Hello and welcome to my KZread channel. These are my trips to local and not so local still water fly fishing venues. I am normally joined by a few friends, and we normally like to go to catch and keep fisheries where we can take those lovely trout home for dinner, I do like my pan-fried trout and the dogs love the skin :-) it’s a family affair. We try and get out fishing as often as we can and try to make a day of it. It’s great to spend time with the guys by the water chewing the fat and keeping an eye out for those fish. I hope you like my videos, please comment, like and subscribe as this not only helps my channel but also the fisheries that we visit and I’m sure that if you haven’t been to any of them, they would like you to visit in the near Future, If you know of any fisheries that could be worth a visit, then please leave a comment, and thanks again.
Any constructive criticism would be very grateful. Tight lines and may the fish be with you @sledgeflyfishing

Good bag of fish looked difficult conditions
❤❤❤❤❤👍👍🇲🇦
Nicely done Sir, such clear water to cast into… proves that you don’t have to catch double figure fish to have a great time. Tight lines
Great video as always, “It’s in the Net” Recently went 5# myself but needed a 2nd rod so too out the Aydon (seen on your videos), Nymphmaniac and the new Greys Wing. Well in the end it was a hard choice between the Aydon and the wing but the Aydon just felt more right for me. Thank you for bringing them to my attention. Taking her out for a live test run at Frensham next week 🥳🥳
I've been very impressed with the Aydon. It has to be the best rod I've had. The guys I go with keep borrowing it and they love it too. All the best for Frensham, I've only been once but need to go again. They have soom nice browns in their.
Do you fish frensham a lot? there are some great videos at www.youtube.com/@barrybigplums, he does some good videos 👍
@@sledgeflyfishing I also follow Chad (BBP), think I have a watched both of your back catalogues, most more than once as it keeps me going in between trips 🤣😂🤣😂
Awesome video awesome fishing ❤️🥰😍👌👋🏻😀👍🏻🤗🐟🐠🎣💯
Another all action video, thanks for taking me back to one of my favourite fisheries anywhere in the south of this country. A superb venue run by a great guy.
Thanks grandpa-Chris, its a great day out and lots of nice fish, Can't wait for your next video 😃
Brilliant stuff m8 cheers
Very beautiful spot beautiful done with catches and fishing 👋🏻🤗👍🏻🥰😍👌💯🐠🎣🐟💙🩵🤍
Nicely done Sir,
First .nice watch n nice fish I've been fishing different coloured eggstacy worms since last August. They never let me down . Can you fish them all year round ? I've been catching constantly so far .cheers
Hi, depending on the water you fish, you will be able to catch all year round, but your catch rate could start to go down as the water warms up and natural food increases. A lot of fish will start to go for the smaller more abundant food, so might be woth keeping some smaller flies on you 👍
@@sledgeflyfishing thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with me..I'm still a novice butt I can't believe I catch when even when the water is abundant wi life .I was wondering if it maybe triggered a bite just as an annoyance factor
Absolutely works annoying the fish. They're teratorial and can get aggressive, but warmer water has less oxygen and the fish are less active and they don't like the chase so much. If you fish in warmer summer waters, you'll notice the fish slowing down, just cruising, with the mouth going just picking up food that's hovering by, this is ware a small buzzer, spider type fly becomes the goto, and its always handy to have some floating fly's like a top hat buzzer or beatles handy. If your water is cooler and maybe spring fed you'll do well all year,
@@sledgeflyfishing thanks again for your time ,I have taken your advice on board and will be giving it a go .I've a lot to learn .but good folks like yourself will get me there .cheers n many thanks
hi Sledge, what do you do with the heads and frames? just bin them?
Hi, I have a friend who has a few, and he does some soups and things, but he's had quite a few recently so there are a few going in the bin at the moment. It's a bit of a shame as I don't like waist. What would you do with them?
Appalling treatment of the big blue and to not have a net for the 1st fish is inexcusable
fantastic spot lad, would love to fish there
That's not 9 lbs. Never in life. That's why you have so few subscribers. You lie.
Amazing how you haven’t got a net for the small one and it snaps you off dragging up bank fishery must love this
Unfortunately my net must have popped off the clip earlier and I didn't realise, no one was around for me to borrow a net. I wasn't happy about the situation and will certainly make more effort to keep an eye on my net, sometimes mistakes happen 🙃
That was one of the most ridiculous things I've seen ever seen by an angler in over 40 years of fishing :(
Its a real days fishing, I don't like to edit out the stupid things that I do, sometimes i mess up, its not great and I'm not happy about it, but it happened. I will certainly be keep an eye on my landing net a lot more after this @wolfypics7339
@@sledgeflyfishing Ok thanks, appreciate your honest reply..
Percy-Verance… nice bloke, great effort Sir.
Thank you. biggest, best Blue ever 🐋
@@sledgeflyfishing I had a 6 pound blue out of Longacre about a month ago, on a suspended egg… it snatched the egg from under the nose of a Much bigger blue… they are a stunning variety of trout and always in great condition…congrats on your p.b.
@@Grandpa-Chris I've never seen a blue look so blue 🐳, They have some great catches at Rockburne
Nice watch good angling sir
Lovely blue Malcolm! 🎣 Hope you’re well, Dan
Hi Dan, we had a great day out. Some nice fish, some great company and the sun even showed up, can't beat it 😀
Well in my friend
Rockbourne trout fishery is fast becoming one of the best small water fisheries in the country… superb fish, superb management team and the most peaceful place to spend a few hours casting a line… well done Sir…
Thanks for your comment, very true, Rockbourne is probably the best fisherie arround this area and very much worth a visit. My son helped me out with a season ticket so I'll be visiting Rockbourne quite frequently I hope, tight lines
Looks like a blue to me. Lovely fish!
Thank you, It looked like a nice blue and I got a bit excited and then started to doubt myself 😄 we had a good day and hope to go and get one of those browns next time.
Great video and fishing 👍🥰🤗👋🐟🐠🎣
Looks terrible Malcolm
I think we have all suffered with the weather recently. Going out again this Friday with the hope of better fish to come 🐋
💕 Wow💚💚💚💙💙💚💙
Well done braving the floods and windy weather nice fish
Nice video awesome fishing 🎣 🐟🐠
Lovely fishery manningford , conditions were very much against you. But well done getting a couple out.
Hardest days fishing in a long time, but a great place to fish, well worth a visit.
Nice video. I always love to see the chase and takes-the tug is the drug even if I’m at my desk watching a video when I’m supposed to be working! 😂
Thank you for your comment, very true, fishing is definatley addictive. Back to work for me untill the bank holiday weekend 🐟🐟🐟
Some awesome fish great video 👋🥰🤗👍🐟🎣🐠
Some lovely fish well done all of you 😀
They do fight hard there, superb quality. I’m there next weekend, my first day out for almost 3 months due to illness… my casting arm is already twitching. Thanks for sharing
Good luck on the fishing, there fighting well, I think its one the best local fishies arround. Tight lines
What a negative boring sounding person 🙄
Nice big fish well in my friend. Got an 11pounder in December. It got me old heart pumping and as excited as a virgin on prom night. Brilliantly done well in. Whar a buzz
Thank you for your comment and well done on the 11 pounder, its a great feeling when you get a big fish on. They do have some big fish in there 🙂
@@sledgeflyfishing more for you too catch my friend cheers
That was trout Tyson ….
Hi @barrybigplums It was a monster, best fighting fish I've seen in a long time and there's more in there.
Frensham is a great little venue with a great mixture of species to catch. Don’t be fooled there are a few bigger fish hidden in the depths too. It’s a nice intimate little venue … if you go back I really urge you to try the dry fly sport there it honestly is one of the best dry fly waters I have ever fished
Thank you for your comment,Barry. It was a great day's fishing. I did get snapped off by a lump. So I know there's something good in there. I think we'll definitely go again.
Looks great! I think this is definitely the next place I’ll try. Top video, thanks for uploading matey.
Thank you for your comment. It looks like it could be a great place to go once you get to know the place 😀
@@sledgeflyfishing well…. I only know one way to get to know the place…. Time to go fishing. 😁😁
@Tightlinesandscreamingreels too true.. it will be in a couple off weeks ir me at Rockbourne as Dave has some fish tickets to use up
@@sledgeflyfishing never tried rock bourne. I’ll have to give it a go this year.
Worth a look on there facebook page, they stock with some very nice fish, you can catch some monsters. they have also just started catch and release for the winter season. It does keep going up in price but all fisheries seem to be doing the same. @@Tightlinesandscreamingreels
Fantastic. I'm off out the morra n white is defo on the menu
Nice fishing 👋🥰🤗👍🐠🎣🐟
Well done Dave, you got there in the end!
Never seen Dave smile so much 🙂
Wow that water really is gin clear. Looks like a fun venue, I’ll definitely have to check it out soon! Great video and some lovely fish there.
Its a great place and is renowned for its clear water all year round, only one problem... the fish can see you too 😂
@@sledgeflyfishing ha ha. That can definitely be a problem. I’ve been fishing at Albury Estate for the last year or two and as that’s also a chalk fed stream/lakes….. the fish can see you when you are still putting your waders on in the car park! Makes for fun fishing. Great video again buddy!
Nice brownie, slim but it's probably been in the pond a while .great stuff
Nice catches 🥰👋🤗👍🎣🐠🐟💙🩵
It looks to be a beautiful fishery, I’m going to have to add this to my list. Happy New Year and thanks for posting.
Its nice to try some where differant, maybe some blue trout next time 🙂
Well in ,its a sub n thumbs from me cheers
Nice fishing 🥰👋👍🤗🎣🐠🐟
How much douse it cost u to fish there ?
Well, at the moment its £75 for a 3 fish ticket, But unfortunatly its going up again next year 😒 They have just started a catch and release ticket for about £35 that might be worth a try. Have a quick look on there web site. Every week on there facebook page there is great double fish being court. All fisheries have been going up and up in price... its got to stop at some point 🤔
Why oh! Why do people pay to catch pet fish is beyond me! They like white flys because it reminds them off bread!
When exactly has a stock pond bred trout fed on brown halibut pellets seen white bread? People pay to fish small stillwaters because low and behold they have fun doing it. If you don’t like small stillwaters then watch videos that are not small stillwaters it’s not really rocket science is it?.
@@barrybigplumsChad, don't tell anyone, but there is no more gullible fish than a hungry wild brown trout in a spate river....doesn't suit somes narrative though eh? 😂
Tosser
Beautiful fish well done
Awesome fishing 🐟🐠🎣🥰🤗👋👍
Looks like u all had a nice time there
We do like it at Rockbourne, it has to be one off the best fisheries arround, Dave also has plenty off fish tokens to use up 😄 it's well worth a visit
