Guys gotta be careful camping under dead trees….. general public should know trees are one of the TOP killers in wildland fire fighting. Seen a lot of sketchy camp sites before and this is one of them 😂 Lil bit of wind or water and those trees are coming down. Would hate to see a video commemorating one of y’all’s lives instead of some rad fishing! 👊🏼❤️

Yup, as a hammock camper especially, I make it a point to be hyper vigilant about threes that can fall on me so I don't turn into a smashed burrito.

That particular tree was uprooted, live or dead, dangerous. Life, it's unpredictable
I am a North Eastern Utah native, and have spent my entire life living at the base of the Uinta mountains. It truly is some of the greatest country on earth. My great great grandfather George Washington Walkup was the first Ranger in the Ashley National Forest and can be seen in the first black and white photo posted in your video. Keep up the great content and ethical camping/fishing!

Came here for the fishing, but stayed because of your stressed importance of protecting these lands! I appreciate the subtle points around checking regulations, protecting the land, staying on trail, leave no trace, leave better then you found it, and drowning your fires! All these beautiful rivers, streams and ranges would be in jeopardy of being closed or destroyed if not protected and respected from humans. Thank you for reminding those who know and educating those who don't about the importance of these rules / expectations. We need to hold each other accountable so we can all continue to enjoy these places and ensure the wildlife can thrive. Also, glad those widow maker trees didn't hit you at night. I always check for dead trees like that before setting up camp. Super lucky and glad everyone was okay. Tight Lines!
absolutely love this channel for so many reasons: the appreciation for nature, the quality of the videos, fly fishing content, and 10/10 commentary when scottie, adam, steve, and bryant get together. another channel could be doing the same stuff as y’all, but honestly.. you guys are the reason why it’s so great. absolutely love it guys
As always, the photograph and editing of your videos is some of the best out there. I've been working on getting one of my Grandsons interested in fly fishing. I specifically send him the links to your videos because of the joy and shear adventure you guys have. Keep it up boys!
Something has happened with your film making since SBD: Colorado. Every film since and including that one have been absolutely next level! The quality is crazy. Your stuff originally inspired me to film my own fishing adventures… now it’s like unachievable levels of greatness.
Inspiring...you guys really do an incredible job in capturing the essence of what is fly fishing. What a great trip - crazy ending too...so good that you weren't at camp!
Utah native here...Was fishing below a beaver dam on the west fork of the Bear River in the high Unitas years ago during what I thought to be a passing storm when the dam gave way and swept me down stream. Almost had my ticket punched that day. The level of caution I now exercise in those mountains borders on paranoia. Safe journeys fellas!
Seriously, that shot of that fish coming up from the bottom and taking that fly was some of the best I've seen ever. Glad you all are ok. Dead falls ... scary.
First video I've ever seen from you guys. As a Utah native and addicted fly fisherman, I'm so stoked to have come across your channel! Great vid! Definitely got a quick subscription from me.

Thank you guys! We’re very grateful that no one was hurt. Cheers to the new year!
Always interesting watching someone fish exactly where I've caught fish
Your videos just keep getting better and better! I've been in a downed tree situation like the one in the vid, and it's enough to keep you sick to your stomach for a while. Glad it was only some gear that was damaged. Thanks for bringing us this kind of beautiful cinematography deep in the heart of Winter!
I love that you guys did some entomology segments in this video! Phelps is always crushing it with the camera as always. I know someone in the comments already said it but PLEASE don't camp under dead trees. They call them "Widow Makers" for a reason, Im glad you all are safe. Love the videos and can't wait to see more!
You guys always crush but love the bit about keeping it simple with the flies! Can't stress that enough! Great flick as always guys!
I was born and raised in the Utah mountains, all those tall looming dead tree's around that camp...we have always called them "Widowmakers" for a good reason. I can still hear my scoutmaster's voice "Dont ever pitch your tent beneath the shadow of a widowmaker!". So glad you all made it out of there safe and weren't in camp when it fell. Absolutely Love your channel, it inspires me and brings me allot of happiness.

Hard to find a place in the Uintas with no standing dead, and now I see the live trees can pop right over, yikes.
Beyond grateful and happy you guys are all ok. Been watching your videos for about 3+ years now and I absolutely love all the videos. This one in particular might be my new favorite. I love the entomology talk going into detail about what you guys are finding and how you’re imitating that! Absolutely amazing work you guys keep it up!
Another Utah native here and want to thank you for the beautiful photography. I've fished the Uintas for many decades and there are a lot of spots I still want to explore. Hint: I now concentrate on fishing the lakes of the Uintas as the fish size and species available is better than in the rivers. There are brook trout, rainbows, cutthroats, tigers, and golden trout plus grayling to be caught and often (in select lakes) you can catch trout that are much larger than are found in the streams. Thanks again for the adventure.

I too am a Utah native who lives a half hour from the Unitas. Apparently I need to fish it more.
I think this is my fourth time watching this video. This trip looks like so much fun!
This is the most inspirational channel I’ve come across. I strive for my channel to be like this
Adam hunts, fishes, skis, sails, and is a grill master! That dude is the International Man of Outdoors Mystery.
We rafted down a river that had a major fire that summer. The outfitters warned us about tenting underneath trees that had been burnt since no major storm had come through. This is a good reminder of what we were trying to avoid. Glad y'all are ok!
Scary stuff at the campsite. I think all of us campers envisioned ourselves in your shoes and are super thankful yall were safe.
One of my favorite videos I’ve ever seen. Thanks for highlighting such a beautiful part of this state!
Been fishing those 3 rivers for 28 years. Been camping up there for 45 years. My Dad helped build one of the "buildings" that is just up the road from one of those rivers. The fishing now is nothing like it used to be. I have a picture on my wall that is identical to one of the scenes from this. That part of the river used to be stellar. I would catch and release 60-80 fish out of a half mile stretch of that river over a weekend. Sadly, there are so many people up in this area now that the fishing is only ok. It has a lot of pressure. I miss the good old days when nobody was up there. Was fun watching you all catch some nice fish for those rivers. My favorite to catch is the brookies.
Thx for keeping it real, fellas! So many people try to project a mastery of the outdoors- you guys thoughtfully shared that there is no such thing.

Another gem! Thanks for sharing…really glad everybody was safe!
Great video! Love what you do for the fly fishing community.
I really enjoyed this. Sitting here watching this video in the middle of winter makes me excited for summer adventures ahead. Thanks for all of your hard work putting together such a great video.
Another awesome video, I love the life you guys get to live. Great job editing the video and with the film Will got while you guys were fishing the stream. But most important, glad everyone got home safe!
Awesome stuff man. The work you put into these videos is evident in their quality. Keep it up, so grateful there are people out there teaching people how to do it the right way. Thank you.
Love the content boys. And welcome to Utah! Appreciate the respect and care you guys have for the backcountry as well.
Thanks again for another great video. Your slo-mo footage of the fish taking the surface fly is spectacular. Be safe out there. Thanks.
Just gotta say that I really enjoy your guys videos ,they help me get away to where I want to be while I work my life away . Keep up the good work .
Outstanding video per usual. I wasn’t too familiar with the Uintas before but it’s on my bucket list now. You did an amazing job at catching the scenery while fishing. Can’t wait for the next adventure!
What an intro! Hooked from the start! Another beautiful video, jeez Utah looks beautiful. Keep up the amazing work.
Another great story captured and told. Well done fellas. A real bummer about your trip being cut short and all your equipment. Instead of being bummed you go fishing the next day. Absolutely love it. Can’t wait for the next one. Keep up the great work!
Great film work, wonderful scenery, no long boring travel scenes, wonderful drone work, and overall, a great fly fishing video! This reminded me of my camping days in the Uintah's near mirror lake.
Would love to see more of this incredible region...keep up the great work fellas! Really beautiful area.
So happy you guys are in Utah. So happy you guys are enjoying the country here. I love it here
As always an absolutely amazing edit and showcasing an amazing spot. The videos just keep getting better and better 🤙🏼.
You guys have an amazing channel! I can’t believe I didn’t hear about you guys sooner! Awesome shots as well!!! So beautiful!!
Cool video. Don't let these guys fool you. You can drive a truck right to their camp spot. No need for a utv. They took a backwards way to get there. The river is usually high in June. It drops a lot as the summer goes on. I grew up fishing this river. It gets overfished quite a bit. Glad no one was in the tent when that tree fell. That could have been bad.

One of the best wildlands fly fishing videos I’ve ever seen. Cautionary tale is good too. 👏🏻
I am really enjoying your videos you guys. You all have such easy going personalities and show an incredible adaptability that's refreshing to watch. Your vids are very well put together and the music is pleasant. My favorite part is the advice on keeping the wild places wild and free and beautiful. Thank you for doing what you do.
Outstanding film fellas!!! I always can't wait until you post another one. Well done!!!
the cinematography in these videos is actually insane. I don't know anything about fly fishing but I do know that this guy is better with a camera than a lot of people making AAA movies.
Your content is simply outstanding. Captures the true fly fishing experience, not just on the water
This video just started . its already on point . thanks guys.
Great video, I felt like I was in Utah with the four of you. Beautiful fish and scenery and very glad you guys are all ok. Looking forward to your next fishing adventure.
Such a great film from such a heap of work and effort. Thank you folk, very much appreciated.🍻🍻🍻🍻🇬🇧
Another amazing video. Glad everyone was safe. 🙏🏻
Love when you guys do a Trout Trip video! Grateful that none of you guys got hurt. I’ve never taken into account the trees around where I camp after seeing this I definitely will…..
Loved the video. I am new to Fly Fishing but loving the similarities it has with Mountain Biking. Glad you guys made it out alive. Looking forward to seeing the next one.
Thank you. Great video......glad you guys are OK. Need to copy this trip with my New England fly fishing buddies!
Wonderful and brought back many great memories of Flyfishing the Uintas. Your video production is quite professional. And also including the moose meat and tasty meals and the weather (very realistic). Very informative and entertaining, well done guys 👍
Never stop making these videos. Please and thank you.
I was watching this with my 9-year old son, Henry, and when the tree fell he said, “They need to make some merch that says ‘Fishing saved my life,’ and it would be true.”
Beautiful fish and the setting is absolute breathtaking
What a well-produced video! Wow!! Thanks for taking us along on a great fishing trip!
That was you best yet; good balance between adventure, friends, fishing and scenery.
All I can is that I love your videos. I watch at least one every weekend and just dream of getting back out fishing. Wish I was back in my 30’s again with the same friends I have now from within my fly fishing circle. I would definitely have used many of your videos as inspiration. Keep up the great work and keep me dreaming.
Another amazing video fellas! Glad y’all are ok. Beautiful spot! Keep ‘‘em coming. Tight lines…..
Great video as usual, loved all the closeups of fish taking the flies. Sucks about camp, but everything is replaceable except lives and luckily no one got hurt.
Oh man, this video speaks to me. We've fished several of these same spots for years. The Uinta sudden storms can be absolutely brutal, be it wind or rain. Thanks for the awesome video, it's great to relive memories from some trips while living vicariously through KZread!
Another absolutely amazing video! I've been living in Italy the past 4 years with the Air Force and have fished some amazingly beautiful places over here for wild brown, rainbow and marble trout...even the occasional Grayling. We've moving back stateside in a few months and this has me already thinking about some fly-fishing adventures to take with my brother-in-law! Keep em coming boys!
Always a great day when it starts with a new wild fly upload!
Wow, very happy that you all are ok. That must of shaken everyone up quite a bit. As for the content, it just keeps getting better every time, it never disappoints. I love the simplicity of your brief entomology lesson, you are a natural at this. So much of the content out there is either too boring over too complex. You guys make it look fun and show that it doesn't have to be complicated. Adam crushing it on the streamers is my spirit animal :) Please keep it coming!
I love all of your videos! Beautifully done as always too of course!
Great video! Thanks for sharing the rig set up. Now I need to plan a fly fishing to Utah after Colorado.
So glad all ended well & y’all weren’t around when those trees fell. You could’ve easily not shown us when happened but you did - a GREAT reminder for all of us to remain aware & alert. Great video!
this is absolutely, amazing! love what you guys do. way better than netflix!
What. A. Film. As always gents, just a pleasure to watch. Story telling at its finest. Really enjoyed this one. The sidexside was a unique aspect. That strain of cutty so so nice. Amazing job. Those weather changes. Coming back to camp and seeing it like that.. Damn👀Keep up the great work
Glad you guys are all good, hell of a video cant wait for the 2023 season!
Where you guys fished the second morning is a place my family had been fishing for 50 years! Seriously so cool to see the place i learned to fly fish in quality film. My grandpa (92) has a picture with a football sized Brook trout, and loved seeing this film pointing out every spot he could see! Thanks guys!
Glad you’re all ok. And. Another wonderful video.
I spent 3 days roaming around the Uintas fishing a couple of years ago. It was some beautiful scenery and the fishing was tremendous. I caught a ton of fish. Definitely going to get back there in the near future.
Another great video. Thanks for doing what you do.
The extra effort of the videography only adds as a bonus
Wow! Just stumbled on to your channel. Love your videos. Professionally done and very entertaining. Love fly fishing Utah!
I have often thought about that trip. Thanks for the insight on it. The terane looks like a good 4x4 truck setup for overlanding would be perfect for that. Thanks so much!
These videos are like a warm blanket for my soul!
Killer video as always from you guys. Very glad no one was hurt, ironically the first night you were showing the storm I told my wife, I wouldn’t be camping next to those dead trees. Then at the end you showed exactly why. Hope not too much equipment was lost!
What a trip. Awsome fishing boys. Filming and editing cannot be beat
Awesome trip! Our family does a lot of UTV Overlanding trips and I always bring my fly rod along. The Unitas were a front runner for our next trip already. Thanks for sharing - great video!

Another great film guys! Really makes me wanna fish Utah! Also super crazy to see how drastic those weather changes are, thank god you boys weren't at camp while it happened.
Appreciate your humility in sharing that teachable moment with us. Keep safe!

Love those zoomed in dry eats. Glad everyone’s safe, could have been bad! Great video content gents! Til next time
Great video guys! This video is making me want to take a trip west this spring!
wow! video production is on point. Good job guys. I have grown to love the Uintas. It's a magical place!
Awesome video great fishy looking country. I’m glad you guys are okay. I once was camping in a buddy’s wall tent. It was snowing and blowing a little all night. Sleep was spotty. We decided to wake up and make breakfast. We had a lantern going. Our breakfast nearly completed. We go from light to pitch black and blowing. It was crazy. A huge like microburst? Hit our area it blew the tent at least 30 feet up into some trees behind us. We got our wits together gathered our keys and some breakfast. Got a little more dressed and headed to the truck to get out of the weather. It was freaky and awesome at the same time. We gathered up all the gear and then went hunting. No elk were spotted. We figured we were there so why not. Your scene was reminiscent of that hunting trip. Thanks for putting great videos. Fish it well!
Absolutely beautiful dude amazing work you have inspired me to do something like this in my area
Another amazing video. Thanks guys
You guys seriously have the best videos! Sorry to see some of your gear get destroyed but glad you guys are all safe.
