Hi bro, i need your opinion on a topic! What would you recommend if i were to buy a new iem then what termination should i choose like 3.5mm or 4.4 mm balanced plug if I'm new into this hobby ? What would you personally choose ? Should decisions be different in low, mid or hifi iems ? Is there any other benefits apart from loudness and details if we buy 4.4mm over 3.5mm ?
4.4mm always sopunds better nowdays, becuase companies implement it better, so always go with 4.4mm if you have a source capable of the output.
@@AudiophileHeaven alright, thank you sir! 😊
I got the deva pro wired this week, £100 ish on Amazon. I have a fiio K11 dac, don't need BT, especially on an open backed set, I have my edifier w830nb for that.
Neat, hope they will be a lot of fun!
Just received the headphone today and is super excited! Btw I have to say you really look like the killer Anton Chigurh from no country for old men, great to see Anton doing headphone reviews
Thank you! I hope you will have a lot of fun with the headphones!
This channel deserves 1 million views per video. These are the best audio reviews I've come across on KZread. So much detail. Everything is covered. The sound is always described so well for every product. Absolutely excellent audio review channel!
Thank you so much!!!
Which is the best eartip between spinfit w1, azla xelastec and crystal?? ; I want to make my final e4000 fit more securely ; it is a little wobbly with stock tips.
Honestly, I nowadays use mostly the default tips. If they don't fit well, usually, your ears are either fatigued or you have some inflamation. The sticky style like azla xelastec and crystal are better for better seal, but i also use ddHIFI ST-35 a lot.
Hey Man Thanks for the reveiw and advice. Well , doest this support Shazam app ? Have mic support to find music ?
I think it does not have mic or shazam support. You can install it, but i don't think it has a mic
Hi, I love your channel. One of your recent videos got me thinking, am I over powering my headphones? I've got a Burson Soloist 3XP running my Ananda Stealth. It's 4W into 32Ohms unbalanced / 8W into 32Ohms balanced. It's also like 40V or some crazy thing like that. Am I going to cook my Ananda or my other planars? I've been running like this for about 2 weeks now.
If the volume is low and ou don't hear a high distortion, it is not overpowered. Too much feels like either a lot of distortion, or like too much volume. This is because most sources can control how much of that power they push into the IEMs / Headphones they are driving.
@@AudiophileHeaven Thank you so much for answering my question 😁
Hi, what would you recommend between Hiby R4 and iBasso DX 180 ? Is there any USB Delay in DX 180 or R4 ? Is there any hissing sound on DX 180 ? Is DX 180 back cover removable for battery replacement ?
No delay i either, DX180 has loewr noise floor. DX180 has replaceable battery. Overall I recommend DX180 more, better sound, but it is twice the price if I'm not mistaken
@@AudiophileHeaven Thank you for your response, really appreciate it! Yes you're correct its double the price of R4 in my country. DX 180 weight is lower than R4 and my requirement is to have an android based DAP with all necessary features and as light as possible. Also if I'm correct the DX 180 screen resolution is Full HD panel which could be plus point depending on situations. It runs on android 13 as per specs sheet and 4 GB RAM with 128 GB internal storage with same SD 665 processor seems a better package to me which should be more fluid, smooth and lag free than 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage on R4. And as you said it's overall a better DAP even if we consider it in technical aspects that's why I'm thinking of holding my purchase and getting DX 180.
@@HPY07 DX180 is indeed the superior DAP overall, but R4 is not disappointing at all. Just DX180 is what I think in a different class, R4 is entry-level for DAPs, while DX180 is already midrange, better sound
@@AudiophileHeaven oh i see, btw which one is the more trusted and superior brand in your opinion and has less quality control issues ?
@@HPY07 Both are very good. iBasso has been making more high-end DAPs, while Hiby made software for many entry-level DAPs. Overall, this indicates iBasso has much better experience for delivering high-end products and flagships, while Hiby makes good entry-level stuff, but that's about it, their high-end DAPs never made it to me, so they are not as appealing.
I need to upgrade my schiit entry lvl stack. Would I feel any perceivable difference?. I just loathe the noise knob on the magni now.
Yep, you should feel a huge improvement and like the sound / ergonomics of Element III Mk2 boosted far more
Fiio k9 akm or atom 2 stack?
Hm... Good question. For the most part, atom2 stack is cheaper, and a bit more ergonomic. It has slihgtly less function, but sonically it is a bit better, so I would get the stack and enjoy it, lower background noise.
@AudiophileHeaven Very intestesting you find the stack sonically better. That's the most important thing for me
My Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD is struggling for a while, trying to find a new DAC amp that suits 'audiophiles' as well as a gamer that has a MIC input plus a budget price tag isn't bloomin' easy! This might just be the answer when its available and I've got some pennies!
Ahh it is available in the UK just not on Amz yet it seems.
Hope you will have lots of fun if you go for it!
ok, so they took the effort to offer a balanced headphone output option, yet couldn't be bothered with a stereo set of mic XLR plug with phantom power or more than 2 RCA plugs on the back for outputs, hmmm. I've seen motherboards that cost less that have more audio IO options than that box has on the back.
Their own AE-9 has more inputs and outputs. I think there is a limit to hat you can have on a mnotherboard tho, never seen one that was decent, but i know some good interfaces for entry-level pricing
@@AudiophileHeaven yeah, I was just thinking of all the motherboards that have a quarter-inch plug for the 2 front outs, another for the rear outs, and a third for sub and center channels, and compared to that only having a single stereo out is a bit meh for a 300 quid box. I guess they may be bandwidth limited if that is dropping to 1MBps USB 1.0 for the one mode, so it's kind of understandable I guess. I guess the only selling point is the balanced headphone plugs on the front, and beyond that, it's just the wrong wrench to pound in a screw for other users, lol.
♥
Thank you!!
This is trash. The audio signal degrades over time and causes static noises.
Contact the shop, I heard from a few fans that there was a first batch of bad products wehre this happens. They will replace it based on serial number, this sounds exactly like the issue people were having with that batch.
I like watching media on my Samsung 24 ultra with a pair of Focal headphones and have tried lots of dac dongles but at last I found a Sound Blasters dongle that sounds great. The music setting sounds strange but the Dolby surround setting sounds great, im a very happy camper.
Yooo, super nice, happy to hear you're in a good place there!!
i wish they added a camera to this DAP and maybe the ability to make phone calls and browse the internet then i think it'll be perfect
You can get a smartphone. Moondrop has one, the MIAD-01 I think, should come soon to europe
You don't have an inline microphone on any of your headphones/earphones that sport a 3.5mm plug?
No sir, I use an XLR Rode NTG-3B Microphone to record audio, which needs XLR Phantom power.
Purchased the AR5000's, now these are my favorite headphones!
Super nice, happy to have been of help!
7hz aurora or Ms5?
MS5 has better user feedback. Aurora sounds more detailed and more technically capable, but as MS5 was better received, go for it if unsure, you may end up happier.
Lupu, great review of this unit. We were talking about Fiik K9 AKM and SMSL DO400 for more of a reference-tuned dac/amp, and you suggested that I if I could steretch my budget, Aune S9C Pro is a better unit. And, I've taken your recommendation of S9C Pro very seriously. However, this review and your talk about single-ended headphones and unbalanced outputs made me question something: my headphones are all single-ended. So, since I can't use balanced output on the three mentioned units, how is power and sound quality on the their unbalanced outputs? Due to the fact that I can only use unbalanced headphone-out on the S9C Pro, K9 AKM, and SMSL DO400, with which of these do you think I should go now? Which one has the better power and sound quality on the unbalanced output? PS there are two features that I like about K9 AKM that the others don't have: 1. It supports USB Audio Class 1 for gaming consoles. 2. Besides USB-B, It has a dedicated USB-C input for connecting your phone which, incidentally, I intend to mainly use my dac/amp that way for listening to music, too. All these aside, thanks to your recommendation, I've taken a great liking to S9C Pro, too. Haha!
S9C PRO would be the best of the list, I would go for it overall. X5 is much cheaper, which is a plus, and it can serve well. K9 has a ton of features, but sonically is much flatter. DO400 is a nice middle ground that I seldom recommend nowadays, it is great overall, doesn't do anything in particular as a highlight.
@@AudiophileHeaven Thanks for giving a sonic order to my list. By K9 AKM being "sonically much flatter," do you mean it's more neutral? For me, frankly, it has come down between K9 AKM (because of its mentioned features) and S9S Pro (because of its reference sound). But, I don't know how much K9 AKM's sound quality and power output differs from those of S9C Pro on their unbalanced headphone-outs to justify one over the other.
@@MoonshineBeforeSunshine S9c PRO is justified I think. K9 PRO has a flatter sund in general, including soundstage and dynamics, everything si really flat
@@AudiophileHeaven I don't have access to any of these units for a sound trial before purchase, and you've been phenomenal in helping me to make the right decision before spending a considerable amount of money. Thanks, Lupu for your existence in the audio world. You're more than a good reviewer in this world of audio, you're a good audio friend.
Could you compare Hiby R4 with Tempotec Variations V6 in terms of musicality and sound signature?
Shoirtly, R4 has better functionality, and for sound, R4 sounds more overdriven, but also more controlled, lower distortion, better detail, cleaner sound, better dynamics and soundstage.
How versatile are these headphones? I want to use them both wired at home (games, music on PC, video, etc.), and use them wirelessly with a phone outside the home
My pair sounded much better for wireless, than wired. So I am not sure what to say, I would get two different headphones if possible
What would you choose betwen this one and the new Hiby R4? I am not a rich person and i wish to not regret buying the wrong one. I am undecided between these 2...R3 II and R4....my heart goes to R4, but...i wish your opinion... i am not an expert on these things, and this will be my first ever Dap, in my life, now at 54 years old....so i wish to not regret the choice later..
R4 all the way, that you will not regret
@@AudiophileHeaven Thanks, i apreciate, you are great, my friend. By the way, nice reviews, you convinced me to subscribe to your channel, i have so much to learn from you.
@@MARYOLIONHEART I hope you will have lots of fun!
What you would choose between R3 and r4?
R4 is much better
@@AudiophileHeaven Thank you very much, you are awesome, i apreciate your help. By the way, i am not so rich to buy those earphones from them so expensive, so if i choose those cheaper XOE earphones, would work with this R4? And another thing, when i want to put in cart those earphones, asking me what to choose, 3.5mm or Type C...this means i can plug and listen in type C port also? So, tye C is better or 3.5mm ? Excuse my questions, i am 54 years old, and is my first ever DAP i buy...so i want to order the right things to not regret money spent, i hope you understand me, i am an old frefighter here in Bucharest, Romania, and i will do a big sacrifice to get this player and these earphones. Thank you for understandig and for advices.
@@AudiophileHeaven And another thing, these AUDIO SETS: XOE + W3II and XOE + FC3, wort to get for this R4? Or should not buy? I dont know anything about these, or buy only R4 and XOE earphones? As i am not a expert, i want this R4 only tom listen music, not streaming or something else...so these sets would improve anything for me or not?
@@MARYOLIONHEART R4 will sound better for sure than other DAPs. For IEMs, I would start with a solid 100-200 USD IEM if at the beginning, something like www.audiophile-heaven.com/2024/06/ziigaat-cincotres-linsoul-iems-studio-tuning-high-resolution-engaging-sound.html www.audiophile-heaven.com/2024/04/ibasso-3t-154-dynamic-driver-iems-large-driver-deep-bass.html www.audiophile-heaven.com/2024/03/hidizs-ms3-hybrid-iems-the-traditional-chifi-experience.html
@@MARYOLIONHEART You can start with some good entry-level IEMs, I would buy something else if low on budget, like this www.audiophile-heaven.com/2024/04/simgot-em6l-hybrid-iems-budget-prodigy-sound.html
What is the best sound quality digital audio player you ever use ?
iBasso DX320 MAX Ti has so far been the best I heard
Oh they released new grand v2. Now i am thinking to get one after good experience with ultimate
Working on reivewing that one soon as well : )
$1699 USD in the last sale, which is insane
Grab one while you still can XD At that price I can't recommend something better , that is Arya Organic price
Thanks for the review, I ended up buying these for 47 dollars. These are my first IEMs and I gotta say these are better than anything I've ever used by far. My use case is animusic, pop, metal, and gaming, they're better than I expected, I can wear them for hours without fatigue too. I can see myself getting hooked into IEMs now lol, I can't go back to using those cheaper headphones or earphones
Yooo, super nice! Hope you will find content on my channel to guide you through this pricey but really fun hobby!
thanks

This player have ''shuffle'' option for folders, songs, etc?
Yes, shuffle yes. Folder shuffle, yes, if you go brwose by folder. Also all song shuffle, if you index them and go to all songs then shufffle
@@AudiophileHeaven Thank you very much
Salut!
In rest, as zice ca este my all time favorite pairing
I have Oh10. Its better Ms5, Cannon 2 or Oh10s?
OH10s better but with the same signature,. MS5 sounds thicker and bassiuer, while Canon 2 sounds much bassier
So it works with dongle dac? For sure?
Mine’s battery is a little on the weak side: 4-5 hours on balanced mode…
That is bad, but good to know! Do you listen loud?
@@AudiophileHeaven High Gain and volume at about 30-40 (never full send). I tried to lower the gain (my Denons AHD7200 don't need that much juice anyway), will update on results.
Hi George! I took out the mmcx cables of my final e5000 using mmcx assist tool to solder a 4.4 mm plug to it , but now it's not going in , no matter how much force I apply to it.I am afraid that it will break before going in. What to do?? Will excessive force also degrade the iem's sound quality??
The MMCX connectors either work or they don't, if you force too much, it may break them, or they may become loose, but if they will work, it will be okay. They are super tight, but you have to push absolutely straight, if there is an angle , it can break the connector
how are this compare to simgot 200 wp? in terms of value for money. thanks for amazing review
Happy you are enjoying the content! I am not sure if I heard the Simgot to give a reliable verdict
Love you miss you haven’t saw your reviews in a while. They are really great. You are great as well.❤
Thank you so much!
Hi .. do you think this unit can give the maximum performance of beyerdynamic dt1990 pro 250 ?
Hii, yes, absolutely!
I'm still deciding to choose this or the Xduoo ta-22, Idk wich is better 🫠
I would go with DO400, it is a generally better deal
Thank you for the review! I have 2 questions, though: 1. How does booting in Linux change the experience? I don‘t need Streaming, Bluetooth, Wifi, etc. I just want a DAP to play my HD tracks from microSD. 2. How is the screen in a dark environment? I want to play music to fall asleep without waking up my wife with a bright screen. Will it still preserve contrast like an iPhone?
The contrast at minimum brightness is still ok. Some smartphones are not, like Asus ROG Phones, and even samsung sometimes, but DX260 looks great even at minimum brightness. The iBasso special Mango Mode would theoretically improve the sound slightly, I can't say that i hear a big difference, but it takes away the distractions typically found in Android mode.
@@AudiophileHeaven Thanks! I will pick one up next month as I’ll travel to China anyway. The purchase decision made is thanks to you - and your review alone.
@@odkKoma Thank you and I hope you will have a lot of fun with it!
1:09 Most studio music rolls off below 40 Hz, so it might not be true that most of the "impact and substance resides." Depends on some specific music types, I suppose.
Well, I enjoy a lot of EDM, wehre bass was not necessarily recorded, but created synthetically. With most speakers, a 40Hz extension is perfect though, a lower extension is shared witht he neighbors a lot
2024 July 19th. I bought a pair and and are waiting for them as I write. I bought them for about 700$€ used, but they have only been used for 20 hours according to the previous user. I have right now the Fiio FX15 and Astell Kern Zero1 and Sennheiser ie600, I don't know if these 4 year old Iems will stack up against newer models from 2023, but they might, my hopes is that they perform better than all my previous Iems since the used market price is pretty high with 700$€ to 900$€ used. I they will arrive next week.
I hope they will sound great for you!!
@@AudiophileHeaven Got the Meze Rai Penta yesterday, I change cable and tips right away, from a 3.5mm to a 4.4mm and are using FLAC and WAV formats on my Sony WM1AM2. Also I have used EQ and sound filters like vinyl processor etc. They sound amazing, really amazing. If I give the Sennheiser IE600 5/10 in the bracket of high end good IEMs I will give the penta 8/10 And p.s I had to change the original cable "Silver" for another pair, the silver one makes the sound, sound dry and Abit plain. Also in EU the Meze Rai Penta is still going for original price, those who are left after they stopped making them, I got my for 7470kr including shipping and buyers insurance, since I bought them used, 7470 is roughly about 670$, but everywhere else in EU they are about 800$ used, like ebay and such. Anyway really happy with the good price and sound, not sure they are worth the 1100$ pricetag in 2024 when you have ThieAudio Monarch MK III for a 100$ less, but the monarch are plastic and not as refined as the penta
I wonder how could be the matching with my S9c and HE1000se. Will the S17 be worth the investment of 700 in that system?
I thiuk yes, if you want a smoother, warmer sound. I personally can use he1000se with s9c pro only and be happy, but S17 PRO makes the sound fuller, heavier and more punchy, if that's what you'rew looking for
Cool video as usual, looking forward to listening to the full Campfire rang at Canjam London plus all the other fantastic gear on show. You should try and make it one year. Have a great weekend when it comes. Anthony
Hope you will enjoy them all!!
Great campfire iem. But expensive. I bought a campfire cascara. It's the blue one. awesome sound too.
Wohoo, happy to hear you're having fun! I have a video in the works exploring the Cascara as well!
Is this a good alternative to ibasso dx170?
Yes, it is an interesting alternative, lower perfromance but similar design / android abilities
@@AudiophileHeaven Performance is not good as 170? This is class A right?
@@vaisakhmurali6918 Class A is great, and it is a great DAP, DX170 can sound a bit more detailed at times, depends on what you prefer. R4 has a generally pleasing sound, DX170 is a bit of an upgrade sonically, for almost double the price.

Hi! Main difference with Hype 4 and Ms3? Thanks!
Hype 4 is really mid centric, a bit unnatural and very detailed, Ms3 is warmer, brighhter treble, recessed midrnage, more traditional sound
@@AudiophileHeaven overall BEST of three in tonality and technicalities?
@@LandsPlanes Technically, Hype 4 is the most detailed, but a lot of people return it often because they can't get along with the tuning. From this perspective, MS5 has the highest price / performance / customer satisfaction ratio
@@AudiophileHeaven Thank you very much for the reply. I was able to try the hype 4 and I noticed it was more or less natural but somewhat lacking in expansion in the soundstage and a somewhat "boring" sound at times.
