Both talented players but Foden has more experience in crucial games & moments for a while now not even adding trophies in. Maybe Saka can get a trophy at Arsenal but he’s not there yet. Winning games with no trophies doesnt make you world class, IMO.

Saka literally gets in every team at RW bar Liverpool over Salah. Foden doesn't even have a locked down position and any position you tie him to (LW, RW, CAM etc), there are many players better in all those positions. He's not a natural winger so he cannot be discussed with Saka, Salah, Rodrygo, Sane etc in the winger positions. He's nowhere near KDB, Odegaard. Bruno, Maddison etc as a 10 because he has not had a season anywhere near those guys creativity wise. He is nowhere near the best number 8 in the world, so how does he get in any team? He doesn't even start internationally on a regular basis and can't lock down a position there either he plays in different positions every time.

This debate/trial should have started based on what Rio actually said on TV not what was written. Joel's argument should been Rio implying that Foden is nearer to being World Class than Saka is (This would have saved time) Rio moved the goalpost, he first Foden is a head of Saka because of the impact Foden has made in the Champions League over the 6 years. Rio also said Foden has had more team achievements e,g, winning Premier League titles and the Championship League. These are valuable arguments, as this Saka has yet to win the Premier League with Arsenal and has only been in the Championship League this season. HOWEVER the Question is how much impact has Foden made with this Man City Team. Over the 6 years, I would consider Foden as a bit part player in the first 4 years and played a little more last season. Overall Foden has only been starting more games in the last 2 seasons...This season may be his most consistent season in terms of Starts and performances. In the last 6 seasons, there have been players like Aguero, Sterling, De Bruyne, gundogan, Bernardo, Rodri, and Haaland, the list goes on with players who have had more consistency at high level for Man City. While Saka has been a major part of any achievement Arsenal has had in the last 2 seasons. If we are being really honest, let's judge Foden based on his contribution in the last 2 seasons. If we were to judge it like this Question 1 Who has been the better player in the Premier League over the last 2 years Saka or Foden? Saka Question 2 Who has been the better player in the Champions League over the last 2 seasons Foden or Saka? Foden Question 3 Who has been the better International player over the last 2 years Saka or Foden? Saka I take Rio argument that a World Class Player could be someone who does something extra that stands shoulders above everyone else...e.g, Halaand breaking Premier League scoring records, and scoring regularly in the Champions League or Jude Bellingham at the age of 20 playing for the biggest club in the world, competing with World class players for a starting spot in the midfield. Then being able to deliver top-quality performances and top goal scorer from midfield In my opinion, at this moment Saka is closer to being world-class than Foden, but at the end of the season, it could be different. Both have the potential to be world-class, but I think we need more Seasons to judge

You mentioned that for 4 years foden has been a bit part player for city and then went on to mention a list of world class players or extremely amazing players that he’s been up against at city. But doesn’t that strengthens the foden argument that he’s somehow been able to be mentioned as a potential world class player while trying to break through with that extreme pool of talent at city… who’s saka had to fight for his position at arsenal? I have no dog in this fight as a Newcastle fan but if you ask me which player if i could only take 1 of either Saka or Foden, it's Saka every day of week. He is so direct when he takes on his marker, shoots so well with both feet, impacts the game more with his movement, just a complete nuisance to deal with and not to mention great physical strength for someone so small. Foden is an elite dribbler but for me only plays well once every 6 or 7 games, Saka is literally Man of the Match almost every time he takes the field. Consistency really matters in football and Saka is more consistent at the end of the day.

But somehow Bellingham is a generational talent but Foden is not. Hmmm. Foden has scored the winner in both legs of the UCL Quarters in 20/21. He also assisted the winner in the UCL Quarters 21/22. He has also scored or assisted against Real Madrid in the UCL Semis two seasons in a row. In terms of individual accomplishments/contributions Bellingham has a hell of a lot of catching up to do and in terms of ability there are several things at which Foden outshines Bellingham.
