A quick trip to Meon Springs, UK still water, so Kevin can have his 2nd fishing day. Possibly the first frost of the year and the wind was up, the water was cloudy but plenty of fish could be seen and they seemed hungry. (Snowbee 10'' 5wt).

My mate about ten years ago caught a 17lb pet brown trout from this venue he said it was like reeling in a sack off spuds no fight at all!😅😢😮

I can imagine that a fish that size might not be upto fighting 😂 I think all browns go back in, so there left to get bigger... Good job the more normal size fish fight well and tast great.😋
loks murky water alott of weed, so you did well to catch n land on that pond. Can i ask what yourset up is?Rod and line details if poss.

Hi, thanks for your comment, for the small ponds I use a Snowbee Classic 7ft #5-6 for stalking and getting under the trees etc and a Snowbee Classic 10ft #4-5 for a bit off extra distance when needed. Both rods are great for the price and have served me well. I pair both of them up with a Stillwater C60 reel as again there great for the price and come with spare spools. At he moment I'm using Polyfuse XT Fourty Plus Extreme distance WF5F line, is has a bit of memory but one straightened it performs well, (again for the price). For the bigger ponds I move up to a Wychwood RS Comp 10ft #7 and a Vision Nite Catapult 9'6ft #7-8, theses are just great for distance and chucking big flies in poor conditions. Again I'm using a Stillwater C90 reel but with better Rio Gold WF7-8 line. What setup are you using?
