AIN’s Editor-in-Chief Matt Thurber traveled to Embraer Executive Jets’ U.S. Factory in Melbourne, Florida to fly the new Phenom 300E and sample the new jet’s faster top speed, upgraded avionics, and improved cabin.
The $9.65 million new 300E combines the Bossa Nova interior aesthetic, inspired by the larger Praetor models, with a much quieter cabin, as well as Gogo’s high-speed Avance L5 airborne connectivity system.

@@joaojk8690 Errado, Santos-Dumont foi pelo menos o co-inventor, hoje em dia já se aceita esse fato e vários historiadores já abordaram o tema inclusive nos EUA. Faça o teste, use uma VPN pra acessar o google US e procure "Santos-Dumont inventions", vai aparecer que o avião (fixed wing aircraft) é uma das invenções dele. Isso significa que até a maior empresa de tecnologia dos EUA reconhece na sua base de informações que Santos-Dumont foi um dos co-inventores do avião moderno.

Honestly Learjet shouldn’t be considered a competitor in my opinion because they aren’t single pilot certified. These Embraer aircraft are amazing.

Does Embraer produce safe and reliable aircraft with sophisticated avionics? Are they a serious competitor to Gulfstream and Bombardier in the private jet market?

I was a captain on the 175 and flew that plane for 4 and half years and it’s on of my favorite airplanes I’ve flown. Safe comfortable and can we hardly if ever was weight restricted even with full fuel and all the seats full for a 4 hour flight!

That's honestly pretty common for business jets nowadays. The Citation Ultra I fly which was built in the early '90s comfortably cruises at FL450. And certain Learjets as well as the Citation X can make it up to FL510.

@@capt_jack9949 FL510 is amazing but this type requires two pilots. Embraer Phenom 300E is SINGLE pilot certified to fly at FL450 and that is very impressive thou.

In its class I would take the Honda but once you jump up to super light jet I would prefer the phenom 300e or the pc24 depends

I have about 150 hrs in the Phenom 100 and though that it was a great little jet. I’d love to get into the left seat of the 300 and see how well it flys for myself.

@@v1_rotate638 440 vs 464 knots is not that big of a difference. A 4 hour flight in a Phenom will take 4 hours 15 minutes in the PC-24. And the PC-24 climbs just a tad faster, so realistically, it's all the same.

@@wojciechmuras553 pc24 does not climb faster. And phenom cruises happily at .76 while the pc24 is .68-.7. I’m literally typed in the Phenom and a close friend flies a -24. We compare them all the time

@@wojciechmuras553 they’re both painfully slow but the climb rate and cruise speed means the phenom will get there appreciably faster. The P300Es are faster than the original 300s too, capable of .78m in normal cruise and .80m MMO

So, your take off was calculated to be 3055 feet? That really opens up a lot of airports. Would have liked to hear what the landing roll was.
How long before they add the feature anyone in the back could set it down safely with ground instructions of course ?

Cool. Nice review. The Embraer rep must have thought you were the worst pilot ever. Haha. But it's nice that you really put it through its paces.
My ideal jet would be a mix of this Phenom 300E and the Pilatus 24, able to land almost everyewhere, like a helicopter.

PC24 has way too low a useful load imo... a lot of space, but a big trade off in fuel if you want to fill that space

Yes for charter business 300e for sure but if I won lotto and had nothing to do but fly for fun the short field advantages and cargo door would be big factors but as charter business jet 300e all day

If you sit there fat, dumb and happy, yes. But crossing the street would be dangerous too. However, if you know the limitations and act on them, then there is no danger.....

A google search reveals a significant number of accidents related to "overrunning the runway " . This plane does not have thrust reverse capability. Is this the primary cause ?

A lot of business jets in this price range doesn't have them for some reason.
Why does he TELL us what happened, with music in the background? Why not SHOW us and let us HEAR the ROAS?
Needs Advanced AT coupled VNAV ASAP G3000 can do this. No brainer.

I think the overruns / unstable approaches are intentional to demonstrate the system. Flying Mag did the same thing

Yes, precisely. Matt flew the aircraft that way to demonstrate how the avionics would react. He's type rated in multiple jet aircraft. Thanks for watching!
There is a LOT of stuff on that flight display, in addition to the warning indicators. A normal HUD isn't good enough for business aviation? Put the info that's needed where it's needed, not on a cluttered display down in the cockpit.

@@2xKTfc They're not working with Boeing. You're a year late, their JV didn't suceed. Boeing has so many debts to pay and could not afford the price to acquire Embraer's commercial division due the problems they're facing with the MAX. Nevertheless, Embraer never intended to sell its business division to Boeing in the past, only the commercial jets were in that failed negotiations.

It looks clunky in the cockpit. Looks like it’s got all the right parts, but just mashed together to make a functional plane, not a beautiful functional plane. It’s like you’ve invented Fatima Whitbread, whereas we really want Jessica Ennis. Whitbread gets the job done just fine, but Ennis.... no contest.

Wtf the cockpit is gorgeous
Definitely disappointed in this review. Would have loved to actually SEE and HEAR what was going on and not just listen to some 80s music and voice over throughout the video. Still an impressive aircraft. Would love to fly one for someone.

We are sorry that you didn't enjoy the video, but there's not much to hear except for the constant sound of air rushing over the fuselage and jet engine sounds, and the visuals covered what we were focusing on, which was mainly the upgrades to the avionics and the impressions of what it's like to fly the aircraft. As for the music, there's no accounting for taste. Thanks for watching!

@@AINvideo totally understand. But I would have liked to at least hear the aural warnings etc. vs voice overs or you could have cut some flying audio in for some parts to bring us actually onboard. Also, don't misunderstand, I have nothing against the specific music, I had something against music being there vs engine/wind/avionics sounds. Still enjoyed lots of the shots and demonstrations. Look at FlightChops and you'' understand maybe what I mean.
I'm coming here out of desperation for a donation. I'm struggling with my back and need surgery. I was involved in a hit and run while out on my motorcycle and broke my back. Among other injuries my back in the worse. Can anyone help? I'm sorry to come across like this but I'm seriously struggling mentally as it's been 4 years of agony.
