I concur on the X-Macro. I’ve had the P365XL for a few years and I was hoping for more from the X-Macro. I can shoot the P365XL better (longer barrel), so I traded off the X-Macro and recouped what I paid. The P365XL is my EDC in AIWB when I wear shorts or sweats.

I agree with you about the 938 and the SCCY. Although as an OLD revolver guy who used to compete with a DA revolver I had little issue with the SCCY trigger. Mine didn't fail but I really bought it as it came with a red dot and I wanted to try the red dot since I am older (70), None of my other pistols were red dot compliant. For my initial test of the red dot the SCCY worked fine for me. I now have a Hellcat with a red dot for carry. I think the Shadow Systems Foundation series, the less frills if you will, also have upgrades over the Glock and a much better price point.

I got my Sig P938 Legion Sept 1st.this year, 741.00 out the door, brand new, including tax and all. Three 7 round mags, hard plastic case. When I registered with Sig, I got a zippered soft case (very nice btw) and a collector coin for free. Since then I've put 300 - 400 rounds threw it, both FMJ & JHP, Zero issues or malfunctions. This will be my backup/pocket and summer carry pistol. I'm Very happy with my purchase.

I dont regret for one second the Sig P365 XMacro with the Romeo X. Shoots like a dream have about 3500 rounds through it and smooth/accurate as hell. The one thing I'd like to point out, with all due respect....Reviews are based off ones personal experience with the firearm and decides to share their opinion with the world, which I get. I keep saying the same thing, it's all based off how well it feels in your hand and your shooting experience with the firearm. Whats good for the goose isnt always good for the gander and Practice makes perfect. Thanks for sharing your opinion though.

Thanks for another great vid. I thought I would share my experience with a gun that doesn't get a lot of attention. Sometime back I decided to switch all my carry guns to DA/SA/ decock platforms. I started with the HK P30SK and now I have two P30's. I am very happy with both but they are a bit pricey. I also want a back up gun and decided on the Bersa Thunder 380 and I love this little gun. That got me intrigued with the TPR9C so I picked one up. After running it through its paces without a single issue, this budget offering kinda blew my mind. Does it have all the bells and whistles of the newest offerings, no, but I have become convinced that Bersa in general and specifically the TPR9c are definitely under rated. Thanks again, I always enjoy your content.

Great feedback here! I like your discrimination in regards to reviewing the guns, positives and negatives. Personally, I can SOMEWHAT relate to the Xmacro. So I took out my 365XL the same day my brother in law brought out his XMacro and after shooting his macro, I was smitten. It was smooth as butter and provided the tightest group I’ve ever shot out the box… that being said, I went out and got my own and boy was I shocked. I shot it side by side with my XL and my XL group, only the second time shooting it, was far tighter than the macro. Now at distances of more than ten yards, the groups were still fairly close, and to be fair I tended to shoot the XL after the macro so maybe I was settling in as I transitioned to the XL, but ultimately my XL more or less outperformed the compensated macro that I had purchased. Not regretting the purchase, but a little confused at this point before I take it out more. Additionally worth noting, I have my own personal experience with a gun that will absolutely shock most people as a regrettable purchase and that is the Sig p220 elite .45. I got it for a good deal, about 900 dollars on sale at sportsman’s warehouse and couldn’t pass on the 1200 dollar gun for such a deal. When it came time to qualify with it… barely!!! I barely qualified for armed security carry… the single stack for one made it difficult given the qualification requirements, but the gun malfunctioned numerous times on me. I’ll give it some grace as I had to run close to 200 rounds through it for qualifications, but still. It literally left me with nightmares of failed defense scenarios that prevented me from wanting to carry it. What should be nearly the flagship of sig firearms left me feeling like it would fail… I traded it for a Wasr 10 Ak-47 and ultimately to the macro. While the macro may not be the butter gun shooting .5 inch groups I thought it might… it has proven itself more reliable with the same rounds spent than the p220 did. I lost all confidence in the 220 and 226 after that experience which is a shame given so many users phenomenal reviews. I just can’t do it and I’m hesitant to buy a solid frame gun like a 1911 as a result… Finally worth note, not the regrettable purchase but the gun many people have regretted that I loved was the smith and Wesson bodyguard .380 with crimson trace. Zero malfunctions in nearly a thousand rounds down range and I could tag a target at 50+ yards… now that’s a one in six shot, but damn good for a pocket pistol that nobody would ever know you’re carrying. In the end… my xl is my favorite so far but I’ll hopefully be the proud owner of either an fn 510 or Glock 20 soon and shall see how it goes. Thanks for listening and good shooting!

I saw the X-macro in the thumbnail, so I wanted to hear the justification for regrets. C’mon, you can do better than not thinking the comp is worth $150-200. I love mine, but here’s why I have minimal regrets: I bought it immediately after release. My shop had one, and the second I picked it up I knew it was the best thing I had ever seen (for my intended use). I was more impressed after shooting it. I carried it all Fall and Winter, but found the grip a little tough to conceal in the warmer months. So, I bought a P365 as well. I replaced the curved trigger so there is as little difference as possible in the overall feel. Once I started carrying that, I found I was mostly using the 12 rd mags anyway. Sig does a great job with extended mag base plates, so it really feels like an XL grip. At the time, the 17 rd mags weren’t available, but now they are. If I could do it over now that 17rd mags are available, I might consider the Specter Comp using either 12 or 17 rd magazines depending on concealment clothing. It would mean however, giving up the standard front rail on the X-macro for Sig’s proprietary. Hindsight is 20/20, but my only real regret is that there was no way I could have waited 6 months (for mags) to have 17 rd capacity in a package that is such a joy to carry and shoot!

The only one I regretted buying was a 1943 German Mauser in 8mm. It was a fantastic rifle and shot well. The issue was maintaining the rifle vs actually firing the thing. My example was one that had very poor bluing on the rear sight leaf. It had started to "plum" from age, and had also started to develop slight surface rust from the previous owner due to neglect. I wound up selling it to a friend that collects Mausers simply because I was cleaning the thing more than I was enjoying it at the range. It was a great rifle and went to a great friend who enjoys it more than I do so it all worked out.

I don't like my p938, mostly because I suck with it compared to everything else I've shot. It works well, is small, built well, looks cool, etc., so it's mostly user error as to why I don't like it. That said, with how small it is and the situation you would need it for, it would get the job done for sure. Just shooting some other similar sized guns I could shoot them better personally, so I probably just need more practice with it.

After buying the one and only Taurus (TX22) I had ever purchased (very happy) on a whim I picked up a new GX4 due to size, looks and price. I liked the in hand feel and semi straight trigger. After less than 125 rounds I started experiencing the dead trigger issue. I sent it back and Taurus sent it back with a laundry list of parts they had replaced. So far it has functioned flawlessly but I doubt I will ever be able to trust it for anything as a range toy, which I don't need. Not to mention that the rear sight has to be drifted all the way to the right for myself or anyone to hit accurately at 15 feet. It will most surely be sold as soon as they get where I can recoup my initial investment plus the ammo I wasted on it. What a drag. I already had a P365 and a P365X which have NEVER had a hiccup. What was I thinking?

I have a disagreement with the P365 XMacro. Don't get the base, get the TacOps. Sure, it's $100 more, but it comes with two extra mags ($60), and the flared magwell and larger slide release. The magazines alone make it the better deal.

  • @XrayMike17plus1

    @XrayMike17plus1

    6 ай бұрын

Just be clear - many have been calling the OG X-Maxro the base model. It's not, that's the X-Macro Comp. The base model was recently dropped by Sig. It's the TacOps minus the extended slide release and magwell, but it has the 'XL' Gen 2 slide with the forward-mounted optics cut that leaves the rear sights in place when an optic is mounted. It may have other updates as well that aren't as obvious. Personally, I don't mind buying things to enhance a pistols functionality, but don't like having to buy a gun with features I'll end up removing that may may just sit unused - like the magwell. If you're not concealing the weapon, the magwell is usefull, but makes the gun more noticeable, i.e. 'prints' more through a cover garment than the X-Macro grip module alone.

I totally get you. I bought a revolver from EAA called a windicator chambered in 357 magnum. It's a budget gun at $399.99. In less than 2 years it's been back to the manufacturer 3 times and it's still there. The first 2 times were over the same issue and the 3rd time is a different issue. Each time i sent it back, i had to pay the shipping down and back each time as their warranty process doesn't over shipping. I'm definitely selling it and not buying anymore of their products.

And if you put the recoil spring wrong, it will be a pain to disassemble to fix that problem. 2. My Sig P365 X-Macro Comp with the Romeo Zero Elite is pretty nice. After putting a total of about $1,500 into it, it should me. The pistol was about a grand. 4 more mags, a TLR 7A, and a holster for that got me a bit down the road. While the trigger pull weight was about 4.5 #, the break (the striker release) was awful. In addition, the take down of the slide to clean the striker is flawed. I spent another $300 on a M-Carbo trigger, springs, and complete titanium striker replacement, (which all just went up in price AND usually requires a 2 month wait for parts). Yes. It shoots well. It does handle incredibly well. It is great... now. I could also take a Glock 19 and drop in a $30 ( read that... thirty dollars) Ghost connector and spring kit and match the performance. It just won't feel as good or look as cool.

I feel like this was really informative. I didn’t agree with several things but your reasoning was well presented. Starting with the 365 macro I think you missed the key features that make the tacops a great value. The extra mag is nice because I never feel like I can have too many mags, the extended slide release is great and I wish that was the standard, and the mag flare is a nice touch. I wanted to agree about shadow systems but I think what you maybe didn’t acknowledge is that you are paying for more than the sum of the parts. You are paying for the convenience of the parts already gotten and assembled with a warranty. Yes you are paying a small premium for that but I think for many it’s worth it. Many people don’t have the tools and may struggle with some of the work. I am back and forth on the 938 your criticism was valid as far as what else is available but if you want a small 1911 style pistol it really checks the boxes for how it functions. I also think you maybe were a little harsh on colors of polymer pistols based on a bad model that comes in many colors. The P365 comes in many colors and there are plenty of other qualities pistols that do. Overall great video.

Got my DBAM2 for $225 AFTER FFL fee. A steal. Mine has been 100% reliable. Shoots straight, 17 round mags are nice, and ones like the 365 are too small for my hands and too big for pocket carry anyway. So this one fills my IMB role often. I did change the trigger, I removed the trigger safety all together and changed the trigger return spring (can't remember if I cut it or just stretched) and it's much better now without sacrificing reliability. The only things I don't like: the stippling is very aggressive, it rubs my belly without an undershirt and irritates my skin; a little sanding or grip tape can solve that. Other thing is, even though it says compatible with Glock sights, I changed out just the front sight for a night sight and now I shoot low at 25 yards. About 6 inches low with the dot-covering method, so I have to use a 6 o'clock hold. Other than that I really like it for a $225 gun. It is now over $400 so there are plenty of better options these days.

Ive been lucky I love all the guns Ive bought. I agree on the XMACRO I have the base model and my buddy has thr comp there is a difference but its minimal. Not worth an extra 200 to me. Also when I bought mine Sig had a rebate for 2 free mags

Won't lie, I want an FN 509. I bought the FN 545 and it has become one of my favorite pistols. I can live with heavier triggers if they are consistent. I'd like to give a 509 a try myself to see if it could actually be something I could learn to enjoy the way I do the 545.

The 509 trigger smooths out after a couple hundred rounds, it is predictable and consistent though, and once you figure out the break, it is easy to hold and fire with repeatable accuracy. I ended up getting the 510 as well.

@@localfishinghole Good to know! I'm sure I'll end up with that 509 at some point. I have a really good selection of Glocks in different calibers so probably time to start branching out more into other makes and models. Love CZ's but these new FN models have really caught my eye.

I have every model, color and variation of 509 made, including the gray and OD green models. I like them. Triggers are fine, not great. I have all the FNX models, including .40 (shut up) and still prefer them over the 509. I have the 545 and 510 also, the 510 is a lot of fun with full loads, instantly prefered the FNX 45 over the 545 so I haven't shot it much. The trigger is noticeably better in the 510 and 545 though, what are your thoughts?

The wall on the FN is what I love about it. I love knowing exactly where it is at. In fact it is my favorite trigger in a polymer pistol, but like you said a lot of this is opinion based.

I own 2 pistols 1) Taurus Millennium PT-111 G2 9mm Sub-Compact 2) Canik SFX Rival Darkside The Taurus is the 1st pistol I've owned and while not a great pistol, it isn't bad either and it was cheap. The Canik is a great pistol. It shoots great, it's accurate ( More that I will ever be ) and it's reliable. I don't regret getting either one and chances of me selling either one is zero.

My daughter bought one of those SCCYs, I took one look and rolled my eyes. I unholstered it, cleared it and pulled the trigger, told her this was not a great pistol at any price. She likes it, though, so what ya gonna do. The only pistol I've really regretted buying for myself was a gen 5 Glock 17. I bought it because I figured the platform is ubiquitous, everybody has one, they're easy to work with, the aftermarket is absurdly huge, they're reliable, mags can be had for something like $12 compared to $60 for my HK, and it just seemed like a good idea at the time. I took the damned thing to the range once and hated it. I cleaned it, boxed it back up and stuck it in the back of the closet for a year before eventually trading it in toward a Tisas Raider. I realize some people love Glocks, they don't work for me. My go-to carry pistols are a P365XL, a VP9OR and when I'm feeling spicy, the Tisas.

@BirdDogey1 I've been pretty pleased with it; it's a joy to shoot and reliable as long as I'm not feeding it garbage ammo.

I regret my berretta apx carry. The take down damaged the part that rotates because the metal is to soft and you need to use tools or brass to take it apart. Also it only holds six to 8 rounds and weighs 20oz . I should have waited for the a1 version with an improved take down or goten a shield plus that has 2x the capacity for the same weight.
