I bought a simplified version of a table like this maybe 40 years ago. Expanded it can sit 8, folded down it only takes up 2 feet. I love your attention to detail. Can't imagine what this table might cost.

Awesome hinges! A stainless steel hinge rod might be a valuable investment if moisture and rust could be an issue. I love to see unique design and you can be proud of this "one of a kind" heirloom.

Second thought: I hope the wood finish will adequately prevent the wood hinges from shrinking over time causing them to crack from the tight rod inserted through them.
