Flying a Kite through New England! Cape Cod and Isle of Shoals. Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 294

Join us as we fly the kite and sail through New England visiting Cape Cod and Isle of Shoals NH along the way! We set sail leaving Block Island in our wake. The conditions are absolutely perfect so we decide to hoist our spinnaker from Precision Sails. We have an amazing sail and stop in Hadley Harbor, just next to Woods Hole, where we switch out to our new outboard engine on Maggie. With wind in our favor we sail to the Cape Cod Canal and then to ProvinceTown (P-Town), Cape Cod where we explore the beach and lighthouse. We make it to Isle of Shoals in New Hampshire where we explore the islands by drone and dinghy, actually making it into Maine waters for the first time this season!
Thanks for watching and sending you all much love and lot's of hugs! Brian, Kazza, and The Little Nugget

Sierra sitting in the river with her mom really enjoying the happy moment. Mom then throws rock in the river. Sierra gets startled and assesses possible threat. Two seconds later, she determines no threat. Back to her happy place. Such a cute moment.

This segment starts at 6:04 I noticed that the editor timed the music so the guitar playing comes to a stop and then resumes when Sierra continues smiling. It's such a rich moment in the video, and was captured and edited very well!

Get the US Sailing Basic Keelboat book to learn more about points of sail. Note that not every sailboat is equipped with a spinnaker “kite”. This makes sailing downwind tricky or impossible ... also funny to hear people in Iowa know more aware of sail configs than my regular crew. Haha

The Enduro served you well. There is something about this video. Cant put my finger on it. Maybe its the punchy music, Capt Brian's commentary about "flying the kite" which I hope you put out more of for those of us that doesn't know squat about sailing in general, but love it anyways. I dunno, maybe I just missed Capt Brian's soothing voice when doing commentaries. And Little Nugs is really cute. What I am saying is this video is good!. I like it! I like it a lot! On a halyard with the bottom of the halyard fastened forward or slung between the forestay and mast as high as you can reach. Hope this helps. John in UK. Wow, been following you all around the world these years . . And you arrive in my own home !! What a kick !! I worked at the Isles of Shoals for many summers. You sailed within a few miles of my home and anchorage (Ipswich. Mass). I'd heard you were headed this way, but at the time, I was right behind you coming up from Annapolis in my new boat. I hope I was able to help you along by keeping all the crummy weather right on top of me in the Chesapeake Bay so that you wouldn't have to put up with it. Wish I had known you were coming . .sigh . . But I'm sure hundreds lined up to show you around. A trip to Maine isn't complete without diving on the prop to untangle a lobster pot at least once. You get used to it. That and fog. I have a Marshall 22 (for local trips) and a Tanton 44 (the new one) that I'm outfitting for hopefully longer cruises. Your drone footage shows many locations where much beer, etc. was consumed. Were it not for Covid, you would have been very welcome to visit Star Island. We don't like that it had to close any more than you did But, thanks for the nice description. You captured the idea of the place very well for people from "away" . .

This is a delightful video. The camera work and editing are excellent! It's absolutely none of my business, but when Covid is finally resolved, it would be great to see you bring back a rotating crew. There was always an energy in having other adults sharing in your adventures. I suspect that Sierra would also benefit from having the opportunity to engage with other people on an ongoing basis. It would also ease your workload, because you are basically sailing shorthanded now.

It has to really be setting in that you've become celebrities. Wherever you go people are waving from the shore. You have so many fans. You give adventures and education to those who are old and inspiration for those who can to do more. Something I bet you never considered when you started this adventure.
