I had these for a week before sending them back. I had no problems with the sound. The fact that you can't turn anc off, you can't use them wired with no battery and more importantly the clamp force was too strong for me were the problems. I could wear them about 30 minutes before it got uncomfortable. I didn't and don't think I have a wide head! 😀

You words sum up my video entirely. They are a 10/10 sonically, but the issues above make them slightly hard to recommend

Great review, i use this specifically for fortnite / destiny 2 and heavy bass music. 10/10 recommend to everyone. Definitely premium build and sound quality 👌

Really happy to hear you're having fun!
The app only works for Bluetooth so you will have to adjust the eq and personalization in Bluetooth and then switch to dac mode after. If you are having trouble getting into the app in Bluetooth then you may have a dud.

That is good to know! Likely my unit is not orking very properly, I can't get the app to do anything, almost as if it does not recognize the headphones.
Samsung S23 will use AptX if available. You can check/force this by going into the developer options, then scroll down to Bluetooth Audio Codec and checking that when connected it is using AptX. In the same options you can set AptX as the default to use if available. The LDAC setting is done differently, but Focal have not licensed LDAC for the Bathys. My head is also big and the Bathys are just a bit too small for me, and not very comfortable. When I get round to my next pair I will not buy Bathys again, but overall they are a decent balance between good sound quality with decent noise cancellation and can operate nicely in Bluetooth and wired mode.

I have to check that on the S23U. I have the Europe - Romania version and for me the aptX is greyed out right now...
Nice review. But you must download the new update! 😂 no problem with the dac on. No, sis... sound. Great 🎧 . The sound is awesome. With the dac on and cable plugs. The music is fantastic.

I tried to update, failed the process, but will try again. At this point I should likely send those to warranty :)
Ended up going momentum 4 and maxwell. I’d rather have 2 different tunings.
