel you but Social media itself isn’t bad there’s nothing inherently wrong with it what’s wrong is that capitalist design their platforms in extremely addictive memetic styles and market them to people who are to young to understand or even be aware of what’s happening to their psychology. The sad fact is the internet and social media is an incredible tool for building community’s and information that is being taken by capitalist.

As I am about to start my walk by the beach to think about what I am going to say to a group of people in two weeks, I came upon this video and I have watched many interviews Dr. Hyman has done with other doctors, etc. But this one by far has hit home, and has clarified the reason I o penned my food business and that is to help people eat food to keep their body running on healthy fuel. Thank you so much for this informative video, and thank you for challenging my Christian brothers and sisters who eat food that GOD did not make😇😇😇 My father used to say, "the worst thing Medicine has done to people is to divide the human body into organs, and parts and no be able to treat the organism as a whole. And the second worst thing is the create the different specialties such as cardiologist, orthopedics, etc." He had so much wisdom!

mrscott01 You said keto is a joke then you go on and say keto is for healing diseases? Is a diet that improves health a joke? You are correct that you shouldn’t stay on keto long term though. It’s best to cycle in and out of ketosis. Carb cycling. Staying low carb though just not really low carb. So while in hard keto, you are eating under 20 grams of carbs a day. When you cycle out you go to 100 to 150 grams of carbs. You can do each phase for a few days. There are no rules as to how long. Just experiment and find what’s right for you. The goal is to get the benefits as this calorie restriction mimics fasting.

Food really IS medicine-- healthy foods have medicinal properties! 🎉 So important to aim for (and it's okay to not ALWAYS) organic, GMO-free and clean foods. when you eat conventionally grown foods, you’re also ingesting toxins (including pesticides) added to them in the production process, or from environmental pollution. Many of these toxins cause an invader-fighting response from your white blood cells, which contributes to inflammation! Also, given that your gut microbiome impacts everything from your immune system to your skin to your brain function to your digestion, and even your mood and mental health, it’s so important to eat foods that are beneficial for it. 🙏

I believe and have heard this info before but as he talks about taking out fillings , seeing functional doctors, most people don’t have the money to do these things. I would have seen dr Hyman years ago if I had the money. All the data he needs to diagnose costs a small fortune. One can only go so far with food and exercise. Can’t always choose where u live. If you’re sick u can’t work. I do appreciate this info very much.

"One can only go so far with food and exercise" Ummmm no. 99% of health problems can be eliminated by eating the right food, exercising and keeping down stress levels.
