A lot of Dave's lyrics are about facing these kinds of moments. Songs like These Days, Times Like These, Walk, New Way Home, Best Of You... It seems that every song they recorded was destined for this moment. Life can hit you hard but you have to keep going. Without a doubt, Kurt's death greatly influenced Dave's lyrics and the messages he writes in his songs. Foo Fighters is without a doubt a very therapeutic band with very positive messages

Y'know, I never saw a single moment that day where Pat wasn't smiling. You could tell how happy he was to be able to celebrate Taylor with his friends and people who loved him just as much as he did. It was a poignant day, but he was really able to find the joy in celebrating TH the way Taylor would love to see, and I loved that.

My all time favorite FF song. It kept me from cashing it in during a very, very emotional separation from my wife of 20 years (at that time). The lyrics were so damn relevant to me. "Your heart has never been broken, your pride has never been stolen" pretty much summed it up for me at that time. I probably listened to it every day for the long brutal 3 months that we were apart. Thankfully, we reconciled on Thanksgiving Day of that year. We now have a huge poster with the lyrics hanging over our headboard along with one with the lyrics of "Yellow" by Coldplay, which became our song after we got back together. We have been together and deeply in love ever since. This song will forever hold a very special place in my heart . Thanks Dave, your music saved me in the darkest time of my life. I hope that it brings you the same comfort in your time of grief that it brought me. Rest in peace Taylor, you are loved by millions.

For me it was _Home_ after leaving the vicious post-car-accident version of my wife and best friend of 13 years after 6 years of lies and abuse got too much for me. Then she ruined me for leaving her. I have a recording somewhere from one morning at 3 am singing that to myself in my dark apartment, alone for the first time in nearly a decade and a half in a new province with no friends or family. .......The irony is my best friend did die in that accident, in all ways but mortal death, and then killed me for being patient and putting up with the abuse.

I was there on Sat and this song BROKE me. That moment towards the end when Dave let us sing 'But t's alright, but it's alright' a few times & Dave just pauses, takes a minute and then just points at us and screams with his whole fucking heart, "EASY FOR YOU TO SAY!" The pain and anger and GRIEF in his voice and demeanour... I will never forget it as long as I live. I've never been part of a moment at a gig where there was such a BOND between crowd and band, like there was in that moment. We felt EVERYTHING Dave was feeling and the unity in that stadium right there, Jesus. Makes me cry just rewatching it. I feel so blessed to have been a part of it. Those guys rocked the roof off on Saturday. The fact Dave literally was on stage on drums or guitar for almost the entire six hours - if he wasn't already at Rock God status, he would be now.

@@katin6238 hi again 🙂 I think the bit that got me was at the London gig, when they started the Foos set later on, with "Times like these" . Dave was just choked, tears streaming....that must have been one of the hardest things to do, ever. There's a clip on KZread where his voice is shot and Taylor covers by singing the chorus section....I wondered if Dave had remembered that moment. I can't think of a nicer guy in the world right now; every day, part of my routine includes listening to "Best of you" and asking if I give the best of me to everyone I am going to meet that day 🙂

I've had the Foos Best of cd in my car since I got it last Christmas and every single time I listen to Times Like These, I just get a flashback to Dave's tone of voice, the cracks, the long pauses... ugh. Let me tell you, when he stopped for a few minutes, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Every single person in my row had something in our eyes, lol. It was so, so painful. Like, you could seriously feel all of that emotion and pain in two flipping verses... I defy anyone not to well up when Dave stopped and cried. It was so raw and powerful, you just wanted to jump on stage and hug the poor guy. I had to laugh when they did the Los Angeles gig and didn't even touch Times Like These or These Days, lol. I bet they were all like, NOPE, not doing that again, lol. Which was wholly valid tbf. 😂

Watching this live yesterday, I thought to myself "that sure does LOOK like Taylor behind Dave and he sure does SOUND like Taylor" I would not be upset in the least if Rufus took over the drum seat. Rufus looked & sounded SO much like Taylor! I was really confused on the night for a little bit because I couldn't see the drums from where I was sitting, thanks to the giant speaker tower, and I missed them introduce Rufus (the acoustics weren't 100% at the back of the stadium). So, coupled with the fact they were showing so many clips of Taylor playing, for a minute I was like, oh, that's really cool how they're showing a clip of Taylor playing along while the band played live. Then the big screens cut to a shot of Dave looking back at Rufus and talking to him and I was like, hold on, wtf is going on? I'd 100% be good with him replacing Taylor. I don't think it'd be a case of them trying to get him as a clone of T, but in terms of talent and energy, he definitely has it. And I think Taylor would LOVE that, especially with how big a fan he was of Roger. Otherwise I'd love to see Shane join the band at some point, but obviously that'd have to wait a few years. That kid was the living embodiment of his dad last week. I'd be impressed if he could keep that same energy going for a whole gig though, I'd be exhausted after the first song going at the skins that hard, lol. Ah to be a teenager with that level of energy again.
