Better comparison would be people in Tromsø or Finnmark complaining about the darkness🥲 and they actually get daylight during the day, unlike Longyearbyen

@@MsBabbi is it weird I’m envious of that? I feel more energetic and awake when it’s dark and it’s cause my life such stress living in the southern US (still northern hemisphere of course but not north enough for me) The days are getting longer and I hate it. Daytime is just too hectic and the sun is overstimulating for me. I need a calmer place and even though people still do their daily stuff when it’s dark, the dark makes it feel more calm. I also hate heat and love snow. I’ll trade someone a spot in Tennessee for a spot anywhere northern lol

Wow the difference in just 5 minutes. We are winter people as well and enjoy the darkness of winter. We don’t have polar nights though as there is still 6 hours of light. Glad you had a safe trip home and a wonderful trip to Portugal. 🙋♀️🙌🏻

Copenhagen, Oslo or any Danish/Norwegian city she mentioned here isn't her native language but close enough 😅 I mean Swedes and Norwegians can pretty much understand each other without a problem. Danes and Finns are the oddballs of the main Nordic languages, and don't get me started on Icelandic lol

Edelweissair has a nonstop flight from Zürich to Tromsö. From Portugal to Basel you could book a cheap Easyjet flight, take a 1h train to Zürich or book Tap to Zürich. So that would be only a 3 leg flight and I guess a less needed time back to Svalbard 😉.

I just found out airships are a thing??? They have one going from Svalbard!! OceanSky Cruises is the company they have a 36 hr itinerary from Svalbard to the North Pole. Felt like it had your name written all over it. Much love from New Mexico!
