Hazard-ish If you're going to make a ksp video that's fake, at least put it in the description. you obviously used infinite fuel hacks for this. your take off from duna started with and ended with 0 oxidizer. using rocket engines.

Me if I was doing this: "Oh man, I forgot the docking port.." "Oh shoot, the landing legs are placed wrong." "Damn it, the solar panels are crashing into the vessel." "Heck, the base won't get out of the cargo bay.." "Crap, where did my Kerbal go..?"

Can't help but give you credit for that genius setup for the encounter with the KSC. Making the aerobrake against the rotation of the planet to perfectly reenter above the runway... truly magnificent.

Beautiful, I loved the base setup! :D It was amazing to hear the Motherload music too.

Exceptional music, thought-through and elegant design, fitting cinematic shots kept in low number, thus not irritating. I must say, that this is one of the best KSP videos I've seen yet. Keep up the great work!

That base assembly, the sheath for the docking ports, and the camerawork during that shot were incredible. Nice stuff Hazardish!

That disassembling and reassembling base was definitely the most impressive part of this.

I used to play a lot of KSP. I have very nearly 600 steam hours logged on it... and I've never, not once, ever come close to pulling off something as impressive as that. Fuck me, fuck you, that was mind blowing and amazing in every single way. Nicely done.

600? I laugh at thy. I have 1500 last time I checked (I think), and have flown a rover to Eeloo. I'm joking of course. Not about the hours (I love orbital mechanics, rockets and shit), but about my temperament. Also, I've never pulled off an SSTO in that time, even in Sandbox. I can't even build a flyable shuttle to save my arse. It can fly OK for a bit, but then she just does a barrel roll and nose dives.

my biggest accomplishment is eloo ssto using kraken drive i found myself(it turned out it was found before me)

The cinematography in this video is amazing. I was dumbfounded the entire time with the presentation AND the absolute complexity of the builds

What's so amazing about his oxidizer? Run the rockets till it runs out when leaving Kerbin, don't need it the rest of the time since he used nuclear engines. EDIT: Oxidizer shown during his duna landing would be in the base itself (it needs oxidizer for its assembly engines)

I know, it would be hard... but look at the good sites: your Kerbalonaut will start the mission in 18 years old, and after mission he (or she, I don't care): only 19 years old! Pretty young, you must say!

OMG! Those designs are impressive and marvelous... I love this curvy tail, really you've done some great work, can't wait to test it!

I've landed on Duna before, but base building is one of those things I just can't do. Along with planes, cargo carrying SSTOs, slingshots, landing at the KSC, capturing asteroids for less fuel than they give you, transfer to a planet with an inclined orbit...

For the last one you mentioned, you're gonna want to plan a second maneuver node on your projected first maneuver path, and add some normal/anti-normal push to it so that the apoapsis of your transfer orbit matches the inclination of the planet.

Dang, that landing. Looked like the G meter was pegged in the red. Nice job, I can't build a good ssto for anything, can't ever seem to get the transition between atmosphere and space right. I always lose control at around 30 to 40 Km up.

Man Of War that means your plane doesn't have enough thrust. try to get to 10 km ASAP, and then flaten your plane out a bit (5 to 10 degrees) and if your plane doesn't hit the 1300 m/s mark before 16 km, you need more thrust. also, switch on your nuclear engines (or other vacuum engines) at the height of 16 km. switch your rapiers to closed cycle not long after. you might want to close your intakes when they are unnecessary (reduces drag). hope it helps👍

mrjspeed well, i said it was optional. and it's a habit. i also like to make sure. as i am a "precision engineering person" (have exactly or not enough for the mission, and then carry it out)

If only this was possible in real life space travel would be so much easier...

That base assembly was a master piece! I've tried to do something like that before, and I have to say my attempt was laughable compared to this. How did you line it up so perfectly to skip and come back right on top of the KSC!? I'm honestly astounded. Top marks all around for this mission.

About two years ago, I made a Duna base similar to the planned Mars base in NASA's currently shelved Constellation programme. The logic was all there, and I had it all figured out, but I kept smashing into Duna everytime I tried. Time and time again, every flight ended with me leaving yet another black mark on Duna's surface. Eventually I just gave up and used Hyperedit. :'D Unrelated, but this video is astounding. Really love the time and effort put into this.

Very nice base assembly. But more importantly in my opinion is the fact that this is one of my favourite-looking SSTOs I've ever seen. I love the curved wing design, and getting that engine configuration to work must've taken some clever engineering.

Finally back!!! God damn it I missed this so much! That SSTO looks beautiful btw.

DANG you are good at ship design! Not only is that SSTO functional, it looks awesome.

Your music choices and cues are on fleek.

Love the very close landing at the end, gear was fully deployed at the very same second it touched the ground. One second earlier on the landing and the plane would have crashed or bounced off. Plane looks good btw.
