Stop it with this cuteness! That Chat St Nicholaus is ridiculously endearing! The background looks sooo good! Your new acquisitions are awesome! I’ve had my eye on that Teresa Kogut fox….🤔….no, I won’t let you enable me again! 🤣🧡 I love graphic novels! Keep the book talks coming…love them! 📚

Hi Laurel. Another great video. The mill hill heart turned out beautiful. I stitched a design by JBW this winter and I really enjoyed using one color floss. The LNS I go to displays half of their charts by designer and half by theme. I agree that it’s difficult to find what you’re looking for by theme. Love your book talks. I hope the rest of the school year goes well for you.

When you showed the St. Nicholas cat it reminded me of the characters that were on the Redwall book series covers. He finished up really cute. I've never had a problem with my kids reading graphic novels. My son used to love the Captain Underpants series, & he still has his collection of them stored away with the rest of the books he's kept. The school I work at has still been bouncing back & forth between virtual & in person learning too, & I feel the same way, that more time working at home equals more stitching time. We have another virtual day tomorrow due to winter weather, so I'll be getting more stitching in. 😊

The Nicholaus Cat does look like something out of Redwall! 😆 Captain Underpants is a great series to begin read and one that has become a classic. Hopefully we will have more consistency with the schooling schedule in the next couple of months. It would be nice to be able to plan, although I will miss the stitching time. 😅

Hey Laurel! Mill Hill Valentine is so pretty! And that bead organizer is CUTE! My LNS (Patches and Stitches in Huntsville, AL) has most pattern organized by theme too. Except for really popular designers like Blackbird Designs. Those they kept grouped together. My kids LOVE non-fiction graphic novels like Science Comics and Amulet.

Good to see you again. I love seeing your projects. That Mill Hill heart is beautiful. It looks like a lot of work. I would never stitch a card for someone either. It would be a nice way to display a stitched piece without the expense of framing though.

Hi Laurel! The Mill Hill Valentine is done so beautifully ♥️ Oh my gosh! I have JBW Designs, The Rabbit Alphabet. They look so similar. My piece will be finished and framed for Easter. Enjoyed your flosstube. Have a wonderful week!

Thank you so much! I like Manga too, but my students get confused on how to read the book because in Japan the books are constructed differently and they begin at 'the end.' 😅

Thank you for pointing out that graphic novels can be non-fiction as well: I struggled to put difference between graphic novels and comics into words and this really makes more sense than everything else I've seen

Hi Laurel ... as you can see, I’m quite behind. I really like the heart! Ummmm, yes, it’s your librarian brain :-) there are so many things in this world I wish were alphabetized because it ust makes so much more sense, but alas, I don’t rule the world. (And it really irritates me that some newer computer programs default to alphabetizing names by first name vs. last name ... NO!! ). Amulet was a series I could never keep on the shelf when I worked at the school either ... it was always checked out. So was the Bone series. I hope the second semester of your school year has gone relatively smoothly and that things are winding done and you’ll be able to enjoy a nice summer break. ~Katrina

I hope this doesn't come across as odd, but you are beautiful. You resemble Alexis Bledel a bit. Anyway, I am about halfway through adding the beads to my first Mill Hill kit (Winter Wonderland) and you've inspired me to buckle down and finish! I also have my masters in library and info science. Happy Stitching!

😊 Thank you for the kind words! I haven't seen any patterns to match book covers, although there are some cross stitching clubs that have book themed kits. The kits are for much older books though, like Frankenstein and Pride & Prejudice. Thank you for watching and hope you are doing well! 🥰
