Flying a Stock Submarine to the Deepest Point in the Solar System - KSP

Ойындар

Taking my suped-up stock submarine twenty thousand leagues under the sea! Launch stats: 1036 parts, 5902 tons and 70000 kN of THRUST! This is definitely the video I am most proud of -- so far! -- and it took an AGE to design, record and edit. I really, really hope you enjoy. It's good to be back!!

    The sounds sounding heavy and massive, the editing that made it all look like a breeze, the size of the rocket, design of the rocket, how the fairing ALMOST overheated but didn't, the decoupling touch of the 10m heatshield pushing away the submarine, the wing unfurling, the tail coming out, the gliding, the releasing of wings, the submarine itself and its prop design, and the Kerbal that didn't float to the surface. I just cannot decide which part was the coolest. All of them look and sound amazing and some of them are SO close to 'the edge' that it must've taken you a LOT of effort to find that sweetspot where it all works! The literal jumping fish clip was the funniest though ;) How did you get the Kerbal to stick under the sub? I thought it would try to float up? Or do they somehow maintain their ability to walk if you clamp them between the ground and a craft?

  • @Hazardish

    @Hazardish

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thank you very much for the kind words! A kerbal will float up unless they are in a gap as tall as they are. So by walking right under the middle of the sub, the helmet is constantly in contact with the hull and they can walk. If I had walked to the side then poor Val would have been launched upwards

Also, 11:33 lol I do have a question though: How are you getting the breaking ground robotics so stiff? Every time I try something like this, it just flops around due to lack of structural integrity, even with a healthy dose of autostrut

    8:25 is easily the most badass deployment I have ever seen!!! after an overall very cleanly designed launch vehicle, this payload takes it way over the top like we know and love it from Hazard-ish. Your senses of pacing and video composition (and craft design) are impeccable!

    This is one of the most beautiful KSP videos I've ever seen. Not only is the rocket build incredibly aesthetic, but the camera work is incredible I've tried shots like 3:20 & 6:30 before and it took me like three hours and they didn't look nearly this good 8:25 I adore this unnecessary articulation so much, not to mention the wing deployment too 10:54 The framing here is exquisite The underslung crew cabin is genius, pesky floaty kerbals
