I always thought it would be a cool idea for the NHL to have a world tournament, but with a throw the sticks in mentality, so you have a group of teams filled with players from all over the world.
I'd love to see Abols play, a real chance that he's hungrier than some of the complacents on the team
Technically if you aren't counting the last 2 or 3 drafts then you should go backwards 20 years from the last draft you do count. As for Atkinson, if he doesn't want to be traded where we can move him park him in Lehigh for the year.
the nhl has always had a marketing problem - they always play 4th fiddle to the other sports - if i was trying to change it, i would play 4 on 4 for the 1st period - 4 on 4 for the 2nd period and with 7 minutes or so left i would make it 3 on 3 - this is out of the box thinking - just think of the space on the ice it would create - As far as the flyers preseason schedule - they could play teams from mars, jupiter, and saturn - who would care anyway.
