I'm trying to understand the results of pushing vanishing points to different extremes in drawing and I found this somewhat helpful. Understanding compression as a result of how close vanishing points are to one another will help me when setting up vanishing points to start and plan a piece.

Or you speedlight with your camera, the response I have seen is amazing if you know how to go bounce flashlight the output will be like you have not used Flashlight at all.

You might want to mention, as well, what compression can do to human facial features; so the need for checking on that re distance from your subject when using various focal length lenses for portraits so you don't distort people's faces (however subtle, or not, that distortion can be).
