I’m a 67 yr female. I have fought sugar addiction and eating disorder since 2nd grade. 7 years ago I quit sugar diet 2 years. I lost 20 lbs and stayed at a normal weight for 3 years. Our family went out west on vacation and I ate a special candy that everybody was trying. I didn’t/could’t stop I gained the 20 back quickly. My granddaughter got married October 2023. On Jan 1 2023 I started to starter to diet and exercise to lost 20 by the wedding. I had ridden a bike a thousand miles and walked over 100 and counted calories. On Aug 11 my sister (biking buddy) suggested I watch Kelly hogan. I did that day and started carnivore on August 12. By October 21 I have lost 13 more to make the 20 goal. June 17 2024 I have lost total of 28. Will never touch sugar again. The best part is what the weight loss and freedom from the sugar addiction feels like. The carnivore diet definitely changed my mood. Just a very patient (never patient before) and happy state of mind. I will NEVER stop. I never count calories. I eat until I’m full. I eat quite a bit more than my husband. I love the freedom I feel now. Hang in there. You will be so glad you did.

Becoming pregnant 25 years ago, that was really the first time I noticed I had a problem with binging or addiction. I do have an issue still, but I try to use biblical discussions with myself and it seems to work 99% of the time

Great mindset! I did keto to lose weight and organically moved to carnivore. It wasn't my intention really but was carnivore for three years until I started having stomach issues. After six years, I've found my maintenance and base health commitments to stay where I'm at. I now eat about 100 healthy carbs daily, about 100 protein and fat, 1500 to 1800 calories a day. I lift weights 4x a week, walk 10,000 steps a day, do a lot of stretching. This is where I feel my best at 74yo. I haven't had cravings in years. They do eventually go away after being very low carb. I'm happy for you. I think you have a great plan! And, Jen, it takes however long it takes! Good luck!!

I feel like I’m looking at a younger version of myself. At 68, I continue to struggle with my weight and binge eating. I had not had any sugar products in the last 4 months until I went to Italy 3 weeks ago (I have ulcerative colitis and high blood pressure to add to this uncontrollable weight mixture). My gastroenterologist wanted me to try the bread in Italy (I couldn’t eat it in the US without horrible diarrhea) because Italy doesn’t add additives to their bread. Sure enough, I was able to eat pizza, bread sticks, croissants, pasta. What joy! Now, back in the US and I tried continuing the bread and croissants…what a disaster! Diarrhea all day long. Long story short, I HAVE TO GO BACK TO CARNIVORE to get my gut issues back in control. BTW, my gastrointestinal is just trying to keep my intestines in me (thank you to the wonderful genes in my family). I am 50 pounds overweight and have lost 45 in the last year so your program is right up my alley. I like the idea of people getting together and sharing their experiences; however, I do not do FB, X, etc. only KZread Premium. Looking forward to hearing your progress/stress/challenges/etc. as well as others in this group.

I just love your honesty! I know you can achieve your goals. You inspire me every time I watch your videos. It is refreshing to see someone who is real and has a honest perspective towards a healthy lifestyle. If I watch other influencers, they seem too perfect or not realistic. I love your approach to your channel. You have inspired me to keep going with my weight loss journey when I feel like I hit a brick wall and stall. It is very frustrating. I know you will stay the course and reach your goals. You are beautiful and so brilliant. Thanks again for all that you do. Also, don’t worry too much about that puppy. I have a dog 🐶too and went through the crate training stage. Have plenty of treats and training pads. You can do this too! I promise, you won’t lose your gorgeous hair.❤😊

Great goal reset! The reality we all face is that the seemingly miraculous results we see from most influencers is not always normal and uniform across a population. Most people will struggle to reverse course on habits or damage to health. It does take time, effort and experimentation to diagnose what has gone wrong, what provokes change, then see and then maintain change and results. What works for one, does not always for for another, hence experimentation.

I am so glad you posted an update. I was waiting 😊. You are figuring it out, and I love that. I gained wait in carnivore too. The advice, "eat until you are full/stuffed" does not for me. I am an eater! I had to dial back my fat macro to get some weight loss results. I feel so good eating meat. We just can't go hog wild. I also will overeat if I restrict too much. I get it! Hard to dial in that sweet spot. I think there is some validatity to your high cortisol theory. Hope that is resolved. You are lovely for sharing your journey!

I have healed my psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and other things. Off all meds. Yay! But I want to lose about 40 lbs. I’m still insulin resistant. I’m sugar addicted and I need to limits sweet everything. I have been creeping stevia in my coffee and LMNT. I’m also never full or satiated. lol I have messed with calories and macros and nothing. Yesterday I went to Walmart and purchased about 5 bags of nuts and made my own trail mix that I’m binging on!!!! Ugh. Yep! I’m with you. I’m going to decide to binge. Awww, a new puppy! Get him on a carnivore diet too! That said . . . your plan sounds good, I just had a couple of thoughts. For some people, it seems their body has gone through the feast/famine routine so much, it is determined to hang onto some fat, just in case there's another famine (restricted eating). I picked up on it when you mentioned not being satiated on 1800 calories. While calories might have a place, just as a point of reference, too much emphasis has been placed on calories in/calories out, when we all know that not all calories are created equal. There are women smaller than you who can eat twice as much - and lose weight, on the carnivore diet. Eating what might feel like too much can create a sense of safety for your body . . . so it will burn the fat stores because it feels like you're giving it enough nutrition to meet all needs. The second observation was looking at your food prep; one of the most common things that people have noticed when they have a weight loss stall, or gain weight - is dairy. They have to eliminate yogurt, cheese, cream, etc. in order to maintain momentum on weight loss - or stop weight gain. Last - I keep a container of "purse bacon" and some hard-boiled eggs in the frig; anytime I'm feeling the urge to snack, I grab one - often a single strip of bacon just eliminates that urge altogether.

So obviously, you are not suppressing your insulin production the way you need to, and that happens because you must be every once in a while, sneaking in some carbs, and then that resets your body to the sugar burning mode rather than the fat burning mode, which is the definition of ketosis.

I haven’t seen your previous video about binging, but I do know the frustrations of binging. I am not a binger usually. I am a set my goal and go for it. However, I have stopped and started Carnivore over a dozen times. Always due to binging. I thought something was seriously wrong with me, because I couldn’t stick to the diet regardless how prepared I was. It’s perhaps the simplest and non-starving diet I’ve ever been on, but I cannot go more than two weeks, sometimes one before I’m off the rails. I’ve also said EXACTLY what you’ve stated about understanding that I was making excuses to binge, and set out to “never do it again”, but you will. I’m not being negative, I am simply stating that you are setting yourself up to fail, and it won’t be the just about the diet, but the psychological aspect that you failed-like me. I don’t think it’s just the excuses that trip us up, it’s the craving (and withdrawals like someone on a serious drug addiction) that compels us to go off the rails. We are fighting a monster called sugar. The sugar addiction, is what is tripping our goals. Not everyone has the same addiction, so they are able to follow the diet easily, but serious sugar addicted will struggle. This is where we are. I am here to tell you, it’s not the excuse, it’s learning how to ride the tide of the addiction. I feel your pain, and I hope that we both find our way over this struggle. Go luck with your journey, I feel we can succeed with patience.

I watch people like Kelly Hogan and she’s eating over 200g of protein a day. I can’t get that high to save my life. Also tried the lower protein and higher fat. Idk what to do anymore. If I may suggest.... prepare for the urge to binge. The urge will occur, it just will. What will you do? I'm a binge eater, the last urges that I had I drank a BUNCH of water then I binged on carnivore things. I binged on things I can have, until I literally I could not eat anymore. On carnivore, the urge is way less frequent and definitely not harmful.

I will admit that I haven't watched all your videos, and, to tell the truth, I am too lazy to go back; bad me. Have you ever done a fasting or low carolie day followed by a high-calorie day with the total number of calories for both days meeting the average caloric intake you want? I have heard that if you keep calories constant daily, your body gets used to it and will adjust, making weight loss harder. I would like to hear your opinion on this. Thank you.

As a binge eater/purger myself from around age 5 due to trauma and abuse I always tended to over complicate things, including using the excuse of having to cook for myself and family, some with very challenging dietary needs . I now just cook twice a week, and only eat once, occasionally twice if I’m super hungry, a day. My whole family does the same. We are all pretty much lion diet with some seafood. Food has no power in our home anymore. We look at it like taking vitamins now. Don’t track anything for any of us.

I've followed you for at least a year as I was a carnivore for multiple years and seen lots of success with it but I went to a whole different level when I started eating leaner meats and add it in fruits and vegetables which goes against a lot of the carnivore beliefs I know. I think carnivore can be tough for people who are trying to lose that last 20 lbs or so and especially women. My wife was a former vegetarian who just could not lose the last 20 on carnivore. She did glp agonist something like ozempic and all the weight fell off effortlessly within 6 weeks. I'm not pushing that though do I do highly recommend it if they are doing this for weight loss because I'm not convinced carnivore is the best diet for weight loss but instead for other things. All that said I think the biggest problem with carnivore and losing weight is there's way too much of a push for fatty meats. At the end of the day it comes down to calories and there are nine calories per gram of fat.. I think if you take half of your meals and went to a leaner meat sources like turkey burgers or ground beef 90-10, fish or sirloin steak stuff like that. I am 53 years old and have went from my goal weight of 180 with carnivore and 13% body fat on a DEXA scan to a solid 7 lbs lower now since I added in vegetables and leaner meats and eliminated the bacon and the ribeyes. I also believe and this might be controversial that fatty meets are what's causing cravings as I was obsessed with chocolate bars before on carnivore but now that I've added in vegetables and some fruits and cut out the fatty meats and went with a leaner meat, this has been extremely easy for me. How sweet things like fat free greek yogurt basically things with no fat in them and allow carbs. This variety seems to get rid of all my other cravings for stuff if that makes sense. I could never get rid of the cravings and I was miserable especially from a social perspective while on carnivore. Once again I'm not against carnivore nor am I telling you what you're doing is wrong I'm just trying to help you out as I see you going through the exact same thing me and my wife went through for years just not being able to put the! On carnivore. I've spent a ton of time thinking about this and I really believe the problem with carnivore is sustainability because of the fatty meats are causing such cravings and they're hard to lose weight that way. It's almost like the meat is too good. Trade the fatty meats for zero fat things like fruits vegetables and fat free greek yogurt stuff that has zero fat grams in it. If you do eat meat what you're going to do obviously then use leaner cuts chicken breast as well obviously. I hope all this makes sense I'm rooting for you and I don't think you'd realize how much easier this is while getting to your goal. Good luck

I was having difficulty with my last 10-15 stubborn pounds as well. After watching Dr. Boz I realized I was more than likely still insulin resistent. I've incorporated a water fast each week since April.. I do either a 36, 48 or 72 hour fast. It ensures that I'm getting into deep ketosis and burning fat each week. I havent changed much for the rest of my diet and exercise routine, but just this has taken off 9lbs. Slow and steady. Getting ready to do bloodwork-- im sure my fasting insulin has dropped because my fasting has become so much easier. Not lying-- it was hard the first month.
