Does this mark the return of the ‘sailing gourmet’? Excellent looking bread Dylan. Slice in half, add a fried egg and tomato sauce to make the mother of all egg banjos ! The return of the diesel bug is a bit pants though.

I would like to see how that nice tasty looking bread was made by you?

I had the same issue last year and did exactly the same as you, kept draining the water trap and more regular filters changes, but be aware I did notice in rough weather the tank gets stirred up and it can get much m worse. So much so I decided to change the primary fuel filter while sailing across Lyme Bay as the wind was forecast to drop and I knew I’d have to motor and didn’t want to end up with no engine and no wind and having to get a tow! Keep em coming, have fun!

I always have the outboard as a back up so main engine failure is not a worry.

Dylan, what sort of dinghy is that please? I found the site but they seem to have several different types. Does it tow well? Love the bread... must try it!

It is designed for trout fishing so there is a big space to stand up in. It rows a treat. It will safely accommodate five or six adults, rows nicely with two rowing position and two or four rowers, goes very well with a 2.3hp. I also rig an optimist sail which allows it to reach and run sans late or rudder. I have towed it at sea and no problemns so far. Best £300 I ever spent on boats. heylandmarine.com/trout-rowing-boat/

co-op ready mixed. Add water and olive oil.... Mix in pan, set beside metho to get yeast going, thick bottomed pan, metho cooker, diligence and patience. Co-op bread mixes very good indeed.

Can't pull the tank, so how about a twelve inch hatch just abaft the mizzen stick, with a six inch inspection cover below, right near the front of the tank? That's my plan for when she gets a case of diesel worm. THE BREAD LOOKS GREAT!

I have seen a hatch in there. Not keen on cutting a hatch in the floor. I had one on the mirror and it always leaked a little. I am confident that the marine 16 is still doing its stuff. It converts the bug mass to a free flowing gunk that settles in the water trap before getting anywhere near the filters. It has not stopped the engine once I changed the filter system from Lucas to Racor.

@@KeepTurningLeft Make the deck pretty flexy too, I expect. Hmm. I suppose she'll eventually push it all through to the filters if you run the engine lots. Happily, I've never seen any sludge, but I wish I'd pulled the tank when I had the engine rebuilt.

@@KeepTurningLeft Did the Lucas not have a glass bowl aggromalator/water trap? (sp) I always installed 2-inline on boats with dodgy tanks. Glad to hear the sludge is coming through anyway.
