Jackie and Shadow are great Eagle parents. Taking turns laying on the eggs. They're precious 💕💕

Shad always gets upset when he has to get off the nest. He’s like ughhh okay I’m off already🙄❤️😂🥰 Looks like a great break Jackie 💚❤️😁

I've watched several of these trade-offs today. They are such amazing, endearing, dedicated partners. LOVE 'em!

I would imagine Jackie is feeling pretty good now after unloading those eggs. She's also getting some good rest. Ready to do some fishing. :)

Looks like she is ready for a long night. Whatever she ate, it filled her crop really good. I understand there is more bad weather coming but she and Shadow know how to prepare for it.

Yeah. I used to live on the coast, on a bay off the North Atlantic. In the winter months, there were so many beautiful ducks and other waterfowl that would come down from Canada or wherever they lived in the warmer seasons and spend the winter right in my backyard - mergansers, canvasbacks, scaups, green wing teals, etc…and little buffleheads, they were my favorites. And, there were eagles. So, so exciting to see eagles in the wild, I will never tire of it. I spent a lot of time bird watching with binoculars. Then one day I saw an eagle snatch a bufflehead. It was horrible. ☹️

Shadow looked right at Jackie chortling/protesting, so CUTE!!!! The most adorable little chortle.

These two are such great parents!!! I will be happy to see the snow go and see some pipping the future!!

​@denisecollinsworth6310 Yeah, heard the same. I'm up in Northern Calif and we're supposed to get smacked by this storm too but not as much as Southern Calif where I just heard there is a possibility of this storm system stalling and just dumping on them till Tiesday.☹️😒

Shadow is like Johnny Depp. He does it all. He hunts, he incubates the eggs, he gets lost when Jackie doesn't want him around and continues to build the nest. He really cares and he takes this marriage and coming eaglets very seriously. I love these eagles and 3 precious eggs. I hope they are fertilized.

This is the first time jackie left for about 5 to 6 hours, am I right?

I can remember back to when Shadow was getting the parenting thing down. The shift changes this time are quick, smooth, and efficient. I do laugh when remembering times when Jackie would resort using a big stick to get Shadow off the nest. Jackie showed a lot of patience when, as an ambitious dad. he incubated a pinecone after the egg was gone. This ought to be another emotionally charged season with the possibility of 3 more Spirits.

Musta had a nice ground squirrel. Yum!

She's never laid 3 eggs before. The average clutch of bald eagles is around 2

Guardian and Liberty had 3 once about 2 years ago. The baby Rebel was bonked a lot, but he lived up to his name. That nest was very entertaining with the 3 babies. Akacheta and Thunder had 3 once. The most well-behaved babies I have ever seen. I don't think I ever saw the 3 babies fight or bonk each other ever.❤

Dulles, Greenway-- Martin & Rosa had 3 kids. Very well behaved kids. During fledging, the whole nest collapsed 😢 They all survived! Fledging went good.

Wonder why they both don’t sit in nest at night

Door Dash won't work during a storm, so Jackie has to shop for some frozen food.

How can you tell the difference between them.

If you look closely on the mid-lower left side of Jackie's neck (IE roughly about 8 o'clock → 🕗) You'll notice there's a very distinguishable single white feather 🪶 situated about an inch apart from all the rest
