My FNX-9 pointed me to the 503. I bought an FDE 503, ran 200 rds out of the gate and haven't looked back. Surprisingly little recoil for a Micro, so much so my wife bought one for herself. She stepped up from a .380 to the 503 for her Daily. For the holster, I chose the Desantis Tuck II, very comfortable, all day. I wear light suits to work here in Florida, I need something light and slim, the 503 fits that bill very well. Peeps out there are barking about capacity, the answer to that is train, train, and then train some more. CCW is to get you out of an unexpected bad moment in time, not to sustain a gun fight. People also forget, in the CCW world, every fired bullet has a lawyer attached to it.

The 503 and the Sig 365 are excellent sub compacts for concealed carry. I own one each and very pleased. The Sig appeals to me because of magazine capacity in such a small gun. FN brand is "Battle Proven" and that tends to appeal to me as well. I do not think any choice would be a bad one since the quality and reliability of each is second to none.

A good review Chris and thank you but the major tie breaker all around is shooting the two unless of course you fire the FN first you may just skip firing the 365 altogether. I’ve shot both and The FN is one sweet shooter and super accurate. It conceals great no matter where on your body you carry. I know to most I sound like another opinion that’s why I say you gotta shoot both weapons to realize what I’m saying.

Now the trigger is no where near my other carry pistols, I think I'm gonna like this very smooth, deburred factory gun. It's about as smooth as it gets, I think that's why they avoided putting a rail on it.

Great point, "Why bother?" I love F&N and I was hoping they would give the 365 some competition, but they basically gave us competition with the S&W Shield. SIG has striker pin issues (until they no longer have the striker drag issues I'll never be convinced it's good to go). Springfield soured the pro 2nd Amendment crowd with their nefarious dealings; yeah, research it, it really happened. All of this has set the stage for some gun manufacturer to step up and sweep up the perfect CCW market.

I went with the 503 simply because it felt the best for my hand. After a few month of use, I love it. My only issue is the capacity, obviously. But it really has a great feel in (my) hand and awesome trigger. The grip is really nice. My only other issue(s) is you're unable to add a light/laser. I have seen other models out now with a light molded in but you're buying another at that point. The extended mag is obviously king. Not a fan of the smaller mag for capacity and grip.

The 503 is a confusing firearm. I have a FNS 9c and love it. The hinges trigger is great. Much better then those on the M&P. Why they changed to that trigger blade makes no sense. They did away with the 9c and made the 509 compact. Double stack with 12 rounds flush mag. The 509c is 1.3” thick while the 503 is 1.1” thick. Not a big difference for double the round capacity. 509c has a 3.7” barrel and overall length of 6.8” . The 503 has a barrel length of 3.1” and overall is 5.9”. Height of the 509c is 4.8” while the 503 is 4.6”. Again is that little bit of size savings worth half the round capacity?

So the newer the weapon the better. Hmm that’s sounds like the same good advice like the more ammo capacity makes the best CCW. The review section is where you can really build your knowledge on guns.

Sig P365 all day and twice on Sunday. The Sig P365 capacity 10, 12 or 15 rounds sets a new standard in micro carry. I can pocket the Sig P365 with a 12 round mag. FN 503 needs higher capacity. 8 rounds? That's a joke

Too little too late. The Hellcat and P365 has set the bar.

FN: A single stack with, therefore, lower capacity and a bigger size. Ill stick with my 365: small, good capacity, incredibly soft-shooting. I sold off my G43 and G42s because there’s no reason for me to keep them.

Given the fact that the P365 exists and has all its bugs worked out, I wonder who would pick the 503 over the p365. P365 Seems better in every way.

I love FN guns but this was a pistol that did not need to be produced, there are other guns that are more useful and better than what this thing is.

Pfffffff.. 0:55 I see the 503 is single stack and that's enough for me. WHY would anyone choose to go 503 when the 365 is obviously the better pistol..

Grip. Accuracy, and itll shoot anything. Don't get me wrong. Sig is crazy accurate. But what from I've seen, it only likes the most expensive ammo. Think it's personal preference 99%. But that's what you're weighing. Just my opinion. Sig grip was really uncomfortable for normal adult male hands. And paying 85c a finger squueze gets old fast. You should really be mastered if you're looking to cc. One bad shot even in a life or death situation could still cost you everything. Practice shouldn't. Let's face the other issue too. If you need more than 2-3 in a self defense situation to get away. ...say like you're fighting the entire Russian army by yourself. Is a compact really the right one for you? Because of liability. Cc should really be treated as a means to egress. The idea of clint eastwood type make my day is virtually unheard of in self defense. If you're trying to stop bank robberies like a scene in Heat. More likely you'll do more damage than good. And you're responsible for that damage. 9 rounds vs 11 is negligible imo

@@TheSmb133 all the stuff you're speaking to is situational and kinda moot because you can play out any scenario in your mind and think this or that but all anyone can really do is be prepared and stay vigilant/alert of your surrounding. Now the cc situation, I'm comfortable saying that it seems a micro compact or compact and a spare mag is the norm carried by the majority so I'm not worried I'll be seen as a Dirty Harry 🙄. And I'm not talking no silly stick mag(s) hanging out the grip, just standard capacity mags. As for 2-3 shots in a self defense situation.. guess you haven't seen a guy with a few rounds in him still have some fight.. 🤦 It's over when the threat is no longer, you can't put a number on it
