What doe the 2 bungs do? I have a 7.5 litres level tank and both bungs are fitted (for 9 litres). Can't see any difference. What do they do? I don't want to remove the siphon valve to take one bung out. The unit does a full flush and a half flush and looks OK to me?

The bungs are there to stop the siphon sooner if they are removed. The higher the bung removal the less flush you get. The volumes are only an indication and nominal, it will all depend on the size of the cistern they are fitted in how much they will deliver, so the actual volume in certain cisterns could be more than others or vice versa. If the flush is performing ok then leave the bungs fitted. If you want to be sure exactly how much water you are using, it can be done by: Step 1- Turn the water supply off. Step 2 - Flush the cistern. Step 3 - Using a measuring jug, (or 2L bottle), measure water back into the cistern until you get to the marked fill level of the cistern. This will tell you how much you are flushing. The bungs will nominally alter the flush by approx.. 1L

@@FluidmasterInc Thanks for the info. I will leave both bungs in now with confidence. The cistern level line has 7.5L stamped on it and I would estimate that there is about a litre of water remaining (will do your testing as you described) after a full flush. Would you expect a litre or so to be left in the bottom of the tank? Thanks again, Ruben..
