We do have some incredible trout fishing and we are definitely spoiled, especially with the average size of the trout.

Yes, interesting to see some spawning fish around and it's only mid April. I still want to do a bit more backcountry first but the winter ones are on my mind.

Are these wild fish? Or are they stocked?

As far as I am aware, the browns are all wild, but I think some of the rainbows may be stocked. I believe the lake that this stream runs into is connected, via a canal, to a lake that does get stocked because it doesn't have enough natural spawning. Some of those stocked fish do end up in this stream. Someone on here might have the full info and will hopefully correct me if I am wrong.

Love the vids and content, man! Usually, I have nothing bad to say ever, but that euro nymphing is worse than spinning. You may as well have a trebble on with a sinker. 🤮🤮

Glad you enjoy the channel and thanks for watching. Just not sure how you get to that conclusion. Euro is an effective way of nymphing. Fly fishing, maybe not, especially since you don't use a fly line, but certainly nothing like spinning with a trebble 🤣. Trebbles are nasty hooks that damage fish and are not needed. It's easy to spin with a single hook and works just as well. You might as well give give euro it a try cause it is here to stay. Not a method I would choose if I could fish the same water successfully with a dry or dry dropper. But this time of year nothing is going to come up for a dry and they are all down deep and its just a better way to fish for them in this situation. I'm not a fly purist anyway. Only my channel is a fly fishing channel, but personally, I do everything, including even bait with my kids. I don't look down on any method anyone chooses to fish. I'm happy for them to get out and fish and enjoy it. Give it a go, you might be surprised 😉 tight lines. Btw there is an awesome dry fly only backcountry video in the works but I'm working my way through 5 days of footage so just hang in there. Good stuff is coming.
