What??!! These videos are perfect.!! Absolutely perfect like your best friend sitting here in the kitchen talking to you. You learn from each other and what in the world people are thinking commenting like this?

Thank you for not making "perfect" videos. I'm here because I get overwhelmed trying to be perfect. The minor "imperfections" in the videos help me to realize perfection is not what counts, taking baby steps to improve & move forward is. Thank you.

I love watching your videos and think they are perfect just the way they are. You are warm and personable. The repetitions are great and necessary for learning a new skill. Your birds make me happy (only, I keep watching for the hopes that one day they will pop up in a video. They can be our flying mascots :) ! Really, the videos are clear and simple without the distractions of title pages or music. I find them soothing and inspiring.

Wow, I can't believe anyone would say that your videos don't measure up bc they're not "perfect." These are the BEST bc you make these goals so accessible by NOT presenting them in that manner, where you're showing off video editing skills, etc. Those types of videos tend to be distracting since there is less emphasis on the message, overall, since they water it all down for the sake of wanting to please a very wide spectrum of viewers visually and aurally . As for the content, that's watered down to be pleasing, as well. Thank you for making these. I thought it was silly to insist that shining the sink would change my life and I did it begrudgingly on the first day, not even knowing why I was doing it or following along on your channel. It was "just another thing" I had to do, which I felt I didn't need. Well, it has changed my life enormously. From day one. I appreciate you putting this information out here.

Thank you Diane, I have tried the babysteps about four times in the past 8 years. But never did I get past week 1 before my perfectionism kicked in and I bought a new binder and printed out the whole flylady website and... Got stuck. Again and again. Now I found your videos and they help me to not feel overwhelmed to take the babysteps. I am a visual person and I need someone to show me how to do these steps. And today I decluttered for 15 minutes, even though I was tired from work, I made a milion excuses. I did them. Because you motivate me with your videos and help me take tiny steps with a smile on my face. I am proud of myself. Loves this serries. Thumbs up.

I know this video was made 3 years ago, but I just watched it and I wanted to stop and tell you that I really enjoy your videos! I've watched many of them and just listening to you makes me happy! I really appreciate the fact that you spoke about things don't have to be perfect. In an earlier video you hit the nail on the head for me when you said we don't like to start anything because we have to do it perfectly and so we don't finish anything. That is me all over! I am persevering and learning to tackle things a little bit at a time. Thank you so much for all your encouragement.

Hi Diane. I've been watching your videos for a while now and I just want to say THANK YOU!!! You didn't have to do your videos, you didn't have to share tips and tricks of good housekeeping with us, you didn't have to do all the nitty gritty tedious work of filming, editing and uploading your videos for anyone's benefit, you didn't have to care enough to want to put yourself in there as the 'cheerleader' for anyone, you didn't have to open up and be honest and vulnerable about your experiences, you didn't have to put up with the flak that come from negative people giving comments like the one about your videos... and YET you still do it. That's brave. That's generous. That's caring. That's kind. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who benefit from having a mentor like you, a positive role-model and someone to cheer them on (myself included). And for those reasons I think you are more perfect than a whole lot of people. I'm seeing slow but sure improvements in my home organising / housekeeping these past couple of weeks. Anyone that comments about your videos not being perfect could just not watch them. Being judgemental about others is something I have been working on for awhile. Accept people as they are and I think your videos are great. I personally like tidy and no cluster so I already do a version of some of your routine but I watch the whole video. I think it's brilliant the ideas you have and a great reminder. I now think about making sure my kitchen sink and counters are clean and tidy so i don't have to do any cleaning in the morning. Makes my day start better. thanks again.

I'm probably late to Flylady but I am on Day 10 and I totally love it. Diane your videos are clear and concise, everyday I look forward to seeing the wonderful outfits you have curated. You have a be kind to yourself attitude which gives the system such universal appeal. I am recommend your videos to my Mummy friends as well as to my own Mum. I must confess I don't do the shoes (I am pretty OCD about shoes in the house, and don't want to confuse my children about this. Therefore I have my shoes for the day at the door ready but otherwise I'm completely ready, even down to my strip lashes). I am keeping and eye out for a house shoe somewhere between a ballet pump style slipper and a shoe. Can't wait for tomorrow. Thanks again Diane (beautiful Scottish accent btw) x

Yesterday's room rescue was amazing! My garage has been a mess for months and in 5 mins my half was tidy! Probably the OTHER half of the garage might have a bit of rubbish. Might do it after the school holidays.

Hi Diane, I'm still with the program, for 10 days now, whoot, whoot. My sink is shiny and I'm dressed to shoes (obviously, as today is an office day and I'm at my work now). I actually started to use the 15min timer (online timer) to declutter my office today. I have piles of paper on the sides of my desk (some are there for months, if not years 8o) and for the first time I didn't feel overwhelmed to get started and get a dent in the first pile, as I knew I could declutter for 15 min and then get back to doing what I need to do for my projects. I have made an appointment with myself to declutter my piles for 15 min a day when I'm at work, so hopefully in a few weeks my desk will be clean (read: visible) again. Thanks for all the support. I enjoy your videos and recommend them because you are real and encouraging l.💕 I've been working at FkyLady for a few years 'on and off' and being encouraged by you for about four years. I'm going through these baby step videos as I'd not ever gotten the hotspot and PUPA, or room rescue worked into my routine. Now's the time! I'm enjoying and benefitting from your new three a week videos as well, and am much more satisfied with myself and my home than several years ago. I wrote out "Anything is better than zero!" on a Post-it note and stuck it to my computer monitor. It is now covered in affirmations and reminders. I had to go through and delete my FlyLady e-mails from earlier in the week because I didn't do them and I felt like I had to finish Monday's missions, as well as Tuesday's and then do today's. It was overwhelming to say the least. I told my husband how I was feeling and after talking with him I decided to just delete them and start fresh today. Right now. Thank you so much for doing these videos.

New one week old Flybaby here. I really resonated with your comment about enjoying everyday of your life and not wishing you were somewhere else or doing something else. I was spending my days doing as little as possible in my home maintenance just enough that it looked reasonably attractive. I was also sitting reading most of the day and I was still bored. Every so often I would crank out a watercolor or walk my dogs. Now after just one week I am reaping the benfits of that ripple effect of the shined sink. I wanted everything else in the house to match and I can see this happening so easily. My challege as a T3 S4 is to not let my reactive nature and unbridled enthusiam run away with the baby! Now I love my routines! They are vastly entertaining and the gratification from ticking off the items on my list makes me so happy, I love the challenge of it all now that there are safe baby steps and not a totally overwhelmimg whole. I was that littlt girl in second grade who would just cry when presented with a page of one hundred math problems. The enormity of the task was traumatizing and that feeling still comes up today if I look at my house as one big clean and organize task, but clearly I can manage my life this way and the peace of mind is such a blessing. Than you for your fun, positive and supportive energy. I do have my tickets to the I Love My Life event in October and am holding light around the idea if its’ still happening. This particular vid was good for me because I struggle with perfectionism.
