Brilliant interview. I've never really seen the real Ledley until this. Incredible how Ledley dealt with the injury. I think I might have felt sorry for myself and got depressed. Especially given how ambitious he was to be the world's best defender only to be robbed of fulfilling that when so young (though he was still world class, amazingly). Very impressive character. As a Spurs fan I marvelled at how he developed his defensive IQ to masterful levels to compensate. And at his supremely well-balanced two-footed ability. And how the hell was he still so fast? Ridiculous! An all-time great.

The King of White Hart Lane. It´s mind boggling to think what his status in the game (world wide) would have been if he hadn´t had his knee problems and injuries. But easily one of the top 3 centra backs of Spurs together with Mike England - bad knee included.

Big respect for Ledley for not taking Rio's race-baiting question when talking about Sol Campbell being another 'black centre-back'. Ledley could touch on the same sort of feelings but talked about the area and social class he came from and not skin colour. There would have been black, white and several shades inbetween young men from Ledley's area that struggled, it wasn't a race thing at all.

@@andrewwright4195 you're talking about one match lol. Idc if Modric or Pirlo couldn't play RB, they were better midfielders than him. Being the best midfielder is all about control. Gerrard used to get controlled by the best players all the time. The times when he was really good at Liverpool was because he had Xabi Alonso controlling the game for him,
